Abstract

The 2019 Coronavirus Disease pandemic caused nurses to communicate more indirectly to patients being treated. This requires a strategy so that nurses can still apply communication effectively during the 2019 Coronavirus Disease pandemic. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of sharing sessions and providing educational videos on nurses' knowledge about The 2019 Coronavirus Disease pandemic caused nurses to communicate more indirectly to patients being treated. This research is a quantitative study with a pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest design method which was conducted on 21 respondents with a total sampling. Sharing sessions are conducted in one day for two hours and educational videos is carried out for seven days with a video duration of 15 minutes. Data collection used a questionnaire which consisted of 10 questions. The mean value of the pre-test was 5.57 and the mean value of the post-test was 8.68. The Wilcoxon test results obtained a p value of 0.000, meaning that there is an effect of sharing sessions and providing educational videos on nurses' knowledge about effective communication during the 2019 Coronavirus Disease pandemic. Abstract

Reproductive cancers have a huge impact in woman quality of life. Research on Saudi Arabian cancer patients is a priority at King Abdulaziz Medical City (KAMC), Riyadh. To date, research on quality of life in cancer patients in Saudi Arabia has been insufficient and there is no enough research that assesses quality of life in gynecological cancer in Saudi women. The aims of this study were to assess the gynecological cancer risk factors and measure the quality of life among Saudi woman who diagnosed with uterine, ovarian or cervical cancer. A descriptive cross-sectional correlational design was used to conduct the study. A convenient sample of 100 Saudi women and who diagnosed with one of reproductive cancer type at King Abdullah Specialized Children Hospital, Riyadh city. Each woman in the sample signed an informed consent to participate in the study. Data was collected using risk factors assessment tool and WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire. Validly and reliability of the questionnaire were ensured. The mean age of the sample was 49.01 ± 12.88 years, 57 % got menarche at age 13 years, 25% had family history of gynecological cancer, 45% had gotten recurrent genital tract infections, and 47% had an abnormal Pap smear results. There was a statistically significant relationship between the physical health domain and social status (p=0.003), occupation (p=0.000) and monthly income (p=0.040). However, woman psychological health domain was significantly related to occupation n (p=0.000), number of abortions (p=0.001) and menstrual age (p=0.034). It was clear that the age (p=0.024), social status (p=0.011) educational level (p=0.023), and reproductive system hygiene (p=0.005) had significant relationship with woman social relationships domain. Half of the sample had good total quality of life score >70%, while only 11% had poor total quality of life score <50%. This study presented substantial findings that the sample had a moderate quality of life.

Abstract

Nigerian Indigenous languages are quintessential to the modus operandi of communication in Nigeria. The indigenous languages are dominated by English language which is a lingua franca in Nigeria. Since the broke out of COVID-19 disease; a 'highly transmittable and pathogenic viral infection’ there have been several measures to contain the disease. The need to spread adequate information that will enhance the personal safety of Nigerians has led to the use of the indigenous languages in facilitating information sharing among indigenous people in Nigeria. Consequently, this study investigates the role of the Nigerian indigenous languages in the fight against COVID-19. Methodologically, data were collected through electronic media. Salawu’s model for indigenous language developmental communication was adopted for this study. The results of this study show that Nigerian indigenous languages are used in spreading COVID-19 preventive measures, media briefing on National television, health orientation and, medical research. This shows that the Nigerian indigenous languages which overtime has been dominated by English could be very significant at a critical time of medical delivery.

Abstract

Genital prolapse is one of the most frequent causes of gynecological morbidities among women in the world. The symptoms of genital prolapse can be extremely debilitating and have an appreciable impact on quality of life. The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of instructional guidelines on women that suffer from genital prolapse . Quazi experimental design was conducted at the out-patient’s clinics of Fayoum University hospital and General hospital (obstetrics and gynecology clinic). Purposive sample 73 women was included in the study. Data were collected through four types of tools (structured interviewing questionnaire sheet, Pelvic Organ Prolapse Quantification system (POP–Q) . It was used to assess genital prolapse, Pelvic organ prolapse-symptoms score (POP-ss),it was used to assess symptoms of genital prolapse and Instructional guidelines follow up sheet was designed to assess the manifestations. The results of this study revealed that there were a statistically no significant differences between the women with satisfactory level of knowledge and genital prolapsed symptoms, and its stages before instructional guidelines. While the result is almost statistically significant between the women with satisfactory level of knowledge and symptoms and stages after instructional guidelines, there were a statistically significant differences between the genital prolapsed symptoms and its stages before and after instructional guidelines. The study concluded that instructional guidelines was effective in improving women' knowledge and stages regarding genital prolapse. As well a reduction in prolapse symptoms which lead to better quality of life at follow-up periods.

Abstract

The Corona Virus Health Protocol 2019 (Covid-19) is a policy set by WHO as the World Health Organization and by the Government of Indonesia to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic. This study aims to identify the effect of leaflet media health counseling on public knowledge about the implementation of covid-19 health protocol in LK 06 Kelapa Tujuh, North Lampung. This research is really important as kind of prevention to face this pandemic because no one knows when will this pandemic end. The aim is to find out public knowledge about the Covid-19 health protocol before and after being given counseling. The type of research used is quantitative research with Tr ue Experiments research design using the Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design approach. The population is the head of the family in the LK 06 Kelapa Tujuh with the sample criteria being traders. The research instrument use a questionnaire sheet with validity test obtained R Table of 0.444. The statistical test use the Independent Samples t Test. The results show that, based on the answers to the knowledge and behavioral application questionnaire, the results of the Independent Samples t Test show that the Sig value or p value = 0.000 is smaller than 0.05. So, it can be concluded that there is an influence from Leaflet Media Health Counseling on Public Knowledge about the Implementation of the Covid-19 Health Protocol.

Abstract

According to the survey, the percentage of food waste’s diabetes militus patients in the Imanuel Hospital of Bandar lampung still have not reached the minimum service standars. This study aimsed to analyze the factors associated with food waste in diabetes militus patients in Hospital Imanuel. This is a descriptive analytic study using a cross sectional research design. The sample of this study was 50 patients who suffered diabetes mellitus and were hospitalized. The sample is taken = by purposive sampling. The Analysis of the relationship between the dependent variable and the independent variable is done by using the chi square test. Data on age, gender, appearance of food, taste of food and attitude of officers were obtained through a questionnaire while leftover food was obtained through the Comstock form. Of the totat sampels from 50 th 46% 56 years old, and 78% sex women.The results of correlation test there is a significant association between appearance of food (p value 0,005) and taste of food (p value 0,002) with the food waste. There were no significant associations between service providers (p value 0,776) with the food waste.

Abstract

From the Lampung Provincial Health Office as of April 13, 2021, for confirmed cases of Covid 19, which are 14,657 people and for the number of deaths, 795 people. This vaccination solution, of course, has again caused a polemic for some people. First, because of doubts about vaccine development, which was carried out with a fairly fast period of time, which was only about 1 year. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence public confidence in being willing to vaccinate against COVID-19 for residents of RT 06 Jagabaya 2 Bandar Lampung Village in 2021. The research method used is descriptive quantitative research with a case control approach. The research was carried out on July 14, 2021 until July 30, 2021, at the research location, namely at RT 06 Jagabaya 2 Village, Way Halim District, Bandar Lampung City. The population in this study were all residents of RT 06 Jagabaya 2 Village with a vulnerable age of less than 18 years to the age of 58 years, which amounted to approximately 470 people. In this study the samples were grouped into 2, namely the case group (41 respondents) and the control group (41 respondents). The analysis in this study was carried out univariate and bivariate. The results showed that there is a relationship between knowledge, values, attitudes and beliefs with behavior, namely the availability of a Covid 19 vaccine in residents of RT 06 Jagabaya 2 Bandar Lampung Village in 2021. Health workers at the research location are expected to increase good knowledge about vaccines and provide an understanding that vaccines does not conflict with certain values, and the vaccine to be given is halal. And can also provide education about the importance of vaccines during a pandemic

Abstract

This study discusses the analysis of the effectiveness of online learning media for the students during the covid-19 pandemic. This research is to know the effectiveness of online media for the students during the covid 19 pandemic. The method used is quantitative descriptive research with a total sampling of students of Stikes St. Elisabeth Semarang during the online learning process by giving questionnaires related to online learning media during the covid-19 period. The results obtained that most of the students at Stikes St. Elisabeth often uses Google Meet (GM) learning media and likes online learning through Google Meet (GM). The most frequently used feature of GM is the presentation form. The conclusion is that GM is an effective and efficient learning media during the covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

In general, pre-school age is a time for children with the achievement of their independent activities, children also begin to master various physical skills and courage, usually this condition is influenced by gross motor and fine motor development. Fine motor development needs to be understood especially at the beginning of the development period, namely childhood so that this fine motor can be considered important to know the extent of the child's development. One of the activities that can be done to develop fine motor skills is finger painting. Finger painting is a finger painting activity that is carried out by scraping dye directly with the fingers of the hand, palm freely on paper, this child can explore free ideas to develop his fine motor skills. The purpose of this study is to determine the application of finger painting learning applied by parents of children during learning assistance at home in developing Fine Motor Skills of Pre-School children. Purpose to find out the application of finger painting learning applied by parents of children during learning assistance at home in developing Fine Motor Skills of Pre-School children. The type of research used is a quantitative method with a case study approach with a total of 5 subjects through observation and interviews. The instruments used are observation sheets and SOPs with descriptive analysis. The inclusion criteria are children aged 3-5 years, parents allow children to be subjects, children in healthy and cooperative conditions, while the exclusion criteria are subjects that are not in the implementation of case studies. The results of most children developing very well as many as 2 people and undeveloped as many as 2 people. While the child who develops according to expectations there is 1 person. Finger painting activities can be useful for stimulating children's fine motor aspects because by doing finger painting activities children can move their fingers so that they involve the movement of small muscles and nerve maturity.

Abstract

Pesantren adalah lembaga keagamaan yang memberikan pendidikan dan pengajaran serta mengembangan dan menyebarkan ilmu agama Islam. Dalam perkembangan terakhir, telah muncul satu pemikiran tentang integrasi antara perguruan tinggi dan pesantren. Data statistik pendidikan tinggi tahun 2020, menunjukkan dari tahun 2016 sampai dengan 2020 persentase penduduk usia 19-23 tahun yang melanjutkan pendidikan ke tingkat perguruan tinggi hanya di angka 30%, meskipun angka ini meningkat dari tahun ke tahun. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi keputusan siswa SMA masuk kuliah sekaligus mondok. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif. Sampel penelitian siswa SMA kelas 12 di Indonesia yang dibagi dua wilayah berjumlah 62 orang. Analisis data menggunakan regresi linier berganda. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi keputusan siswa SMA untuk kuliah sekaligus mondok adalah motivasi (Coef = 0.76, 95% CI: 0.59 – 0.93), persepsi (Coef = 0.82, 95% CI: 0.63 – 1.02), sikap (Coef = 0.92, 95% CI: 0.81 – 1), keluarga (Coef = 0.32, 95% CI: 0.57 – 0.72), dan kelompok referensi (Coef = 0.67, 95% CI: 0.19 – 1.14).
