Abstract

Each year, less than 1% of the population visits the Kubu Raya Regency Regional Public Library. This is due to the less strategic location of the library. In addition, the library space does not meet standard space requirements. Due to its geographical location, Kubu Raya Regency is included in a tropical climate with average temperatures and high rainfall. Therefore, a design method that can be adapted to the climate is needed to achieve comfort in the building. The purpose of the design of the Kubu Raya Regency Regional Public Library is to meet the comfort and space needs of the users by applying a modern tropical architectural approach. The design is done through several stages, starting from data collection, analysis, concept synthesis and design. The result of the design is the creation of a library building that is comfortable and can meet the needs of its users. The comfort of the building is achieved through a good lighting and ventilation system by creating an open space in the center of the building, making many openings, applying a cross ventilation system, adding a secondary skin and sun shading. To meet the needs of the user space, it is realized through the provision of space that is adjusted to the results of the analysis of the user space requirements and the standard space requirements for district / city public libraries. The building is rectangular in shape with a pitched roof. The side of the building is covered with a secondary skin of ACP and a sunshade with batik motifs typical of Kubu Raya.

Abstract

Education is essential to every citizen's existence. It does not exclude those with impairments (differently abled). Article 5 of The Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2003 states, "Citizens with physical, emotional, mental, intellectual, and/or social disabilities shall have the right to special education." Special education is an education reserved entirely for pupils with disabilities (differently abled), including people who are blind, people who are deaf, people with quadriplegia, or people with psychiatric disabilities (mentally disabled). Certainly, every location contains individuals with disabilities. In order to fulfil the mandate of Article 5 of Law No. 20 of the Republic of Indonesia from 2003, people with disabilities deserve an education infrastructure that meets their needs. Due to this, special needs schools must be specifically constructed to provide teaching-learning activities that can aid in the development of the student's potential. The biophilic concept is one of a number of concepts that can be used to generate the aforementioned situation. Biophilic is an architectural idea that fosters a harmonious link between humans and nature. The objective of biophilic design is to create an environment that is conducive to the physical and mental growth of humans. Biophilic is employed because it may establish tranquility and calm through the building's connection to nature, and the application of this design is anticipated to improve the quality of education for students.

Abstract

Indonesian people are still not used to living separately from elderly family members. Urban areas such as Kubu Raya are included in developing cities where people are dominated by productive age. Elderly people who are not productive and have decreased body functions have different activities. Based on data from public health centers in Kubu Raya, there is no special health service building for the elderly. Special programs for the elderly are only offered in the form of elderly posyandu and nursing homes. Kubu Raya still lacks elderly-friendly public facilities. Especially for natural problems suffered by the elderly both from common (physical) diseases to psychological problems. The design objective is to produce a design of facilities that accommodate the needs of the elderly. The design method is carried out through several stages, namely the idea of theme ideas, problem identification, data collection, analysis, synthesis, and design stages. The result is the concept of a Healthy Elderly Home that provides nature in the space. Facilitating the physical and psychological activity needs of the elderly which is a measure of elderly health. The concept of a therapeutic environment and healthy living modifications in a customized design. Natural elements are believed to have elements that have a positive impact such as improving quality of life, diverting depression, and calming the soul.

Abstract

Culinary is a basic need that is related to the cultural results of society. In an effort to preserve culinary culture, it is necessary to design a culinary tourism center as a recreation area to reflect the characteristics of the city of Pontianak. From a geographical perspective, the city of Pontianak is divided by the Kapuas Riverlandscape city, so it can be realized aspoint of view main. Designing a culinary tourism center by optimizing visual contact that prioritizes the river body as the front porch of the building so as to create public open space to increase community accessibility to the use of water bodies. To realize development that does not damage the environmental conditions of rivers, sustainable development is needed with an environmentally friendly architectural approach. The design is planned to create a healthy space through the selection of building materials and systems applied. Design has three main functions, namely recreational, commercial and service. The results of the design are design products for buildings with dynamic articulated forms to create a recreational atmosphere. The main aim of the design is to create a recreational space to accommodate street vendors and culinary-related facilities with spatial planning on the banks of the Kapuas river, Pontianak City. The building consists of three masses arranged radially to create natural ventilation and lighting that can be oriented to the mass of the building as well as circulation from all directions.

Abstract

Madu Sari Village is a village in Sungai Raya District that has a large area of land in the form of peat, with the potential to become a village that produces horticultural commodities. Madu Sari Village can supply ±600 pineapples per week when it is not in season and ±2,000 pineapples per week when it is in season. This village can be further developed to become an agrotourism destination. The formulation of the problem for this final assignment is "What are the facilities needed and their design to realize pineapple agrotourism in Madu Sari Village, Kubu Raya Regency, as an agrotourism-based tourism destination?" The aim of designing this final project is to develop a design concept that can be used as a reference for the development of effective and efficient agrotourism to accommodate activities and provide tourist facilities. The design method used in solving problems in agrotourism design uses the five-step design process method in the book "Introduction to Architecture" (Snyder and Catanese, 1984). Referring to the potential and existing conditions of the area, the site concept was developed through the Open Space concept, which resulted in a building design consisting of three regional zones, namely the reception zone, recreation zone, and education zone. The results of this design are expected to have an impact on the community, especially pineapple farmers in Madu Sari Village, as well as improving the economy and pineapple cultivation as a tourism development in Kubu Raya Regency in the form of a design reference based on human potential, site potential, and natural potential.

Abstract

Sungai Kakap Village is a coastal village located at the mouth of the Kapuas River. Sungai Kakap Village offers coastal culinary delights such as seafood and coastal environments often used as photo spots for the enchanting sunrise and sunset. The potential of this coastal area is applied to the design of a floating restaurant. There are four methods used in designing the floating restaurant. Firstly, the design object is the "Sungai Kakap Floating Restaurant." Secondly, the types of data and data collection techniques used include collecting primary and secondary data through observation, documentation, interviews, and literature sources. Thirdly, there are analysis techniques, divided into technical analysis and synthesis techniques that produce conceptual conclusions from site analysis such as zoning and circulation. The fourth stage is the design stage, which is the final stage. Based on the explanation, the potential of Sungai Kakap Village can be developed into an attractive restaurant. The attraction of the restaurant lies in utilizing the coastal potential, where the potential of the coastal area is applied to the design of a floating restaurant. The applied floating concept includes the building's image as a restaurant, the building being open and environmentally friendly, and the building having outward orientation and inviting the public.

Abstract

Scouting activities are established as mandatory activities in every school in West Kalimantan. Scout activities are inseparable from camp activities. Camp activities require facilities or containers to house these activities. However, camp facilities in West Kalimantan are still minimal and some are inadequate. The Kubu Raya Regency government is preparing to build a campground and urban forest tourism centered in Limbung, Sungai Raya District. The local government is also maximizing the tourism aspect in accordance with Kubu Raya Regency Regional Regulation Number 17 of 2017. The basic purpose of this design is to produce a design regarding campground tourism in Kubu Raya Regency which can accommodate scouting and similar activitie accompanied by tourist attractions. The stages of the design process are carried out by collecting data, analyzing and synthesizing, and the design stage. The concept of the resulting design area is in the form of a function concept so that the resulting design area is divided into a reception zone, recreation zone, management zone, and camp zone. The circulation of the area consists of pedestrian and vehicle circulation and uses boundary, directional, shading, and ornamental vegetation. The building mass is placed in each zone according to its function and is made with the same characteristics to create an image of the area as well as a form that follows the concept of function and the use of natural colors in the building gives a natural impression resembling natural conditions. The structure of the lower part of the building uses a pile foundation, the middle structure uses a concrete structure, the upper structure uses light steel, adjusting to existing conditions and space functions.

Abstract

West Kalimantan, the XIXth Tourist Destination Area, is home to arts and culture as its main attractions. However, there is no dedicated space for marketing artistic products and organizing artistic activities. So a design is needed that can support tourism potential in the trade sector in the form of the art market. The basic aim of this design is to produce a design for the art market in Kubu Raya Regency as a forum for buying and selling products and organizing art activities. The design process involves data collection, analysis, synthesis, and pre-design drawings and detailed engineering designs. The design uses a city walk concept to maintain continuity with the surrounding environment. The result is an area with three building masses: the reception building, the workshop and gallery building, and the art market building. These buildings are connected by a pedestrian path, offering facilities like creative art space, picnic area, street food area, and amphitheater. The building's shape adapts to the branding of Kubu Raya Regency, Rising Kubu Raya, applied to the facade with secondary skin with a muare wave motif.

Abstract

Currently, the Student Activity Center (Pusgiwa) in Tanjungpura University faces both physical (structural) and non-physical (user habit) issues that makes the Pusgiwa area ineffective for student activities. The facilities are inadequate and misused. This final project aims to design a more adequate Student Activity Center for Untan students, incorporating an open concept while considering contextual aspects and the physical and non-physical issues experienced in the previous design. The design methodology employed is Richard Whitaker's eight-step design process, encompassing five steps in design and three post-design steps. Richard Whitaker's five design steps include initiation, definition, preparation, analysis, and synthesis. The three post-design steps consist of temporal evaluation, alternative solution evaluation, and final reevaluation. The outcome of the design is an open Pusgiwa area that fulfills the student"™s activities needs. The new design addresses both the physical and non-physical issues found in the old Pusgiwa, providing facilities that better suit the needs of Untan students and a system accommodating the habits of the users, including security, cleanliness, and access for student fundraising efforts. The open design is implemented to foster a sense of community and place for students without compromising the primary function of the Pusgiwa area as a student activity zone.
