DIVAGATRA - Jurnal Penelitian Mahasiswa Desain is a regular journal published by the Fakultas Desain, Universitas Komputer Indonesia. DIVAGATRA is published twice a year in April and October. This scientific journal aims to disseminate the scientific works of Diploma (D3), Bachelor (S1) and Master Degree (S2) students in the fields of design, art and culture. The focus and scope of articles that can be published by this journal are in the fields of Interior Design, Visual Communication Design and Graphic Design as well as other design and culture fields.

Abstract

The Majapahit Empire was a very succeeded empire in the 13th century, the Majapahit Empire was famous with best peoples on conquering a country, as evidenced by the invasion carried out by Majapahit by expanding territory to Vietnam. At time of the Empire, Majapahit had elite troops like the current KOPASSUS troops which became a feared force in Asia and in the world. The elite troops of the Majapahit Empire were called the Bhayangkara troops. The design of information in the introduction of the elite troops of the Majapahit Empire, that is Bhayangkara, uses an interesting and educational concept, because this design aims to provide information in a fun way to increase students interest in studying history. The visual style used is a cartoon drawing style so that the design is attractive to students and also inserts elements of history and tradition. The visual creations in this design take from several historical relics such as statue, reliefs, paintings, weapons, objects from the Majapahit Empire and the Mongols.

Abstract

Bima Suci is a college of pencak silat located in Kuningan, West Java, which in every exercise instills spiritual and moral values for its pesilat. Communities in Kuningan regency lack information about this, hence the need for information facilities provided by the community so that information about the values in Bima Suci can be conveyed properly. Audio and visual information media in the form of documentary videos are media used to convey things in Bima Suci colleges because documentary videos can convey information and messages needed to the public more clearly.

Abstract

The art of Betawi culture has a variety of arts, one of which is Ondel-Ondel art without speech in the city area of Jakarta. Ondel-Ondel's artistry is subjected to alterations in Ondel-Ondel, which in the phenomenon of Ondel-Ondel The emergence of other functions used as a pengamen. The determination of this topic aims to emphasize the art information Ondel-Ondel through the media game card games that include the history, functions and essences based on interviews, surveys, questionnaires and literary sources and preserve and maintain the existence of Ondel-Ondel in modern times that not only regarded as a display, but to remain active in arts and performances. In the design of the art topic of Ondel-Ondel which is found that some of the people of Jakarta just know the form of Ondel-Ondel but do not know the function, meaning and history, then in the government and community or craftsmen must work together to maintain the existence of Ondel-Ondel arts and performances.

Abstract

Bola leungeun seuneu called boles is a traditional game originating from Sukabumi. Widely known during the Padjajaran Kingdom, making it a cultural heritage from the ancestors of the Sundanese land. Many consider this game extreme, in fact this game is safe for children to adults. This happens because of the lack of information regarding the bola leungeun seuneu. In the design that was made, information about this game will be made in the form of a novel that is packaged lightly through the novel with illustration media. Contains functional and philosophical aspects of traditional leungeun ball games such as how to play, rules of play, the benefits of the game, how to make balls, and so forth. This design is aimed at mid teens. With the information on the traditional leungeun seuneu (boles) ball game, the knowledge of culture will increase, especially regarding the bola eungeun seuneu (boles) ball game. As well as book readers who are targeted at mid teens, they understand the value of the concept of the leungeun seuneu (boles) ball game both functionally and with the benefits and philosophy contained therein.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the influence of lighting roles to create an atmosphere that can describe a particular theme or styling applied to the design of the Beehive Boutique Hotel space so that it can be seen, felt, and observed visualized by space users or space observers. Lighting is an important element to bring atmosphere and character to an interior space. There are many types of lighting that can be applied to the interior room and depending on what atmosphere the user wants to feel. Lighting can also support visualization of the style applied to the room. The method used in this study is observation and comparison based on the theory used in the research. The results and conclusions drawn are described descriptively according to observations made by researchers by comparing them to the theory used. The conclusion is that the lighting role applied to the Beehive Boutique Hotel's interior space can help create an atmosphere that depicts scandinavian themes or sytles applied to the hotel's interior.

Abstract

The design was motivated by the high potential of Soul Puncak Lawang tourism to be able to enter the wider market. The various potentials and the high number of visits to tourism are points that can be taken into account as steps to enter the national and international markets. Although new visitors come from local areas such as Agam Regency and areas in West Sumatra. So that a good step is to build a product image of the potential possessed by Soul Puncak Lawang in the minds of the public. The method used in the design and writing of information is qualitative analysis. The data obtained comes from journals, books, articles, questionnaires to direct interviews explaining that the natural wealth and potential possessed by Soul Puncak Lawang can be an important indicator in expanding the market. In this design a commercial campaign is considered appropriate to introduce the potential of Soul Puncak Lawang in the minds of the public. Promotional media in the form of video advertisements are expected to be able to attract the attention of the target audience through audio visual so it is easy to remember.

Abstract

Folk stories are stories that are passed down from generation to generation, from one generation to the next but are not recorded. Folklore is also a branch of folklore that develops in society. In Indonesia a lot of folklore that developed, especially in Sundanese society and one of the stories told by the Sundanese people is a myth about jurig. It is said that jurig is a person who comes from the spirit of a person who died in an unnatural way. But now there are lots of folktales about suspicions in Sundanese society that have started to fade away just like the story about Jurig Leled Samak. Therefore this design aims to re-introduce the story of Jurig Leled Samak itself by using animation in the form of motion graphics.

Abstract

The positive values of life are embodied in culture and literary works that contain life values and also knowledge that has an influence on human life until now. Mahabharata is one of two ancient literary works originating from India, apart from Ramayana, as for several versions of this Mahabharata story. Mahabharata tells the story of the conflicts of the five Pandavas with Pandawa cousins namely 100 Kauravas, regarding the dispute over the rights of the Hasstinapura court government. Suryaputra Karna is one of the knights in the Mahabharata story and plays an important role in the storyline. The meaning of life that can be taken very much in the journey of life Karna, this design describes the meaning of heroism owned by Suryaputra Karna in the Mahabharata story. The conclusion obtained from this design, tells Karna's journey through many trials, slanders, and others that ultimately show the value of the character owned by Karna as an antagonist who can become a better figure and save or solve existing problems. The importance of the purpose of this design aims to preserve Karna characters and folklore that can be adapted into other media and can be easily accepted by teenagers today.

Abstract

Herbal medicine is one of the Javanese cultures that existed in ancient times during the Majapahit era. Along with the times of technological advances in terms of modes of transportation, now many herbal medicine sellers use vehicles and do not hold their herbs. The identity of the herbal medicine profession has also begun to shift from cultural values because it no longer uses kebaya and batik cloth. Through current convenience, the seller of herbal medicine is more looking at the economic and practical aspects. So, the problem is the millennial generation thinks that this is only a normal profession and does not have any cultural value. Plus the herbal medicine profession has begun to be scarce in some rural and urban areas; it is difficult for millennials to interact directly with this profession. Whereas carrying herbal medicine is one area of work that is quite helpful in the economy of some circles of society. So the design is important to do to provide information on the carrying herbal medicine profession for millennials. The booklet is a medium that will be used in the design to provide information on the existence of the carrying herbal medicine profession.

Abstract

Stained glass is stained glass, made into a window of pieces on glass arranged to be images or patterns. Griya glass is one of the stained glass producers located in Bandung. Griya glass is having some troubles on production as there is no consistency in documentation of stained glass products, sticking phone number as their watermark and logo on photos puts the their reputation at risk, lack of detail on the product design style and the documentation quality of the products and the making process. Griya glass has social medias such as instagram and facebook, but the information about their products posted on same page as owner's personal life posts. Fluctuation of content consistency social media design sustain consumer’s confuse. In conclusion, update and post Griya Glass content, informations and products on social medias is necessary to decrease some of their problems. An information video is a fresh approach to inform everything happen and made by Griya Glass to their consumers. A video-based platform of information is mean spreading information about something important, to the audience, that intend to try to convince people about the products and Griya Glass itself so well.
