Abstract

Local residents of West Borneo have expertise in producing variety of traditional crafts, one of which is woven fabrics, which is no less competitive with other regions. But there are several problems regarding the lack of facilities and infrastructure, such as less productive weaving processes, exhibitions that are held irregularly, difficulty of marketing products and no place for discussion. Therefore, the need of a place to product, exhibit, and market the products of West Borneo woven fabrics called "Center of West Borneo Weaving Craft Gallery in Pontianak" is essential. The design process starts from the analysis of functions which are divided into 3 groups, such as the main function group is commercial function, the extension function group is to produce recreation, education and performance function, while the other support function group is to produce management and service functions. The design applies theme of contemporary architecture as an approach that will support the creation of spaces that have harmonization, interactive, innovative and iconic concepts. The appeal of the idea design building shape is the philosophy of the analogy from winding’s tool which is divided into three parts and produces the main building, workshop building and multipurpose building. The number of floors for each building is almost the same which is two floors, except for the multipurpose building, which is one floor. The line movement from height of the building mass illustrates the existence of sustainability by creating an environment that represents aesthetic value and the harmonization of local culture to modernization.

Abstract

Pontianak, a densely populated urban center divided by rivers into three distinct development zones, faces significant fire risk. This research delves into Pontianak's density and accessibility, aiming to craft a resilient city map to effectively combat fire disasters and bolster urban resilience. Its objective is to offer a comprehensive, evidence-based analysis of urban challenges, specifically related to fire risk. Employing a quantitative approach alongside grounded theory analysis, this study investigates how population density and accessibility intertwine within a designated grid. It involves calculating the total building area to establish population distribution and assessing city route accessibility using step-depth space syntax analysis. The results address potential threats, such as the absence of fire stations in certain areas, and underscore the city's weakness, specifically its ineffective accessibility. The output of this study is a gridded map that shows the risk level of each area in Pontianak, raising awareness among citizens and encouraging proactive measures, such as equipping homes with fire extinguishers and adopting fire-resistant materials during construction.

Abstract

Agrotourism is an effort to boost the economy by utilizing the agricultural sector as its main focus. Agrotourism is a type of activity that attracts tourists by offering farming experiences and involving local residents in the planning and management processes of the area. One of the agrotourism destinations in Kubu Raya Regency is Rekadena Agrotourism located on Jeruju Besar Street, Sungai Kakap District, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan. The Rekadena Agrotourism Park area has several facilities such as vehicle parking areas, outbound activities, camping grounds, fishing ponds, restaurants, halls, health clinics, and prayer rooms. However, the Rekadena Agrotourism Park has not yet met several standards of facilities and infrastructure in tourism. The objective of this design is to redesign the Rekadena Agrotourism Park in accordance with the standards of facilities and infrastructure and to provide job opportunities for the local community in Kubu Raya Regency. The concept used in this design emphasizes the objectives and functions of the buildings or areas themselves. The method used in this design refers to Richard Whitaker's design method, which includes the stages of introducing Rekadena Agrotourism Park, identifying issues for redesigning Rekadena Agrotourism Park, collecting theories related to agrotourism parks, analyzing design standards, developing concepts, completing the design, and creating pre-design drawings and technical drawings. The result of this design is the redesign of Rekadena Agrotourism Park in Kubu Raya Regency.
