Abstract

Aquaponics, the combined culture of fish and plants in recirculatingsystems,has become increasingly popular. Ammonia that excreted from fishmetabolic activity is a serious problem in intensive aquaculture productionsystems because it would build-up to toxic level in fish tanks. Therefore,recirculating system with filtration process becomes an important component tomaintain water quality in order to be an appropriate condition for fish production.The objective of this experiment was to measure growth and viability fishes withfour media screens Chinese Cabbages with density conduct fishes out selais(Ompok sp) that different. The result of the experiments showed fish performanceof that system such as survival rate, food conversion ratio, and biomass growthrate, were higher than the others, i.e., 100 %, 1.1, and 0,953 kgs, respectively.However, fish specific growth rate of the treatment (1.65 %) have significantdifference (P < 0.05) compared to other treatmen.

Abstract

Produktivitas alat tangkap telah menjadi hal penting bagi pengelolaan perikanan tangkap yang bertanggung jawab dan berkelanjutan. Tujuan Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran perikanan pukat cincin di Pelabuhan Perikanan Nusantara (PPN) Sibolga mencakup deskripsi armada, komposisi hasil tangkapan dan produktivitas penangkapan pukat cincin di PPN  Sibolga  berdasarkan  trip  penangkapan  dan  ukuran  kapal. Penilitian ini telah dilaksanakan dari Bulan Juli hingga Agustus 2016 di Pelabuhan Perikanan Nusantara Sibolga Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yakni metode survei. Data diambil menggunakan kuesioner dengan metode wawancara. Armada  penangkapan  pukat  cincin  yang  berbasis  di  PPN  Sibolga memiliki Gross tonnage 58 - 117 GT dengan kapasitas penggerak berkisar antara 140-600 HP.  Jenis  ikan  yang  paling  banyak  tertangkap  adalah  cakalang  yaitu  40.41 persen dari total hasil tangkapan sebesar 142.757 kg. Trip penangkapan tertinggi di peroleh tahun 2012 yaitu sebanyak 234 trip dari 207  unit  penangkapan  pukat  cincin.  Hasil  tangkapan  terbanyak  terdapat  pada tahun  2013  yaitu  352.246  kg  dari  212  unit  penangkapan  pukat  cincin. Produktivitas  per  trip  tertinggi  yaitu  2.57  ton/trip  pada  tahun  2013  dan produktivitas per GT tertinggi yaitu 3.87 ton/GT pada tahun 2013.

Abstract

Sani Maninjau Nagari was conducted in May 2013 with a goal of research is to know the size of investments and the income derived from the business of tilapia KJA 10 and 20 bags by using some index investment criteria. The results showed for KJA businesses with 10 pockets for Rp.163.840.000 and investment required to invest Rp 20 bags. 322 140 000. profits each harvest for KJA 10 bags of Rp. 51,594,200 and for KJA 20 bags of Rp.107.589.300. invest-ment criteria based index values obtained BCR from 1.61 to 1.63, FRR 31.49 to 33.39, 2.29 PPC period - the period of 3.17, FCR from 1.29 to 1.31. The problem in the development KJA Maninjau is KJA number has exceeded the carrying capacity of the environment so necessary arrangements.

Abstract

A survey and experiment have conducted on fishing boat materials of justconstructed, 10 years and 15 years old. Materials were sampled and its strength wastested in order to understand the fatigue and its cause. The fatigue of materials is inregression linear but depending on the kind of wood, its processing, and the placeused in the boat construction. Those of materials use to be submerged in the waterwill be fatigue faster compare to those used in the dry place. The fatigue caused bymarine organism such sea worm holed into or some mollusks and microbe mashesattach to the surface of wood. Proper processing and well maintenance duringoperation of the boat will makes it be last longer.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of different cross-sectional areas of recirculation systems on water quality in tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) rearing. The method used is an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD), 4 treatments and 3 replications each. The treatments are P0 (conventional), P1 (2 cross-sectional units with an area of 1,087 cm2), P2 (4 section units with an area of 2,174 cm2), P3 (6 section units with an area of 3,261 cm2). Each treatment used the same filter, namely cotton, zeolite, pumice stone, and bio balls. The results of the research the highest absolute weight growth was obtained in the P3 treatment with an average value of 4.56 g and followed respectively P2 4.38 g, P2 3.03, P0 2.59 g. The highest absolute length growth rate was obtained in treatment P3 2.71 cm, P2 of 2.54 cm, P1 of 1.87 cm, and the lowest absolute length was found in treatment P0 of 1.62 cm. The highest feed conversion value was at P0 at 3.91, followed by P1 at 2.84, P2 at 2.06, and the lowest at P3 at 1.94. The highest survival value was P3 of 85.00, P2 r 83.33, P1 73.33 and the lowest was P0 of 55.00. The highest diversity coefficient value was obtained in treatment P0 of 17.58, followed respectively by treatment P1 of 16.05, P2 of 12.91 and the lowest coefficient of diversity found in treatment P3 of 12.69. The conclusion of this study is the use of different recirculation cross-sectional areas has a significant effect on absolute weight growth, absolute length growth, feed conversion ratio, survival, and water quality. The recirculation cross-sectional area in P3 treatment with a cross-sectional area of 3.261 cm2 gave good results for the survival of tilapia (O. niloticus).

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menguji daya hambat ekstrak kuda laut(Hippocampus spinosissimus) terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Vibrio alginolyticus.Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Desember 2016 sampai Januari 2017 di LaboratoriumMikrobiologi Laut Jurusan Ilmu Kelautan, Universitas Riau. Ekstrak etanol kudalaut memiliki kandungan kimia steroid/triterpenoid, saponin dan glikosida sertamemiliki efek sitotoksik Uji daya hambat dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen menggunakanempat konsentrasi ekstrak (100%, 50%, 25% dan 12,5%). Dari hasil penelitianyang dilakukan ditemukan bahwa rata-rata diameter zona daya hambat ekstrakkuda laut tertinggi terdapat pada konsentrasi 100% (3,67 mm) sedangkan yang terendahterdapat pada konsentrasi 25% (0,73%). Ekstrak kuda laut mampu menghambatpertumbuhan bakteri V. alginolyticus dengan potensi lemah dengan nilai rata-rata diameterzona daya hambat <5 mm. Ekstrak kuda laut cenderung bersifat bakteriostatik.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to observe the biological aspects such as length, weight,length weight correlation and sex ratio. The study was done in October 2006.There were 199 females rays and 166 males rays on the observation, thus theywere measured as length and weight. Therefore, it intended to achieve the weightlength connection of those rays. The result of the observation was that the value ofmales b and females was not differ obviously by 3 or b = 3. It showed that thegrowth figure of male and female's Himantura gerrardi was isometric, whichmeans that the growing of the length was balanced from the growing of theweight. The sex ratio between males and females is 1:1.2. After testing of Test X2,it had been found that there were not significant differences between male andfemale. It also emphasized that the capture had been done for the observation wason the breeding season, thus the males and females were altogether.

Abstract

Total Suspended Matter (TSM) dan klorofil-a merupakan parameter kualitas air yang dapat dipetakan dengan penginderaan jauh. Nilai TSM yang tinggi dapat mempengaruhi klorofil-a dalam fitoplankton untuk berfotosintesis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sebaran, akurasi, serta hubungan antara parameter TSM dan klorofil-a berdasarkan data in situ dan data citra di perairan Pesisir Prigi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif. Data yang digunakan adalah citra Landsat 8 tanggal 20 Mei 2018 dan sampel in situ yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling di 9 lokasi pada tanggal 19 Mei 2018. Dari penelitian ini didapatkan hasil nilai TSM in situ berkisar 41-64 ppm, nilai TSM citra berkisar 44–65 ppm, nilai klorofil-a in situ berkisar 1,15-2.68 mg/m3, dan nilai klorofil-a citra berkisar 1,24-2,41 mg/m3. Dari hasil data in situ dan citra didapatkan akurasi sebesar 74,37% untuk TSM dan 80,33% untuk klorofil-a. Nilai hubungan TSM dan klorofil-a adalah y= -0.045x + 3.9103 dengan nilai koefisien 85%, yang artinya variabel X yaitu TSM mempengaruhi variabel Y yaitu klorofil-a. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah perairan Pesisir Prigi memiliki nilai yang berada pada ambang batas masing – masing parameter, sehingga perairan Pesisir Prigi tergolong baik. Akurasi yang tinggi antara data citra dan data in situ menunjukkan metode penginderaan jauh sesuai untuk digunakan di wilayah perairan Pesisir Prigi.

Abstract

Accuration for preparing budget to estimate contruction costs greatly affects thesuccess of its funding. In addition, this will effect the successfull of its building. Inboatbuilding project, this will monitor the initial funding ability. Therefore,preparation of Cost –Budget Plan (RAB) can be as a solution to describe total cost inboatbuilding as material cost, cost of manpower, etc. The aim of this research is togenerate application of RAB for Bagansiapi-api shipyard by using Macros Excel. It isdeveloped by using prototype methods with visual basic for application (VBA).Results shown that the resulting aplication can help in processing the boatbuildingcost .

Abstract

The research was conducted from April to June 2010, in the research pondsof the Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty, Riau University. The objectives ofthis research were to find out the effects of different stocking density on thegrowth and survival rate of the fish reared in cages. Fishes used in this study were9.5 to 10 cm in total length. There were 4 treatments applied, namely 130, 170,210, and 250 fish/m3 and 3 replications applied in each treatment. The fish mealused in this research was commercial pellets, ad libitum, and four times/ day.Results of ANAVA shown that different stocking density did not affect thegrowth and survival rate of the fish. The best stocking density was 170 fish/m3 asit is indicated by high daily growth rate (2.29% of BW), high FCR (44.11%) andhigh survival rate (100%). Water quality parameters during the research weregood, temperature 27-330C, DO 3.6-6.8 ppm, pH 5-6 and ammonia (NH3) 0.030-0.075 ppm.
