Abstract

Iswahyudi et al, 2019. Oil Palm Plantation’s Phosporous Mineral Mapping on Babat District South Sumatera. JLSO 8(1):77-85. Soil nutrient status mapping was not initiated which lead to inefficiency in fertilization. Fertilizition without nutrient analysis could lead to nutrient deficiency or toxicity of nutrint. The Purpose of this research was to identify, map the nutrient status and fertilization recomendation of phosporous nutrient status in public oil palm plantation at Babat Village Babat Toman Districts Musi Banyuasin District South Sumatera Province. This research used a detailed survey methode with grid system for 16 sample which represent 16 ha and 60 cm depth of soil drilling. Phosporous nutrient status at research location ranged from 4,81 ppm to 21,86 ppm. 7 ha contained 8-20 ppm available phosphorous ot classified into medium, 6 ha contained < 8 ppm available phosphorous or classified into low and 3 h contained >20 ppm available phosporous or classified into high. Soil reaction (pH) of the research field was 5,0 and 5,5 which classify the soil into acid soil. Fertilization implemented to increase the nutrient status until medium (15 ppm) which resulted in SP-36 doses was 346,22 kg/ha for low nutrient status and 139,33 kg/ha for medium nutrient status.

Abstract

Sarimana U, Indarto N, Herrero J, Erika P, Wendra F, Zulhermana Z, Asmono D. 2019. Genetic diversity preliminary study of cameroon origin oil palm at PT. Binasawit Makmur. Jurnal Lahan Suboptimal: Journal of Suboptimal Lands. 8(2):126-133.  A plant breeding program needs genetic diversity information of germplasm, but the source of genetic diversity of oil palm plants in Indonesia is very narrow. In order to increase genetic diversity, the introduction of germplasm from Cameroon was conducted. The purpose of this study was to obtain a useful molecular marker in order to get genetic diversity information in Elaeis guinensis germplasm materials from Cameroon at PT. Binasawit Makmur (BSM). This preliminary research has been done in 2013. In this study, 300 samples of Cameroon oil palm DNA from 99 accessions and 10 samples DNA BSM material were analyzed by 9 microsatellite markers (simple sequence repeat; SSR). The 9 SSR markers used were very informative and we obtained 93 alleles with an average of 10.33 alleles per locus. The value of polymorphism information content (PIC) was around 0.746-0.889. The total genetic diversity was relative high (HT = 0.814). The coordinate analysis showed no groups in both 99 accessions and BSM material. Based on phylogenetic analysis, 9 SSR markers could show the genetic diversity between the populations. To validate this fact, it needs further research using more molecular markers and samples.

Abstract

Somantri RU, Syahri S, Thamrin T. 2019. Agronomic and economic analysis of soybeans which is grew by monoculture and polyculture systems in South Sumatra. Jurnal Lahan Suboptimal: Journal of Suboptimal Lands. 8(2):159-172.  The presence of shade and other limiting factors in the crops of plantation plants will certainly affect the growth and soybean yield were compared by monoculture. The objective of the research was to know of agronomic performance and farming feasibility of soybeans which are cultivated by polyculture and monoculture systems. Soybeans were planted in two systems namely monoculture (soybean) and polyculture (soybean are intercropped with 3 years of rubber trees).  Both of Dena 1 and Anjasmoro varieties were cropped in those systems. Soybeans are cropped by using planting machine (ATBJ) which has planting distance 20 cm x 40 cm (1-2 seeds per hole). Plants were fertilized with 50 kg Urea per ha, 150 kg TSP per ha, 150 kg KCl per ha, manure 2,000 kg per ha, and dolomite 1,000 kg per ha. Mower were used for harvesting. The results showed that the growth and soybean yield in monoculture system was better than the polyculture. Yield of Anjasmoro in monoculture was 15.35 ku per ha, whereas the polyculture was 4.72 ku per ha. Meanwhile, the productivity of Dena 1 was 14.80 ku per ha and 7.38 ku per ha in polyculture system. The polyculture had a higher value of the land equivalent ratio than monoculture of rubber trees. Economically, the two planting systems that were examined also deserve to be done by farmers, where the value R/C > 1
