Abstract

The study aimsto evaluated the activity of salam leaf (Syzygium polyanthum Walp) against subterranean termite (Coptotermes curvignathus Holmgren) and found the best level to inhibit the termite attack. Salam leaf was cut into small pieces, macerated with methanol for 24 hours, and evaporated with rotary evaporator. The essential oils were put into whatman paper with dosage level 0 ml; 0.1 ml;0.2 ml; 0.3 ml; 0.4 ml respectively. Then the paper put into medium of bioassay to termites for 3 days. The result of showet that dosage level 0.4 ml made 100% termites mortality with paper weight loss 0.42%. The higher dosage level resulted the higher mortality of termites. The optimal level of essential oils to inhibited the subterranean termites Coptotermes curvignathus Holmgren attack was achieved on level 0.3 ml. Abstract

The research aims to look at how much revenue from the hunting community actual sambar deer (Cervus unicolor, Brookei) and factors that affect people hunting sambar deer. The method used is the method descriptive with survey forms through interview techniques. Analysis of the data using two types of analysis, namely the descriptive to see income from the hunt sambar deer, the inferential analysis using the test - T (Paired samples T test) and multiple linear regression. There are differences in the actual income from the hunt sambar deer (Cervus unicolor, Brookei ) with earnings beyond sambar deer hunting. Test Results - t two variables ( Paired sample T-test ) there was significant difference between sambar deer hunting revenue swith arnings beyond sambar deer hunting. Chikuadarat test showed there was no significant difference in the level of motivation of the sambar deer hunt. Results showed linear statistical calculations 2 (three) independent variables affect the motivation of the sambar deer hunting community, accessibility (X3) and the level of know ledge (X4). Where as other variables did not affect the motivation of people like the sambar deer hunting income variable (X1), employment opportunities (X2), cosmopolitan (X5), hunting experience (X6), andage (X7). Abstract

Kelampuk village at Land Pinoh West Sub District Melawi District people have traditionally used medicinal plants that are nearby to treat various diseases. The aim of this study was to determine the types of medicinal plants and their use by communities around the Kelampuk village Land Pinoh West sub district Melawi District This study using snowball sampling techniques or performed in sequence to ask for information on people who have been interviewed or contacted in advance. Results of research concluded that the most widely type of plant commonly used are 51 species from 41 family. The level of habitus are 24 herbaceous species. While based part in use, then mostly the leaves as many as 31 species. Then, by way of processing by way of ground as many as 23 species, and if viewed the use of that method taped as many as 24 species. While based on the use to treat diseases of the outside there are 32 species, and based on the form of a single herb potion then there are 51 species. Abstract

Herpetofauna is fauna group consisting of reptiles and amphibians. This study aims to determine the diversity of herpetofauna at Lekawai Resort in Area Bukit Baka Bukit Raya National Park West Kalimantan . The method of data collection was done by using Visual Encounter Survey (VES) combining with of tracking systems. Herpetofauna found as many as 35 species which are divided into 24 kinds of amphibians and 11 species of reptiles. Air humidity ranged between 81 % - 85 %, air temperature 270C - 290C, water temperature 220C - 240C and pH of water 6. Highest species diversity index in aquatic habitats by H'= 0.996 and the lowest in terrestrial habitats that H'= 0.957. The highest evenness index in aquatic habitats that are e= 0.765 and lowest in terrestrial habitats is e= 0.724. However, the similarity index value types (S) between the two habitats is obtained with a value of 0.3. The highest abundance of amphibians in class Limnonectes kuhlii ie by 18 % . Relative abundance of reptiles found in the type of class Eutropis rudis of 5.4 %. The largest Chance encounter was belonged types Limnonectes kuhlii of 0.643 individuals / hour. Abstract

This study aims to look at the content and potential of biomass and carbon stored in forest stumpage meranti, to see the potential of meranti wood plant stand to absorb CO2 from the atmosphere, and to develop allometric equations of potential biomass, carbon stocks and sequestration of CO2 by growth dimensions (diameter) for the relationship between the diameter of the potential of biomass, the relationship between the diameter of the carbon potential, and the relationship between the diameter of the CO2 sequestration potential .. The results showed that the potential of tree biomass (kg / ha) on the plant Shorea leprosula based on 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and 8 age classes ranging from 1787.39 to 16.74 gr. While the carbon potential crop trees Shorea leprosula ranged from 1046.13 to 10.88 kg. Potential plant Shorea leprosula 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and 8 year old to absorb CO2 (kg / tonne) from the atmosphere ranges from 4243.7 to 58.97 kg. Allometric equations that manggambarkan-diameter tree biomass relationship is Y = 63.180 D1, 680. Allometric equations that manggambarkan-carbon tree diameter relationship is Y = 33.627 D1, 683. Allometric equations that manggambarkan-diameter relationship of CO2 absorption is Y = 123.394 D1, 687. Key words : biomass, carbon, meranti, diameter

Only 28 species were found at the time of observation. Based on usability, quality value that is most widely used as a myth, while the little used that as a result of analysis using indicator. Cultural Values Index, the highest cultural values derived from species that have become a kind of domestication is Gallus domesticus (Gallus sp) with a score of 60 and score value ICS 3, while the value of the lowest cultural interests acquired from bird species Ixobrychus cinnamomeus value cultural interests 0.25 which means to have a score of 1.   Key Words : Bird, etno-ornithology and local wisdom
