Abstract

A North Sumatra Province is still one of the filariasis endemic areas with the number of cases recorded during 2012-2017 as many as 152 cases were converted at 1.10 per 100,000 population. This study aims to determine the risk factors for filariasis in North Sumatra Province. This study uses a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional study design. The type of data in this study is secondary data for Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) 2018 in January-August 2021. The number of samples in this study has gone through the data cleaning process and obtained as many as 59,210 samples. This data analysis technique used descriptive univariate analysis. The results obtained from the incidence of filariasis in North Sumatra Province as many as 623 (1.1%), with the age of the majority of respondents >24 years as many as 35,265 (59.6%), the majority being female as many as 30,499 (51.5%), the majority being education in the low category was 39,984 (67.5%), working status was 35,776 (60.4%), the majority lived in rural areas as much as 33,117 (55.9%), the majority used mosquito nets as much as 36,167 (61.1%), the majority of respondents did not use Reppelent 30,414 (51.4%), the majority of respondents did not install mosquito netting as many as 49,712 (84.0%), the majority of respondents did not consume filariasis prevention drugs as many as 51. 389 (86.8%) with the incidence of filariasis. It is hoped that the North Sumatra Provincial Health Office will coordinate with the district/city health offices in North Sumatra Province to maximize the consumption of filariasis drugs

Abstract

Since the inception of social health insurance, patient demand for traditional medicine services in health care facilities has decreased. There are over a dozen statutes, regulations, and policies governing the use of traditional medicines in health care settings. The service, implementation of OT guarantees with social health insurance, clinician readiness, and government support are all examined. This study aims to ascertain who owns social health insurance and who utilizes traditional health services. This is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design conducted in North Sumatra Province in July-August 2021. The sample for this study consisted of respondents from North Sumatra Province, with 1000 respondents via Google Form. This study analyzed data using univariate analysis. The findings indicate that 59.6 per cent of respondents experienced illness in the last 30 days of the study, with symptoms ranging from mild to severe. 338 (33.8 per cent) of respondents had never used traditional medicine. The majority of people in urban areas prefer modern health facilities to traditional medicine total of 194 respondents (19.4 per cent) prefer to practice traditional medicine independently. Traditional medicine services are incorporated into the path of prevention, promotion, and mild curative efforts, both as adjuvants and complements to conventional medicine. Traditional medicine can be financed through government funding but has not been done so. A ministerial decree requiring health facilities to provide services using traditional medicines is still required.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic degenerative disease. This study is an analytical observational study with a case-control design that looks at the risk factors for irreversible diabetes mellitus at the Ujung Kubu Health Center in 2020. The population is all patients who have visited the Ujung Kubu Health Center. The sample consisted of 105 control groups and 110 case groups. Sampling technique with total sampling. The type of secondary data belongs to the Ujung Kubu Health Center. It was collecting data by analyzing raw data using a questionnaire. Diabetes mellitus was identified in 55.3% of the family history and relatively common in women 67.4%. The average age of DM patients was 42 years, with blood sugar levels of 184.55 Mg/dl (95% CI 176.27-193.94). DM is still a concern regarding risk factors, especially those that cannot be changed.

Abstract

In Indonesia the percentage of women experiencing anemia increased to 48.9% with its proportion in the age group of 15-24 years. This clearly reinforces that adolescent health is crucial in the success of health development, especially in the effort to print the quality of the. This is an analytical survey research design with cross sectional approach. The sample was used purposive sampling with a total of 51 people from a population of 69 people. Sampling with non-random sampling technique used a questionnaire. Hb level test was done by using Easy Touch digital hemometer.Univariate test results of menstrual pattern based on menstrual cycles the majority of adolescents experience a normal menstrual cycle amount 27 people (47.1%), while based on the length of menstruation the majority of girls experience menstrual abnormalities amount 28 people (54.9%). The results of bivariate test with chi square test showed there was a relationship between menstrual patterns both from the menstrual cycle (p-value = .003 <.05) and menstrual time (p-value = 0.000 <.05) with the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls of SMA PAB 5 Klumpang Deli Serdang Tahun 2021.The conclusion shows that there is a significant relationship between menstrual patterns with the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls of SMA PAB 5 Klumpang Deli Serdang. It is expected that adolescent girls should pay attention to food intake and meet iron needs from natural sources.

Abstract

Individually, hypertension or DM increases the risk of cardiovascular disease and the risk increases sharply when the two coexist and it cause a premature death. This quantitative descriptive study with a cross- sectional design aims to describe the prevalence and risk factors for participants obtained from the 2018 RISKESDAS secondary data were recruited in this study. The results showed that the prevalence of hypertension in People with Diabetes Mellitus in Indonesia was 37,4%. The majority of People with Diabetes Mellitus in Indonesia who suffer from hypertension are female, aged ? 45 years, have low education, have DM duration in the old category (? 10 years), lack of physical activity, lack of fruit and vegetable consumotion, eat fatty foods < 1 serving/day, having obesity and having mental-emotional disorders.

Abstract

Breast milk is an ideal source of nutrition because it is balanced in composition and meets the growing needs of the infant. Exclusive breastfeeding is a form of healthy behavior for infants. The research design is an analytical survey utilizing an explanatory research factors and the dependent variable of mother's willingness to breastfeed exclusively. The chi square test and logistic regression were used in this study's analysis. The results indicated that the chisquare test indicated that there is a relationship between predisposing and reinforcing factors and nursing mothers' willingness to breastfeed exclusively. There is no correlation between enabling factors and breastfeeding mothers' willingness to breastfeed exclusively. The result of the logistic regression test indicates that predisposing and reinforcing variables have an effect on nursing mothers' willingness to breastfeed exclusively. Predisposing variables are the most important factor affecting breastfeeding mothers' willingness to breastfeed exclusively. It is recommended that Polonia Puskesmas staff improve breastfeeding mothers' attitudes and motivation toward exclusive breastfeeding by counseling them on the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for infants during pregnancy and lactation.

Abstract

The quality of health services in Indonesia is still not in line with people's expectations, even though in Indonesia it provides health insurance for the underprivileged or the poor. Currently, patient satisfaction services are the main focus in the context of health services. factors and listen to patient desires. at UPTD Public Health Centre DTP Bandar, Bandar Subdistrict, Bener Meriah Regency in 2020. Methods; The type of research conducted is cross sectional, the sampling technique is accidental sampling using a questionnaire with a total sample of 95 outpatients. Results; The results of the research on each indicator obtained the following percentages where based on patient satisfaction the majority was quite satisfied at 58.9%. The majority of physical evidence said 34.7% was sufficient, the majority said sufficient reliability was 46.3%. The majority response was good at 48.4%. The majority concern was good at 46.3%, while the majority assurance indicator said it was not good at 38.9%.

Abstract

Midwives as health workers who assist in childbirth are a very important factor in the practice of Early Breastfeeding Initiation and most midwives do not implement it. This will affect the implementation of the Exclusive Breastfeeding program. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between midwives' breastfeeding with low coverage of exclusive breastfeeding. The method used was an analytical survey (Explanatory Research) with a cross sectional approach. The population is all midwives who work in the Kuala District Health Center, Kuala District, Langkat Regency as many as 31 people. The sample, namely the entire population, became a total sampling with Chi-Squere analysis. Based on the results of the analysis of the Relationship of Midwives' Attitudes regarding Implementation of Early Breastfeeding Initiation with Low Exclusive Breastfeeding Coverage, it was found that the negative attitude of midwives with the target not being achieved was 19 respondents (61.3%) and positive attitude as many as 12 respondents (38.7%). Based on a population of 31 respondents, the results of statistical tests obtained p value = 0.006 <0.05, so it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between Midwives' Attitudes About Early Initiation of Breastfeeding Implementation and Low Exclusive Breastfeeding Coverage. The research is that there is a relationship between midwives' attitudes about the implementation of Early Initiation of Breastfeeding with the low coverage of exclusive breastfeeding. Midwives are expected to be able to increase a positive attitude about the implementation of Early Initiation of Breastfeeding as an effort to increase exclusive breastfeeding.

Abstract

Smoking behaviour has become a risk factor for many diseases. The government has made various efforts in reducing the number of smokers. One of them issued a policy of embedding pictorial health warnings on cigarette packs. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of pictorial smoking warnings on the desire to quit smoking. This study is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional research design using primary data. This research was conducted in Indonesia in January-August 2021. The research population is all Indonesian people who smoke and do not smoke. The research sample was 463 people. The sampling technique used was random sampling. The research instrument used a questionnaire, with data collection techniques using google form. Analysis of the data used is a univariate analysis to see the frequency distribution of each variable. The results showed that the respondents were afraid after seeing the pictorial health warnings on cigarette packs as many as 366 people (79%) with a strong desire to quit smoking as many as 311 people (67.2%). This means that pictorial health warnings on cigarette packs are more effective than written warnings. It is hoped that the government can enlarge the health warnings on cigarette packs to reduce the number of cigarette consumption in Indonesia

Abstract

The Indonesian Ministry of Health targets 50% cancer early detection coverage program for women aged 30-50 years to be achieved in 2019. Until 2014, the coverage for early detection of cervical cancer that has been carried out is still low, namely 2.45% with positive pap smear results. 4.94% and cervical cancer suspects as many as 1,056 people. In Indonesia, cervical cancer is the number one killer of all cancers. The aim of the study was to determine the factors that influence the interest of women with PUS to do Pap smear at the Suka Makmur Poskesdes Kota Subulussalam in 2020The design of this study was a quantitative analytic survey using a cross sectional study. The total population was 210 respondents and the sample used Accidental Sampling as many as 42 respondents. The data used were primary and secondary data. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate.The results of the study were obtained by using the chi square test, there was an effect of knowledge p = 0.011, there was an effect of information sources p = 0.004, there was an effect of distance to health facilities p = 0.034 on the interest of women with PUS to do papsmear at Poskesdes Suka Makmur, Subulussalam City in 2020.The conclusion is there is the influence of knowledge, information sources and distance to health facilities on the interest of women with PUS to do Pap smear at the Suka Makmur Poskesdes Kota Subulussalam in 2020. It is hoped that health workers will provide information on WPUS so that it can increase awareness of women in fertile age in conducting pap smear examinations.
