Abstract

Fish stress may be governed by change of water temperature that increaseboth chatecolamine and cortisal secretion. In high level both hormone have anegative effects on fish immune system. Increasing of cortical in blood plasmawould lead to inhibition of interleukin I and II formation. Thus, fish immunesystem dropped which cause fish suffer from infection and eventually dead.Physiological stress may stimulate increasing of cortical and glucose level ofblood plasma. As such lysozime activity would increase. Increase of bloodglucose is of a normal indicator of stressed fish. An randomized block designexperiment with one factor, have been carried out to evaluate the effect or watertemperature on blood glucose of fish. Three level of water temperature ( 24, 28.and 280C) were applied. It revealed that blood glucose level ranged from 127.23to 192,96gr/dl with maximum level of glucose appeared in fish reared in 240C (12gr/dl), and the lowest at of 32oC.. Blood hemoglobin in accordance with bloodglucose, in which maximum level found in 240C (12 gr/dl). The highesthematocrite level were appeared in treatment of 240C (39,83%). Red BloodNumber of 4.725 X 103 sel/mm3, were found in the water temperature of 240C.

Abstract

This researh was aimed to determine the changes of protein and amino acid profil content of catfish (Paraplotosus albilabris). The research method is conducted by experimental method that was doing a series of experimental research of different cooking process in catfish. The design used was a completely randomized design non factorial with 4 levels treatment namely:without cooking process as a control (P0), boiling cooking process (P1), boiling cooking process with salt (P2), and steaming cooking process (P3). The results showed that the nutritional content of catfish after the different cooking treatment gave a real effect on the water, ash, fat, and protein content and gave different amino acid profile each different cooking process. Boiling cooking process had amino acid content 90.58% and closed to amino acid content of fresh catfish (control). The binding capacity of catfish flour from different raw material gave the different of water holding capacity value ie catfish flour from fresh condition 3.3g/g (P0), boiling cooking process 3.1g/g(P1), boiling cooking process with salt 3.1g/g(P2), and steaming cooking process 3.7 g/g (P3).

Abstract

Main problems facing by fish farmers in utilizing of swampy soil as otheralternatives for fish culture area are water and soil quality such as low soil andwater pH, uncertainty water supply, land topography and lack of nutrient content. In order to increase nutrient content in swampy soil, it should give manure. FlyAsh consist of P : 10.0-12.3 g/kg, K : 16.0-65.8 g/kg, Ca : 26.6-32.1 g/kg, Mg : 24.4-30.8 g/kg, Cu : 0.16-1.26 g/kg, dan B : 0.20-0.27 g/kg. Fly Ash an alternative thatcould be used in nutrient recycling or to return nutrient content on land.Application of fly ash could improve swampy soil and adding nutrient content forplant. The aim of this research was to investigate the effect of palm fly ashaddition on phytoplankton growth. Complete Random Design with one factor, four treatments and three replications was applied. Results showed that there waspositive relationship between concentration of fly ash and phytoplanktonabundance. Fly ash concentrations applied were: P0 (without fly ash), P1 (246.1g/m2), P2 (492.2 g/m2) and P3 (738.3 g/m2). Results shown that the bestphytoplankton abundance was obtained from P3 (738.3 g/m2) with phytoplanktonabundance was 2,945 cell/ml, while the worst was P0 (without fly ash) withphytoplankton abundance 1442 cel/ml. 17 species of phytoplankton were inventedin the research consist of 5 species of Chlorophyceae, 4species ofCyanophyceae, and 8 species of Bacillariophyceae respectively. The organicmaterial of soil content from 60.40-89.75 %, nitrate concentration 0.129-0.841ppm, temperature 26-35oC, water pH 5-9, turbidity 1-17 NTU, DO 2.1-4.5 ppm,CO2 11.99-46.57 ppm, orthoposphate concentration 0.079-0.524 ppm, hardness17.00-29.67 ppm.
