Abstract

Persistent elevation of blood lipids promotes the accumulation of cholesterol in the vascular walls, leading to atherosclerosis, which is a key risk factor for serious cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases such as coronary heart disease and stroke. Hyperlipidemia is mainly classified into two subtypes: primary and secondary. Its occurrence is influenced by multiple factors, including genetic predisposition, dietary habits, liver metabolism abnormalities, insulin resistance, and oxidative stress. Aerobic exercise has a significant positive impact on hyperlipidemia by promoting fat oxidation and reducing lipid parameters. Resistance training effectively improves lipid metabolism by increasing muscle mass and enhancing basal metabolic rate. Although several sports medicine organizations worldwide have advocated the use of exercise prescriptions to prevent and treat chronic diseases, this approach has not been widely and effectively applied in the prevention and treatment of hyperlipidemia. This paper aims to review the pathogenesis of hyperlipidemia and explore the role of exercise in lipid regulation, advocating for the achievement of fat reduction goals through physical activity to provide a scientific basis for the treatment of hyperlipidemia

Abstract

Knee joint sports injuries significantly affect athletes’ performance and well-being. These injuries predominantly involve damage to structures such as medial and lateral collateral ligaments, the cruciate ligaments, and menisci, alongside potential traumatic synovitis. Traditional treatments often require long recovery periods and invasive procedures which may not be feasible for all patients. This study explores the application of extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) as a non-invasive alternative. Extracorporeal shock wave therapy utilizes sound waves with mechanical properties to generate energy through the rapid compression of a medium caused by high-speed motion and vibration. This technique has been recognized for its safety, efficacy, and non-invasive nature, making it an appealing option for treating musculoskeletal disorders. ESWT focuses energy on the injured area to promote regeneration and repair processes, potentially reducing pain and enhancing recovery speed. Despite the growing global use of ESWT in orthopedics, there remains a lack of comprehensive studies specifically examining its effects on sports-related soft tissue injuries in the knee ligaments in China. This research aims to fill that gap by systematically evaluating the efficacy of ESWT in the treatment of knee ligament injuries among athletes. The study measures outcomes based on pain reduction, improvement in joint function, and overall recovery time. The innovative approach taken by using ESWT, and the significance of filling a research gap in the Chinese context. The findings are expected to contribute valuable insights into alternative treatment modalities for sports-related knee injuries, offering benefits such as reduced recovery times and avoidance of surgical interventions

Abstract

A shell noun (SN) is a type of abstract noun whose pragmatic meaning is encapsulated within the context. The term "shell" suggests its capability to encapsulate and convey information. Previous studies have focused primarily on the textual and interpersonal functions of SNs, often neglecting the comparative analysis of shell noun usage in Chinese and English discourses. To address this gap, this study conducts a comparative analysis of the use of SNs in English and Chinese based on a self-established corpus comprising three groups: 30 Chinese research papers written by Chinese scholars from Foreign Language Teaching and Research (外语教学与研究), 30 English research papers written by Chinese scholars, and 30 English research papers written by native English scholars from Studies in Second Language Acquisition over the past five years. The results are analyzed in terms of the overall distribution of SNs, the structural distribution of shell noun patterns, high-frequency SNs, and the category distribution of SNs. The findings reveal a similarity in the use of SNs by Chinese scholars in their Chinese and English papers, while there is a significant difference in the use of SNs between Chinese scholars and native English scholars in English articles

The study addresses the issue of how students perceive the readability of the instructional materials they use. This qualitative research investigates the phenomenon of students' perceptions holistically, presenting the results in the form of words and sentences. Thirty-eight students from two classes enrolled in the Method of Teaching English as a Foreign Language course this semester were selected as the research subjects. To collect qualitative data, questionnaires, interviews, and observations were employed. The collected data were then analyzed using descriptive qualitative research methods, which include data collection, data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the majority of students have a positive perception of the readability of the learning materials used. Students felt that the instructional materials were easy to understand and helped them grasp the concepts being taught. However, some students pointed out that certain parts of the materials were too complex and required further explanation. Based on these findings, it is recommended that instructors take into account student feedback regarding the instructional materials and make adjustments as necessary. Instructors are also advised to provide additional explanations or supplementary materials for sections that students find challenging. Furthermore, it is crucial for instructors to continuously evaluate and update the learning materials to ensure they remain relevant and easily accessible to all students. By doing so, the learning process can be more effective and efficient

Abstract

This research aims to explore the effectiveness of early intervention strategies in supporting the mental health and social development of young children through a qualitative approach. The problem addressed in this study is the lack of in-depth understanding regarding the experiences of children, parents, and educators in implementing early interventions in preschool settings. To achieve this objective, the study utilizes a case study method with in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis in three preschools that have implemented intervention programs and selected through purposive sampling technique to ensure diversity of experiences and perceptions. The findings indicate that interventions involving structured play therapy, parent-child interaction sessions, and teacher-led social skills training contribute positively to enhancing children's emotional regulation and social abilities. Children show improvements in managing emotions and interacting with their peers. Parents and educators report increased confidence in children's communication and collaboration skills. Based on these findings, it is recommended that preschools integrate these intervention strategies more widely and systematically into their curricula. This research also suggests the development of ongoing training for educators on effective early intervention practices to strengthen their capacity to support comprehensive child development
