Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui studi penerimaan konsumen terhadap cup cake rumput laut. Rumput laut Eucheuma cottonii diperoleh dari pasar kodim, Pekanbaru. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) satu faktor dengan 4 taraf perlakuan 0%, 10%, 20% dan 30%. Hasil penelitian berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap nilai organoleptik meliputi rupa, rasa, aroma, sedangkan tekstur tidak berbeda nyata dan nilai kimia yang meliputi kadar abu, kadar protein dan kadar serat kasar sedangjan kadar air dan kadar lemak tidak berbeda nyata. Berdasarkan parameter uji perlakuan terbaik cupcake dengan penambahan tepung rumput laut 20% dengan rupa 6,72 warna hijau kecoklatan, rasa 6,69 sedikit manis, aroma 7,00 aroma tepung rumput laut, tekstur 6,73 padat sedikit lembut dan kadar air 18,13 %, kadar protein 14,88 %, kadar lemak 0,26%, kadar abu 1,00 %, serat kasar 4,49 %.

Abstract

This research was conducted in December 2019 and January 2020 at the Fish Breeding and Breeding Laboratory of the Faculty of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs, Riau University. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect and optimal dosage of organic fertilizer fermented from white turi leaves (Sesbania grandiflora) on the culture of Chlorella sp. The design of this study was an experimental model using a completely randomized design factorial pattern (CRD) of 1 factor, 4 levels of treatment and 3 replications. The treatment level used was P0 (control, Walne 2ml / L). P2 (white turi leaf fertilizer dose 2 ml / L), P3 (3 ml / L), and P4 (4 ml / L). Cultivation was carried out for 10 days, using Turi Putih and Walne Leaf Fertilizers. The results showed that administration of different doses of white turi leaf fertilizer affected population density and specific growth rates. Application of white turi leaf fertilizer with a dose of 4 ml / L gives the best results with a cell density of 573.33 x 104 cells / ml, and a specific growth rate of 1.8651 / day, and the highest peak density occurs on day 7. Results of quality measurements water during the study obtained a temperature of 29-33 oC, pH 7.8- 8.5, and DO 8.0-8.5.

Abstract

Inland general waters fish resources in the East coast of Sumatra are thought to have experienced more fishing pressure due to non-selective use of fishing gear. Changes in the size of fish caught are one of the main indicators of fishing pressure. This study aims to determine the status of economically important fish resource utilization in the rivers of the eastern coast of Sumatra, by estimating the spawning potential ratio (SPR). The research was conducted in the rivers of the East Coast region of Sumatra, including the Kampar, Batanghari and Musi Rivers from January to December 2016. The research method was through field surveys and collecting sample fish through fishermen and fish collectors. The types of fish collected were baung, lais, pond, siam sepat, cork, and betok. The results of the analysis of the SPR value in the Kampar River, where baung fish only amounted to 1%, 2% lais and 11% pond. In the Batanghari River, the SPR values reached 16% and 37% for siam sepat and cork fish, while in Musi River, the SPR value for siam sepat fish was 4%, baung and betok were 2% respectively. Overall this value is far below the recommended threshold value of SPR (30-40%). The rate of exploitation of fish resources is also high, it can be seen from the proportion of mortality due to fishing to natural mortality (F / M) of 2 to 6 times the natural mortality rate, which indicates the status of fish stocks in the wild is in an alarming condition.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the chemical quality and consumer acceptance of the staple fish sausage fortified with natural dyes, namely carrot extract and red spinach extract. The research method used was experimental design (CRD), as the treatment was S0 (Jelawat fish meat). ), S1 (Jelawat fish meat added 20% red spinach extract), S2 (Jelawat fish meat added 20% carrot extract). From the results of the study of the preference test, it is known that the Jelawat  fish sausage with the addition of 20% carrot extract (S2) was preferred by consumers with a percentage (87.50%) with very like criteria and percentage (6.25%) like criteria. Organoleptic values are taste (8.0), aroma (8.5), appearance (8.3) and texture (8.6). The nutritional content of Jelawat sausage added with carrot extract was higher than the other treatments, with protein content (15.43%) moisture content (55.32%) fat content (2.43%) ash content (6.19%) and carbohydrate content (20.63%). The characteristics of the sausage are thick and brass colored, fishy aroma and carrot aroma is more dominant, fish taste is slightly sweet and carrot-like, while the texture is dense and elastic.

Abstract

The pattern of antibiotic consumption by the community which is carried out independently without medical guidance causes antibiotic pollution has reached sea waters, one of its impacts on the nature of bacterial resistance. This study aims to look at the pattern of antibiotic sensitivity to E coli that isolated from Dumai sea waters. E coli isolates that grown on MHA media were tested based on the Kirby Bauer disk diffusion method. Seventeen isolates were identified, among which a high rate of resistance to penicillin, isoniazid and streptomycin (17), a high rate of resistance to chloramphenicol (5), intermediate susceptibility to chloramphenicol (11) and only 1 sensitive to chloramphenicol. The multiple antibiotic resistance (MAR) index of E coli isolates was 0.82. These show that antibiotics like penicillin, isoniazid, streptomycin and chloramphenicol were not suitable antibiotic for E coli infection treatment. The community is expected to be more disciplined in using antibiotics and to be careful in using the Dumai sea for fishery activities

Abstract

Daun salam termasuk dalam salah satu rempah yang juga dikenal sebagai tanaman herbal.  Daun salam memiliki kandungan kimia seperti flavonoid, tanin, minyak atsiri dan saponin. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menganalisis histopatologi insang dan ginjal ikan lele dumbo (C. gariepinus) yang direndam dalam larutan daun salam (S. polyantha) serta mendapatkan dosis yang aman terhadap histopatologi insang dan ginjal ikan lele dumbo. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) satu faktor dengan empat taraf perlakuan. Perlakuan yang diterapkan adalah P0 (direndam dengan larutan daun salam dosis 0 ppm), P1(1000 ppm),P2(1100 ppm), P3(1200 ppm). Perendaman dilakukan 5 kali dengan selang waktu 2x24 jam selama 10 menit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perendaman ikan lele dumbo (C. gariepinus) dalam larutan daun salam (S. polyantha) berpengaruh nyata terhadap kerusakan histopatologi insang dan ginjal. Dosis yang aman terhadap histopatologi insang dan ginjal ikan lele dumbo (C. gariepinus) adalah 1000 ppm dengan skor HAI 10 dan dikategorikan ke dalam kondisi normal. Kualitas air selama penelitian adalah suhu 27,3-28,0 °C, pH 6,5-6,8, DO 3,4-4,2 mg/L dan amonia 0,01-0,02mg/L.

Abstract

Fish farming using KJA media is quite developed in Buluhcina village. The development of KJA cultivation in Buluhcina Village affects the socio-economic aspects of the community. Every economic activity carried out by fish cultivators using KJA media is expected to be profitable and sustainable. The problem in this research is whether the activities that have been carried out so far actually generate benefits for cultivators and the business being carried out is feasible to develop. For this reason, this research needs to be done to see how the financing and economic patterns of aquaculture with KJA media. By using the quantitative descriptive analysis method, the conclusions are obtained, namely: The investment requirement for fish farming using KJA media is IDR 9,025,000 with the largest amount of investment being for timber procurement of IDR 5,675,000; The financing pattern for fish farming using KJA media shows a total financing of IDR 21,027,500, where the largest cost incurred is the cost of providing feed of IDR 7,425,000; Net income or profit obtained from fish farming using KJA media is IDR 23,522,500; The R / C ratio value is 2.11 which indicates that the fish farming business using KJA media is included in the business category that is feasible to be developed. The R / C ratio value of 2.11 means that every Rp. 1, - that is issued will get an income of Rp. 2.11, - The payback period value or the value of the ability to return investment from fish farming with KJA media is 0.38 which indicates that the cultivation business fish using KJA media are able to return the amount of investment invested in a period of 0.38 years or ± 4 months only. The ROI value or the return on business ratio is 2.60, which means that every investment of Rp. 1, - will provide a profit or profit of Rp. 2.60,-

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan pada Bulan April 2019 dengan tujuan untuk menganalisis kondisi kesehatan terumbu karang dan kondisi kesehatan ekosistem terumbu karang di Perairan Kawasan Mandeh. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode survey dimana setiap pulau terdiri atas 3 stasiun dengan tiap stasiun terdiri atas 2 kedalaman yaitu 4 meter dan 9 meter. Pengambilan data persentase tutupan karang dan tingkat resiliensi karang yang dinilai berdasarkan persentase patahan karang dilakukan dengan metode Underwater Photo Transek (UPT), Sedangkan pengambilan data ikan dilakukan dengan metode Underwater Visual Census (UVC). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan diketahui bahwa kondisi kesehatan terumbu karang yang paling baik disekitarnya adalah Pulau Marak.  Sedangkan kondisi kesehatan terumbu karang yang terburuk adalah Pulau Pagang. Ukuran dalam menentukan kondisi kesehatan terumbu karang karang didasari oleh sehatnya terumbu karang itu sendiri dan ekosistemnya. Terumbu karang yang sehat memiliki persentase tutupan karang batu hidup yang tinggi dan disertai oleh tingginya tingkat resiliensi atau pemulihan yang dimiliki hewan karang saat mendapat gangguan. Sedangkan ekosistem terumbu karang yang sehat adalah terumbu karang yang mampu memproduksi sumberdaya ikan sebanyak-banyaknya.

Abstract

Senyawa karaginan hasil ekstraksi dari rumput laut jenis Eucheuma adalah suatu fikokoloid yang merupakan senyawa polisakarida serat makanan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi kemampuan kappa karaginan dari rumput laut merah (Eucheuma cottonii) sebagai antioksidan dan inhibitor enzim α-glukosidase menggunakan metode FRAP dan secara in vitro. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komposisi kimia E. cottonii kering adalah kadar air (14,23%), kadar abu (38,63%), kadar protein (5,12%), kadar lemak (0,81%), kadar serat kasar (22,18%), dan kadar karbohidrat (32,47%) sedangkan untuk hasil penelitian E. cottonii yang diekstraksi dengan larutan Kalium hidroksida (KOH) 8% menjadi kappa karaginan meliputi karakterisktik kimia adalah kadar air (8,97%), kadar abu (24,76%), kadar abu tidak larut asam (0,93%) dan kadar sulfat (24,50%), karakteristik fisik meliputi rendemen (52,00%) dan viskositas (52,53 cP). Hasil kappa karaginan E. cottonii dibagi menjadi 3 (tiga) kosentrasi yakni (3%, 5% dan 10%). Aktivitas antioksidan paling tinggi penelitian ini terdapat pada kosentrasi 10 g (0,0643 mg TE/g) dengan persen inhibishi enzim α-glukosidase (58,5085 mg/mL) dibandingkan dengan kappa karaginan E. cottonii pada kosentrasi 3 g dan 5 g (0,0200 mg TE/g dan 0,0515 mg TE/g) dengan persen inhibshi α-glukosidase (38,6386 mg/mL dan 474474 mg/mL). Berdasarkan nilai IC50 kosentrasi 5,46 g/mL kappa karaginan E. cottonii telah memiliki potensi kemampuan sebagai inhibitor enzim α-glukosidase. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kappa karaginan E. cottonii memiliki potensi kemampuan sebagai antioksidan dan inhibitor enzim α-glukosidase.

Abstract

This study discusses the isolation and identification of disease-causing fungi in the seeds of Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and Catfish (Clarias gariepinus) cultivated in the cultivation pond of Baru Ladang Bambu Village, Medan Tuntung District, North Sumatra. Sampling was carried out as much as 15 fish each. There are four types of fungi that attack tilapia and catfish. The attack rate with the highest species diversity was found in catfish with 4 types of fungi including Aspergillus flavus, Penicillium glabrum, Saprolegnia sp., and Aspergillus niger. Whereas in Tilapia the types of fungi that attack only consist of 2 types, namely Aspergillus flavus and Saprolegnia sp.
