Psikologia: Jurnal Pemikiran dan Penelitian Psikologi is a peer-reviewed scientific journal in psychology, managed by the Faculty of Psychology Universitas Sumatera Utara. The journal aims to accommodate the exchange of ideas among Indonesian psychologists and scientists, but also to disseminate their scientific propositions and empirical findings to the global community. Since 2016, the journal has been published in an electronic form to facilitate the rapid dissemination of research findings. The journal focuses on bringing psychological science theory, empirical evidence, and practice to explain and provide solutions to social and behavioral problems that are especially relevant but not limited to Indonesian society. As such, we accept a wide range of research domains in psychology, including social psychology, industrial and organizational psychology, educational psychology, developmental psychology, and clinical psychology. We believe that human behaviors and societal problems can be approached through various methodologies. For this reason, we accept not only sound and reproducible quantitative studies but also the rich narratives of qualitative inquiries. We also encourage the mix of both methodologies. By considering that most psychological research has been conducted among WEIRD (Western, Educated, Industrialized, Rich, and Democratic) samples, we believe that it is important to test and replicate mainstream psychological theories and findings among Indonesian in particular and other non-WEIRD societies in general. As such, we promote not only new and novel ideas but also studies that are aimed to validate mainstream psychological theories and research

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of time management, self-confidence, and business capital on entrepreneurial stress among MSME food court actors in Banjarmasin. The research involved 100 respondents selected using purposive sampling. A quantitative approach was applied using multiple linear regression analysis with SPSS. Data were collected through structured questionnaires that met validity and reliability requirements. The results indicate that, in part, time management and self-confidence do not have a significant effect on entrepreneurial stress, whereas business capital does. Simultaneously, all independent variables significantly influence entrepreneurial stress. The coefficient of determination (R²) indicates that the independent variables explain a portion of entrepreneurial stress. These findings suggest that external factors, particularly business capital, play a more dominant role compared to internal psychological factors in influencing entrepreneurial stress.

Abstract

This study developed and evaluated an emotional intelligence scale for elementary school students using a quantitative design. We purposively sampled 206 students in grades 4–6 from Samarinda, Indonesia. To clarify, the process began with identifying emotional intelligence constructs, then formulating related indicators, and finally drafting initial scale items. Next, five experts reviewed the items to provide expert judgment. After incorporating feedback, we tested the instrument with the student participants. We assessed content validity with Aiken’s V, measured construct validity with Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), and evaluated reliability using Cronbach’s Alpha. The model fit well (CFI = 0.936; TLI = 0.918; RMSEA = 0.069; SRMR = 0.068) and showed high reliability (α = 0.923). These results show the scale is valid, reliable, and suitable for educational use in assessing emotional intelligence in elementary students

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between the parent-child relationship and online grooming risk in early adolescents in Agam Regency. The increase in internet use among adolescents is followed by an increased risk of online crime, including online grooming, which the victim is often unaware of. Early adolescents are highly vulnerable due to their need for social affiliation and their limited ability to recognize the risks of online interactions. This study uses a quantitative, correlational design. The study participants were 180 adolescents aged 13-17 years, selected using incidental sampling. Data were collected using the Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment (IPPA) and the Online Grooming Risk Scale (OGR-S). Data analysis uses Pearson product-moment correlation. Results showed a significant negative relationship between parent-child relationship and online grooming risk (r = -0.735). These findings show that the parent-child relationship has the potential to be a protective factor in reducing the risk of online grooming in early adolescents.

Abstract

Conflict is an inherent phenomenon in organizations arising from differences in interests, values, and individual perceptions. Although numerous studies have examined conflict management, existing research tends to be fragmented and has not comprehensively integrated the simultaneous roles of interpersonal communication and leadership style in influencing organizational performance and remains limited to specific sectoral contexts. This study aims to synthesize empirical and conceptual findings related to the dynamics of conflict management in organizations and to identify key factors influencing its effectiveness. The method employed is a literature review of 10 scientific articles published between 2021 and 2026, analyzed using a thematic approach. The findings indicate that organizational conflict is influenced by differences in interests, limited resources, communication barriers, as well as structural and cultural factors. Effective conflict management contributes to improved performance, productivity, job satisfaction, and the interpersonal relationship quality, whereas ineffective management leads to negative impacts on performance and team collaboration. In addition, open interpersonal communication and adaptive leadership are identified as key factors in successful conflict management. This study contributes by integrating perspectives on conflict management, interpersonal communication, and leadership into a more comprehensive analytical framework, while also highlighting the importance of contextual approaches in enhancing the effectiveness of conflict management in organizations.
