Abstract

Ikan Nilem (Osteochilus hasselti) merupakan ikan asli perairan Indonesia dan merupakan salah satu dari ikan konsumsi air tawar yang hidup di sungai-sungai dan rawa-rawa. Budidaya ikan nilem ini menguntungkan dilihat dari sisi ekonomi, kelestarian lingkungan dan produksi budidaya. Kegiatan pembesaran ikan nilem memerlukan waktu yang relatif lama dan pertumbuhannya pun tidak maksimal. Percepatan pertumbuhan dapat dilakukan dengan mengaplikasikan Recombinant Ephinephelus lanceolatus Growth Hormone (rElGH), sehingga laju pertumbuhan akan berlangsung lebih cepat. Pada kegiatan pembesaran, belum diketahui dosis pemberian rElGH melalui perendaman yang tepat untuk memacu pertumbuhan ikan nilem. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dosis rElGH untuk menghasilkan pertumbuhan ikan nilem yang terbaik. Manfaat dari penelitian ini adalah memberikan informasi tentang pertumbuhan ikan nilem yang diberi rElGH melalui perendaman dengan dosis berbeda. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan April sampai Mei 2020 selama 40 hari di Laboratorium Teknologi Budidaya, Fakultas Perikanan dan Kelautan, Universitas Riau. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) satu faktor dengan 5 taraf perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan. Taraf perlakuan pada penelitian ini adalah P0 (Tanpa pemberian rElGH), P1 (Pemberian rElGH melalui perendaman dosis 8 mg/L), P2 (Pemberian rElGH melalui perendaman dosis 12 mg/L), P3 (Pemberian rElGH melalui perendaman dosis 16 mg/L) dan P4 (Pemberian rElGH melalui perendaman dosis 20 mg/L). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian rElGH melalui perendaman pada benih ikan nilem dengan dosis berbeda berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap pertumbuhan bobot mutlak, pertmbuhan panjang mutlak, laju pertumbuhan spesifik, efisiensi pakan, konversi, dan kelulushidupan. P2 memiliki hasil yang terbaik yaitu bobot mutlak 4,88±0,13 g, panjang mutlak 2,34±0,07 cm, laju pertumbuhan spesifik 376±0,17 %, efisiensi pakan 87,60±1,03 %, konversi pakan 1,14±0,02 dan kelulushidupan 93,33±5,77  %.

Abstract

Water from the Sikumbang spring has been used by Pulau Sarak Village community to fulfill their daily needs of water, especially for cooking and drinking. Even people used to drink the water directly without boiling it. There were physical, chemical and microbiological parameters measured.  Results shown that the location of the spring was in good condition. The spring was protected with covered concrete tank.Around the spring there were many types of wooden trees such as Hevea brasilensis, Calamus ornatus, Arthocarpus integra, Myristica sp.,Eurycoma longifolia, Tetrastigma sp., Beccauera sp.,and  Nephrolepis sp. There were also many types of animals such as Tupai gils, Sus scrofa, Varanus salvator, Panthera tigris, Macaca nemestrina, hypsiscopus, Pycnonotus aurigaster, Treron Capelleiongifolia, Tetrastigma sp., Beccauera sp., Nephrolepis present in that area. In general, the condition of the area around the spring was good. Results on water quality analysis shown that the water in general is good, with Total Coliform 3/100, pH 5, BOD 1.65 mg/L, COD 7.675 mg/L, Fe 0.059 mg/L, Cd 0.0022, Pb 0.0035, Cu 0.01, Nitrat 0.065, Nitrit 0.051, Fosfat 0.0665, temperature 30.24OC, TSS 28.5 mg/L, TDS 99.5 mg/L, parameters measured.  However, the pH was relatively low (5) and total Colie was present (3/ 100 ml). As the drinking water should have neutral pH and zero total colie, the Sikumbang water need to be boiled before being consumed. In the Pulau Sarak Village, there were 11 water distributors. The water from the spring was collected in big concrete tanks and then was put in 30L/jerrycan. The presence of the Sikumbang spring was also positively affect the economy of the Pulau Sarak Village inhabitants

Abstract

Monsoon is one of the important atmospheric circulations of the global climate system, monsoon activity has a major influence on weather formation in the region in its path. Monsoon activity is often associated with the presence of synoptic disorders in the area in its path. Synoptic disorders involving the movement of rain slowed throughout the monsoon region. The monsoon pits on an annual cycle related to climate when dry and wet. During the dry season, winters occur on various continents with a mass of air in the atmosphere which results in cold and dry, while when it is wet, it affects the summer with moist air. The Java Sea is an area of 310,000 Km2 which is located only 220 miles from the island of Borneo and the north coast of Java covers the archipelago. The geographical position of the Java Sea is in the area where the interaction is occurring - the atmosphere in the Java Sea is becoming more dynamic. Research Objectives to analyze the influence of rainfall in the Java Sea spatially and temporally. The data used are wind re-analysis of zone and meridional data (ftp.cdc.noaa.gov/ Data set /) from 1986 to 2017, for rainfall data at Tegal, Semarang and Surabaya Meteorological Stations 1986-2017. Spatial and temporal monsoon wind patterns are more dominant and beneficial to the variability of rainfall in the Java Sea. This condition can be seen in the type of monsoonal rain letter U or V with one peak of rain in December January and February (DJF) with the beginning of the rainy season in December in June July August (JJA) peak of the dry season and dry season beginning in June.

Abstract

Eucheuma spinosum, red algae, contains secondary metabolites that act as antibacterial. It can be used as an active compound in the production of alcohol-free hand sanitizer. This research was aimed to determine the gram-positive and gram-negative antibacterial activity, pH, and viscosity of alcohol-free hand sanitizer containing E. spinosum extract. The results showed that the alcohol-free hand sanitizer containing 8% E. spinosum extract had characteristics in the form of a gel with the antibacterial activity of gram-positive bacteria (Bacillus subtilis) of 8.83±0.76 mm and gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli) of 8.67±0.58 mm, pH appropriate to pH of skin human (5.83±0.29), and viscosity following the hand sanitizer standard (2708 cps).

Abstract

This research aims to measure the chemical parameters of water quality. The parameters measured were pH, DO, BOD, COD, Nitrate, Ammonia, and Phosphate. The results of this research showed the pH scale range of 6.05 – 6.28, DO range of 5.16 – 7.00 mg/l, BOD range of 1.38 – 8.68 mg/l, COD range of 7.89 – 47.33 mg/l, Nitrate range of 0.31 – 0.38 mg/l, Ammonia of 0.04 – 0.07 mg/l, and Phosphate range of 1.24 – 1.27 mg/l. Hence, the chemical parameter of water quality values indicated that pH, Nitrate and, Ammonia met water quality standards for designated beneficial water uses

Abstract

One of the methods used in intensive cultivation on limited land is the use of a recirculation system with a certain type of filter. This study aims to find the best type of inorganic filter in the cultivation of recirculation systems. This research was conducted from May to August 2019. The materials used were selais fish with a length of 6.8-7.8 cm and a weight of 1.07-2.36 g and fish feed in the form of commercial pellets PF 800. 60x40x40 cm and 60 liter water volume. The method used was an experimental method with one-factor completely randomized design (CRD), namely the type of filter and five levels of treatment (filter type), namely dacron, bioball, gravel, charcoal and zeolite. The parameters measured were the quality of the water in the maintenance medium and the blood glucose levels of the fish. The results showed that the use of different types of filters in the recirculation system had an effect on water quality and blood glucose levels in O. hypopthalmus fish. The results of temperature measurements duringthe study showed that the value of the temperature range was not much different in all treatments, namely in the range, pH and dissolved oxygen were not much different between treatments, namely 26.5 - 29.20C, 7-8, and 4.0- 6.5 mg / L. While the lowest levels of NH3, NO3 and NO2 are found in the bioball filter, namely 0.05 mg / L, 0.65 mg / L and 0.33 mg / L. The treatment with the lowest stress level was the bioball filter, indicated by a blood glucose level of 67.25 mg / dL. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the use of bioball filters in the recirculation system for rearing tilapia (O. hypopthalmus) provides the best results in water quality and reduces stress levels of fish.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 24 Februari- 12Maret 2020 di Korong Pasir Baru Nagari Pilubang Kecamatan Sungai Limau Kabupaten Padang Pariaman, Sumatera Barat. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghitung besarnya biaya investasi, pendapatan dan keuntungan usaha serta menganalisis kelayakan usaha perikanan tangkap dengan alat tangkap payang berdasarkan kriteria investasi RCR, FRR, dan PPC di Pasia Baru. Penelitian menggunakan metode survei. Total investasi yang ditanamkan nelayan Payang di Korong Pasia Baru dalam melakukan usaha dengan rata-rata sebesar Rp. 101.726.176. Biaya tetap yang dikeluarkansebesar Rp. 100.872.727 dan biaya kerja sebesar Rp.853.449. Pendapatan bersih pertahun nelayan pemilik berdasarkan bagi hasil adalah Rp. 65.322.720 / tahun dan untuk nelayan buruh adalah anak buah Rp.11.688.807 dan juru mudi adalah Rp. 23.377.614. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan kriteria investasi didapatkan yaitu nilai RCR  nelayan Payang 1,47 artinya nilai RCR>1, sehingga usaha yang dijalankan memberikan keuntungan untuk layak diteruskan.Nilai FRR nelayan Payang sebesar 63,21% yang artinya usaha penangkapan dengan alat tangkap Payang memperoleh nilai FRR lebih tinggi dibandingkan suku bunga bank BRI sebesar 5,4% per tahun, maka modal yang dimiliki lebih menguntungkan jika pada usaha penangkapan dibandingkan di Bank, usaha ini layak dilanjutkan. Nilai PPC untuk nelayan Payang 1,56 yang artinya  modal akan kembali pada waktu 1,5 tahun. Berdasarkan ketiga kriteria investasi yang sudah dihitung, usaha alat tangkap Payang layak untuk dikembangkan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan rumput laut (E.cottonii) sebagai penstabil terhadap kondisi fisik es krim, dan mendapatkan perlakuan penambahan rumput laut terbaik pada es krim. Rancangan percobaan uji-T, dengan perlakuan masing-masing rumput laut (E.cottonii) pada es krim yaitu 50 g bubur E.cottonii dan 50 g tepung E.cottonii. Parameter yang diamati adalah organoleptik (warna, aroma, rasa, tekstur), analisi kimia (kadar air, kadar abu, kadar protein, kadar serat kasar, kadar iodium), analisi uji fisik (waktu leleh). Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Pengolahan Hasil Perikanan, Laboratorium Kimia dan Hasil Perikanan Jurusan Teknologi Hasil Perikanan pada bulan Juni 2020. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perlakuan yang terbaik dapat dilihat dari hasil uji organoleptik adalah es krim dengan penambahan bubur rumput laut (E.cottonii) 50 g, kadar air 78,24%, kadar abu 0,37%, kadar protein 2,89%, kadar serat kasar 1,36%, kadar iodium 0,49 µg/g, dan waktu leleh 33,00 menit.

Abstract

The maintenance of selais with high density isn’t expected to affect the physiological condition of the growth of the leaf. Then an attempt to cultivate fish with RAS using biofilter in the form of mustard plants. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of stocking density on water quality on RAS technology and to determine the effect of water quality on RAS technology on physiological and hematological fish species. The study was conducted on Oct 6th-Dec 6th 2019, at the Aquaculture Technology Laboratory, Riau University. Using an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design, three treatments and three replications (200 fish/m3, 250 fish/m3, 300 fish/m3). Data obtained included total erythrocytes, hemoglobin levels, hematocrit levels, total leukocytes, absolute growth using one way ANOVA at a 95% confidence level analyzed with the SPSS 17.0 application program. if significantly different then proceed with the Student Newman Keuls test (P <0.05). Whereas water quality data are presented in tabular form and discussed descriptively. Physiologically the best growth density stocking 250 fish/m3, total final erythrocytes 264.00±3.00 x104 cells/mm3, final hemoglobin 8.3±0.11g/dL, final hematocrit 26.66±0.57%, final total leukocytes 2.53±0.01x104 cells/mm3, blood glucose 89.00±1.00 mg/dL, absolute weight growth 12.06±0.02g, absolute length 7.44±0.02cm, SGR 2.40±0.01%.

Abstract

The mangrove forest ecosystem in Sungai Kayu Ara Village, Sungai Apit Subdistrict, Siak Regency, Riau Province has a unique or distinctive appeal, which has the potential to be developed as a mangrove forest ecotourism destination. The research objective was to analyze the potential for developing mangrove forest ecotourism in Sungai Kayu Ara Village in realizing sustainable mangrove forest conservation. The method used in this research is the survey method, which was carried out in May-July 2020. Mangrove density data was taken using the line transect plot technique, which consists of 3 observation transects. Each transect has 3 plots, each plot measuring 10 x 10 m2. The identification results found 6 types of mangroves that grow in the mangrove forest area of Sungai Kayu Ara Village, namely Rhizophora apiculata, Avicennia alba, Bruguiera gymnorrihiza, Sonneratia alba, Nypa fruticans, and Xylocarpus granatum. The mangrove density value is 1234 ind / ha. The average value of the Tourism Suitability Index (IKW) is 76.75%. (S2 category), which is suitable for development as a mangrove forest ecotourism area. Mangrove forest ecotourism development strategies based on SWOT analysis include 1) Increasing stakeholder cooperation for mangrove forest conservation; 2) Developing facilities and infrastructure for the development of mangrove forest ecotourism; 3) Provision of information and promotion of manrove ecotourism through print and electronic media; and 4) Increased quality of skilled and skilled human resources for the development of mangrove forest ecotourism.
