Abstract

Introduction: Agriculture is an important economic sector that provides food and employment opportunities, particularly in rural areas. However, the declining interest of the younger generation in agriculture has created challenges for farmer regeneration. Despite this condition, some rural youth continue to engage in the agricultural sector. Therefore, this study aims to examine the motivation of young people to remain involved in the agricultural sector and identify the factors influencing their participation in Karangpatihan Village, Pulung District, Ponorogo Regency. Research Method: This study employed a qualitative research method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving young people engaged in the agricultural sector. The data were analyzed descriptively to understand the motivations and influencing factors behind youth involvement in agriculture. Results: The findings show that young people remain involved in the agricultural sector because agriculture is perceived as a legitimate source of income that can fulfill family needs. In addition, flexible working hours and feelings of satisfaction and peace while working in agriculture strengthen their motivation. The existence of middlemen also facilitates crop marketing and provides capital support, increasing youth interest in agriculture. Furthermore, the motivation of the younger generation is influenced by cultural factors, such as farming traditions passed down through generations within the family; social factors, including rural environments dominated by agricultural land and limited employment opportunities; and psychological factors, such as pride, self-confidence, satisfaction, and comfort in agricultural work. Conclusion: This study concludes that the agricultural sector continues to be viewed by rural youth as a viable source of livelihood that provides economic, social, and psychological benefits. Cultural, social, and psychological factors play significant roles in encouraging the younger generation to remain involved in the agricultural sector.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the green economy concept in melon cultivation in Plancungan Village using a descriptive qualitative approach. The research is significant because the agricultural sector faces the challenge of maintaining productivity while ensuring environmental sustainability. The findings indicate that green economy practices are implemented through the use of organic fertilizers, the utilization of rice husks, and proper waste management. Supporting factors include soil fertility and the availability of environmentally friendly agricultural inputs, while inhibiting factors consist of harvest delays and limited access to external training for farmers. The implementation of the green economy generates positive impacts, including a healthier working environment, greater cost efficiency, increased consumer interest, and improved melon production productivity. These findings highlight the potential of green economy practices to support sustainable agricultural development and serve as a reference for the wider adoption of environmentally sustainable farming systems.

Abstract

Although halal certification has become mandatory in Indonesia, many micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have not formally implemented Halal Supply Chain Management (HSCM), creating challenges in ensuring halal integrity throughout the supply chain. Previous studies have mainly focused on HSCM implementation, with limited attention to halal critical points and stakeholder perceptions in relation to consumer trust. This study aims to analyze the implementation of HSCM at the Rembukidul Tofu Factory in Mojokerto Regency, identify halal critical points, examine stakeholder perceptions, and assess their implications for product quality and consumer trust. A qualitative case study approach was employed using semi-structured interviews with nine purposively selected informants and direct field observations. Data were analyzed based on four HSCM dimensions: halal procurement, halal manufacturing, halal distribution, and halal logistics, using the Halal Assurance System (HAS 23000) as the analytical framework. The findings indicate that HSCM implementation remains informal and does not fully comply with formal halal assurance standards. Three halal critical points were identified: the use of homemade fermented vinegar without laboratory verification, inadequate pest control, and the use of open containers during distribution. Despite these shortcomings, consumer trust remains strong, primarily driven by consistent product quality, long-term purchasing experience, and the factory's reputation rather than formal halal certification. This study contributes to the HSCM literature by highlighting the gap between informal halal practices and formal halal assurance while explaining how consumer trust is sustained in a community-based food MSME despite the absence of formal halal certification.

Abstract

Introduction: Price determination is a key strategic decision affecting revenue and consumer behavior in the pharmaceutical sector. Demand elasticity is used to measure price sensitivity, but its estimation may be biased due to price endogeneity, requiring a more robust econometric approach. Research Methods: This study uses transaction data from Hospital X, including drug codes, prices, quantities, and HNA. Data are cleaned by removing missing values and trimming outliers at the 1st–99th percentile. Instrumental variables are constructed from HNA using lag, moving average, and differencing, and selected dynamically per product based on the highest first-stage F-statistic. Elasticity is estimated using a log-log model with Two-Stage Least Squares (2SLS) or Ordinary Least Squares (OLS), guided by the Durbin-Wu-Hausman test. Results: The results show that after preprocessing and structural selection criteria, 13 drug products were analyzed using elasticity estimation. The estimated price elasticity values ranged from -0.2249 to -4.3687, indicating different levels of consumer sensitivity toward price changes across products. Based on the comparison between estimated elasticity and break-even elasticity, four inelastic products were recommended for price increases, while nine elastic products were not recommended due to higher demand sensitivity. Conclusion: The study concludes that dynamic IV selection combined with structural diagnostics effectively handles price endogeneity, providing robust elasticity estimates to support targeted pharmaceutical pricing decisions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Islamic digital marketing strategy implemented by Giyanda.co through Shopee and TikTok Shop to increase sales of hijab products, identify the reasons for using both platforms, and examine their impact on business development. This research employed a qualitative case study design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The informants were the business owner and the employees involved in Giyanda.Co’s digital marketing activities. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that Giyanda.co implements its Islamic digital marketing strategy by optimizing various features of Shopee and TikTok Shop, including live streaming, short-video content, hashtags, vouchers, discounts, and flash sales. In practice, the company emphasizes Islamic marketing principles, such as honesty, transparency in product information, fair pricing, and ethical communication, in line with Islamic values. The primary reason for choosing Shopee and TikTok Shop is their complementary functions: Shopee serves as a secure, trusted transaction platform, while TikTok Shop serves as a promotional medium that can reach a broader audience through interactive, potentially viral content. The implementation of these strategies has resulted in increased sales volume, wider market reach, enhanced brand awareness, stronger customer trust, and greater customer loyalty, as reflected in repeat purchases and positive customer reviews. This study concludes that integrating digital marketing with Islamic marketing principles is an effective strategy for increasing sales while fostering long-term relationships between businesses and consumers. The findings contribute to the development of Islamic digital marketing literature, particularly for Muslim fashion businesses operating on social commerce platforms

Abstract

Introduction: This research is motivated by the phenomenon of rising agricultural prices, which is one of the challenges faced by farming households in maintaining family economic stability. This condition requires households to be able to implement appropriate economic strategies. This is similar to what is experienced by farming households in Sambit District, Ponorogo, so strategies are needed to maintain the sustainability of the household economy. The research aims to analyze the economic strategies used by farming households in dealing with price increases, to analyze the reasons why farming households in Sambit District, Ponorogo, tend to store their harvests as a strategy to deal with price increases, and to analyze the impact of economic strategies on resilience to price increases. Methods: The study employed a qualitative approach with fieldwork in Sambit District, Ponorogo. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation of farming households in Sambit District, Ponorogo. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing using Frank Ellis's livelihood strategy theory, which emphasizes income diversification, household asset management, and economic risk management strategies from an Islamic economic perspective. The research results: show that farming households use more work to store their harvests and diversify their income. Harvests are stored to maintain food availability, save money for emergencies, and wait for more favorable prices. This strategy contributes to income stability and the sustainability of household consumption. This strategy aligns with the principles of maslahah (maslahah) , the prohibition of israf (israf), and hifz al-mal ( the need for wealth) from an Islamic economic perspective.

Abstract

Introduction: This study aims to examine the integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles and Islamic ethical finance in developing Islamic investment portfolios. Currently, Islamic investments emphasize Shariah compliance rather than prioritizing social and environmental aspects in stock screening. This study proposes a more comprehensive Islamic investment portfolio framework by aligning Islamic principles with sustainable finance practices to bridge this gap. Research Methods: This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with literature studies from various sources such as journals, regulations, and related documents. Results: The results of this study indicate that ESG aligns with the Maqasid Al-Shariah principles and can be used as a complement to the investment selection process. The study proposes a conceptual framework for integrating ESG and Islamic ethical finance through several key stages, including Sharia screening, ESG screening, ethics-based portfolio development, and continuous governance and monitoring. Conclusion: This study contributes by offering a conceptual model for integrating ESG and Islamic ethical finance into Islamic investment portfolio management. The proposed framework provides practical implications for investors and the Islamic finance industry in developing more sustainable, ethical, and socially responsible investment strategies, while also opening avenues for future empirical research.

Abstract

Introduction: Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) has become a prominent phenomenon among Generation Z, particularly in fashion consumption through TikTok Shop. Previous studies have primarily examined the relationship between FOMO and consumer behavior quantitatively, while limited research has explored how FOMO shapes consumer lifestyles through subjective experiences in digital environments. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the role of FOMO in the formation of Generation Z’s consumer lifestyle in fashion consumption on TikTok Shop. Research Methods: This study employed a qualitative field research approach involving 15 Generation Z university students at Universitas Islam Negeri Palangka Raya who actively use TikTok and have purchased fashion products through TikTok Shop. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using inductive descriptive analysis. Results: The findings indicate that FOMO emerges through repeated exposure to viral fashion content, social comparison with peers and influencers, and concerns about being left behind in trends. These experiences encourage impulsive purchasing decisions and normalize online shopping habits. Fashion consumption is increasingly driven by the desire for social recognition, self-expression, and digital identity construction rather than functional needs alone. Conclusion: FOMO plays a significant role in shaping the consumer lifestyle of Generation Z on TikTok Shop. Fashion consumption functions not only as an economic activity but also as a means of gaining social recognition and maintaining relevance in digital communities. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening digital and financial literacy to encourage more rational consumption behavior among Generation Z.
