Abstract

Monitoring is a condition or activity that is used to provide information about the cause of an action that is being carried out, to find out the condition of a tool or device  we are required to monitor it all the time so that we can know what information is or has happened to the device. Monitoring using IoT-based technology is a solution to the problems we face. In this paper, the author makes a web using the CodeIgniter framework. The CodeIgniter is an open or open source application based on the PHP framework with the MVC model or also commonly called the Model View Controller which is used to build a dynamic website using PHP code. The conclusion that can be obtained from study of website development with codeigniter frameworks is: in developing web-based applications, designers need a framework to simplify the work process. In its development, many frameworks have been created with features that simplify the performance process of an application. The frameworks that will be analyzed in this research are Codeigniter, the test analysis uses Load Test with a file size of 3401 KB. The Codeigniter has a higher average time and speed. In the average time value, Codeigniter has a greater time. time from the first minute to the end of the test minute is set with 3 minutes of testing successful session per second 2.41 seconds, successful page per second 2.44 seconds Respontime per second 0.50.

Abstract

Othello is a popular board game and is played by two players. Problems arise when there are no friends to play with or the player does not have a game device. To solve this problem, an Othello game application can be developed, so that players can play Othello against the computer. Research applies heuristic techniques in the game Othello. The heuristic technique calculates the number of player chips (points) that the computer can turn over on each tile or square. This number of points is then multiplied by the coefficient value of 1.5 if the square is on the side of the game, while the points obtained from the box in the corner of the board are multiplied by the coefficient value of 3. In the end, the computer will choose the box with the highest heuristic value. Thus, the heuristic technique will prioritize the placement of the pieces in the corner of the board, the side of the board and then the placement of the pieces in the middle of the board. The application applies artificial intelligence to the computer by using heuristic techniques, so that the computer will prioritize the placement of chips at the corners and edges of the board whenever possible.

Abstract

Insurance is an agreement between the insurance customer (the insured) and the insurance company (the insurer) regarding the transfer of risk from the customer to the insurance company. The risk transferred includes: the possibility of material losses that can be assessed with money experienced by the customer, as a result of the occurrence of an event that may / is not certain to occur. Accepting risk from the insured, insurance companies also have the same position where uncertainty about risk occurs. Thus, the insurance company can transfer the risk to another party, namely the reinsurance company. The insurance company pays a premium which will be cheaper than the premium charged to the insured. Of course, only a part of the sum insured is reinsured.

Abstract

CV. Era Langgeng Mandiri is a company engaged in fabrication and mechanics that implements a make-to-order production strategy. In the production of sparepart mesh polynet, defective products exceed the specified tolerance limit of 5%. Based on the data, defective products often occur during eva foam cutting. We were finding the root cause of the eva foam cutting process using the Six Sigma method with the DMAI approach (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve). The analysis using fishbone diagrams and 5 why's, found that the factor causing defect products is that the eva foam did not match the pattern. From the root of the problem, the improvement priority was selected using the FMEA, and the highest RPN was 327 in the machine factor. The design that can be done for the root of the problem on the machine factor is the design of the eva foam cutting tool. The design is carried out using the Quality Function Deployment method. The design of the proposed eva foam cutting tool is expected to minimize defect products in the eva foam cutting process as much as 80% of the number of previous defect products and increase process capability by measuring the current sigma level from 3,386 sigma to 3,593 sigma.

Abstract

This study discusses the measurement of partial discharge in air insulation. Partial Discharge measurement is very important to know the condition of electrical equipment. Partial discharge causes are not only old equipment, but also from set-up errors and insulation problems. In this research, partial discharge measurement is using non-electric method. The non-electric method uses a loop antenna sensor that detects electromagnetic waves generated by partial discharge. Modeling the occurrence of partial discharge with a needle-plate electrode at a distance of 1 cm with air insulation. Partial discharge measurement parameters include Background Noise (BGN) measurements, Partial Discharge Inception Voltage (PDIV) and Partial Discharge Waveforms. The different parameters of each discharge were analyzed based on the given voltage level. The resulting data is a discharge wave obtained from an oscilloscope. The resulting data is processed using origin software so that it can determine the characteristics of the amplitude, duration of rise time and fall time of the discharge that occurs. From the results, it is known that the amplitude and duration of the rise time and fall time is greater at discharge with a higher voltage. The discharge characteristics depend on the applied voltage.

Abstract

Attendance in Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) uses the manual attendance method. So it is less effective to implement, because manual attendance is not environmentally friendly and in the process fraud can still occur. In addition, the health protocols that we should have implemented both on campus and in classrooms must still exist considering this is a post-pandemic. Based on these problems, the purpose of this research is to make a prototype of the entrance and attendance access system which is carried out by utilizing the features on the NodeMCU ESP32. The design step is divided into 2, namely hardware and software design. The manufacturing process for the door access system is carried out by utilizing the Gy906 temperature sensor as a body temperature detector, a relay to turn on the pump, an IR proximity sensor to detect people who are going out, and a servo motor as an open- or closed-door driver. Next, the process of making attendances is carried out using a barcode on the KTM (Student Identity Card) which is connected to the application that has been made so that the output for the presence can be seen on a google spreadsheet. This tool can make it easier to make attendance and access entrances and exits without touching the door.

Abstract

Providing a return line for short-circuit currents or fault currents to a low-resistance ground, a grounding system is useful for achieving a uniform potential voltage over a given area of buildings and equipment. Because a large voltage difference can occur if a fault current is forced to ground against high resistance. Placement of the electrode to be planted is one of the elements to obtain a low grounding resistance value. Grounding resistance measurements, which will serve as a guide for the grounding system design process, are required during the planning stage for certain types of grounding systems. The problem is how the grounding resistance is affected by the buried depth of the rod conductor and the soil-type resistance. Therefore, it is very important to conduct research and testing to determine the extent to which these parameters influence. The experimental results of measuring resistance on dry and wet soils are on dry soil 30 cm obtained 98.48 Ω, 60 cm obtained 37.07 Ω, 90 cm obtained 20.52 Ω, 120 cm obtained 19.77 Ω, and for wet soil at a depth of 30 cm obtained 43.34 Ω, 60 cm obtained 22.21 Ω, 90 cm obtained 15.43 Ω, 120 cm obtained 11.66 Ω.
