Abstract

Medan is the capital city of North Sumatra Province which is also concerned about the fate of street children. The number of street children in Medan City is significant enough to be considered as one of the social problems of the community. The local government of Medan made a concerted effort to eliminate street children in the city. The main purpose of the author's research is to find a means of providing training for street children. The authors of this paper investigate a qualitative analytical approach. While the descriptive analysis of the spoken words and observable behavior of the people being studied is the data analysis technique used. Based on the research findings, the data obtained from direct questions and answers to informants were analyzed, resulting in five elements of government functions as follows: (1) Service provision as a concept has been formulated adequately, but they lack the necessary facilities to support it, because only one has training facilities. (2) In terms of regulation, the City of Medan does not yet have a special regional regulation for street children; On the other hand, street children are only one of the studies contained in the Medan City Regulation Number 12 of 2008 concerning Social Order. (3) The coordination of the review is quite good, as can be seen from the joint raids by the Medan City Social and Cemetery Service, as well as other agencies that took to the streets together. (4) Representatives, members of the DPR who represent the people, who cooperate with the Medan City Social and Cemetery Service, and who receive special funds from the DPRD according to a special budget for the development of street children. (5) Development, the Social Service, and the Medan Cemetery, only have one forum, namely LBK, the latest condition is far from being maintained, and there has been no work on social problems at LBK until the end of this research. The burial of street children in Medan City in fostering development activities, among others, the construction of additional houses being built, and the need for understanding and support from all components of society and the government to resolve or at least reduce the problem of street children.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to assess the performance of the P3A Social Service of Medan City in distributing social assistance to villages affected by COVID-19. This study uses a qualitative descriptive methodology with an inductive approach. Data triangulation approaches such as observation, documentation, and interviews were used to obtain data. Data reduction is the first step in the data analysis process, followed by data presentation and conclusion drawing. Using Agus Dwiyanto's theory with indicators of Productivity, Service Quality, Responsiveness, Responsibility, and Accountability, the research findings show that the performance of the Social Service in providing social assistance to people affected by COVID-19 is considered good. Based on the findings, the percentage of social assistance distributed has reached 90 percent. Suggestions that the author can give in order to improve the quality of services include: first, continue to socialize social assistance in the community, second, provide service posts and information about social assistance, and realize an increase in the number of Social Service personnel with knowledge of social assistance.

Abstract

Poverty is one of the social problems that the social service program in Medan wants to overcome. Although poverty alleviation initiatives have been implemented, no evidence is available to explain their success. Regarding the research problem, this research was conducted with the aim of knowing more about the function of the social service of the city of Medan in poverty alleviation. The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative focus. Structured interviews, documentation studies of previous studies, relevant papers and literature, and observations were used to collect data and information. As a source of information, social service officers and related sectoral agencies are used. The results of the study indicate that the function of the social service of Medan City in alleviating poverty has not been maximized. This is because the number and quality of human resources are still limited, the budget is still not supported, coordination is still lacking, and the facilities and infrastructure needed for program implementation are still limited. The social service agency must improve program coordination and synergy with relevant agencies in the regions, as well as increase the intensity of discussions with provincial and central social services, based on research findings.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the efforts made by the social services agency in dealing with the increasing number of beggars in Medan, as well as the challenges faced in the process. Descriptive qualitative research method is used in this study. Researchers are looking for more information about the steps, problems, and assistance faced by the social service in an effort to curb beggars in the city of Medan. Participant observation, interviews, and documentation were used to collect data. Data reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions are part of the data analysis stage. The findings indicate that the social service of the city of Medan has fulfilled the responsibilities of collecting data, monitoring, and fostering beggars. However, there are still some obstacles in its implementation, including the lack of cooperation and the law that prohibits beggars..

Abstract

Pegadaian Syariah is a state-owned company engaged in the field of non-bank financial institutions in the form of a unit from PT. Indonesian Pawnshop. Pegadaian Syariah is generally in charge of distributing financing in the form of providing loan money to people in need based on the pawn law. In addition, sharia pawnshops also have various products including Gold Savings. The Gold Savings product provides a new account opening service in the form of gold savings with a very cheap minimum deposit. The purpose of this study is that the author knows how the company in managing the role of the quality of gold savings products at PT. Pegadaian (prsero) UPS Madina. In this study the authors used a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques using literature studies and interviews with several customers at PT. Pegadaian (Persero) UPS Madina. The results of this study state that gold savings products play a very important role in helping people invest in gold using the saving method. In addition to a low minimum deposit, an easy service system, also the system used at PT. Pegadaian (Persero) UPS Madina applies sharia-compliant principles so that customers are also avoid the practice of usury.

Abstract

Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) explained that from 2010-2013 Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia has increased. This explains that interest in entrepreneurship in Indonesia still become a trend that gets attention for the people of Indonesia. The government's concern in the field of entrepreneurship is increasingly directed in various business actors, one of them is the young generation. This is in accordance with the government program in 2017 where the launch of Beginner Entrepreneurship (WP). This explains that the opportunity to start a business at a young age is no longer an obstacle in view of the support from the government that participated in encouraging the new WP in Indonesia. Educational institutions can be a training place for entrepreneurship incubation for students. Encouragement through the role of courses in the institution should be able to walk in harmony. Readiness of students is not uncommon to be a barrier to start a business. This study aims to explain whether there is an influence between the factors of encouragement of educational institutions and entrepreneurship courses to entrepreneurial interests for students. By using SPSS and error rates of 5%, this results that both the educational institution and the role of entrepreneurship courses partially affect student entrepreneurship interests. This study has limitation on the use of sample quantities and independent variables that still tend to be within a small range. Therefore, next researches may consider this as input..

Abstract

Employee performance is important for the world of work, one of which is in government agencies because employee performance definitely reflects the performance of the agency as well. Agencies will greatly benefit from good employee performance because they can achieve organizational goals to the maximum. With good employee performance, agencies can carry out their duties properly in order to be able to provide the best service for the community. This research was conducted to fulfill one of the tasks of the internship activity carried out by the author for one full month at the Department of Industry and Trade of North Sumatra Province. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method which emphasizes the process aspect of an action that is seen as a whole. The data used in this study is primary data which was carried out by field observations and interviews. The results of this study indicate that the performance of the employees in the finance department is very good, there is a separation of duties from each sub-section which makes employees have maximum work responsibilities in their fields.

Abstract

PUD. is a market that sells various types of products in one area. Initially, the existence of PUD.s market has a positive impact in term of social and economic for market traders. However, currently it has a negative impact on the economy. The problem studied is how the existence of PUD is. Markets and levies on the welfare of traders at the Petisah Market in Medan. In this phenomenon, the authors are interested in researching the analysis of the existence of PUD. Markets and Levies on the Welfare of Petisah Market Traders. In this case the management of PUD. Markets and levies are very important to improve welfare in the division market, with the creation of a prosperous market many people prefer this market. This research method uses qualitative research methods, namely in the form of written or spoken words from people and actors that can be observed. Abstract

Financing is an activity in channeling funds to parties other than banks based on sharia principles. The distribution of funds in the form of financing is based on the trust given by the owner of the funds to the users of the funds in the form of financing that will surely pay off. The purpose of this study was to determine the operational mechanism of Ar-rum financing and Ar-rum’s financing impact on the development of MSMEs. Based on the research results, the customers of Ar-rum Financing are customers who have a business and have been running for at least 1 year. The operational mechanism of Ar-Num Financing is, first, the pawnshop receives the application file for Ar-run financing from the customer, secondly checks the validity of the documents attached by the customer and conducts business feasibility analysis interviews and assesses the collateral. Third, the disbursement of Ar-rum’s financing funds after signing a financing agreement known to the husband and wife. After customers receive Ar-rum financing, the average customer income increases every month.

Abstract

Pegadaian (Persero) Madina Syariah Service Unit carries out pawning with a purpose that is in accordance with the pawnshop’s mission, namely providing convenience to people who want to make transactions that are halal, providing superior returns for investors and PT. Pegadaian (Persero) Madina’s services have met the requirements in accordance with the legal umbrella of sharia pawnshops, but there are also customers who cancel their pawn financing because customers feel that the pawn items assessed are not in accordance with the customer’s wishes. The supporting factors for Madina sharia pawnshop customers to obtain pawn financing at PT Pegadaian (Persero) Madina Sharia Service Unit are the cooperation between Madina sharia pawnshops and customers both in fulfilling requirements, financing procedures and financing processes.
