Abstract

The screening results at the Purwodadi II Health Center indicated an increase in cases of HIV, Syphilis, and Hepatitis B in 2021-2022; specifically, HIV increased from 0 to 1 case, Syphilis from 0 to 2 cases, and Hepatitis B from 6 to 10 cases. In order to reduce the incidence rate, the government conducted screenings during the integrated ANC, which included a Triple Elimination examination consisting of HIV, Syphilis, and Hepatitis B tests. The purpose of the study was to determine the characteristics, knowledge, and attitudes of pregnant women about Triple Elimination at Purwodadi II Health Center. This research was conducted in the Purwodadi II Health Center area using a descriptive research design. The study population consisted of pregnant women who had not undergone the Triple Elimination examination at the Purwodadi II Health Center in 2023. The sampling technique involved accidental sampling of 79 respondents. The results showed that most pregnant women in the reproductive age category were healthy, had secondary education, and mostly were housewives and multiparous, with limited knowledge and negative attitudes towards Triple Elimination. Therefore, the health workers need to provide education about Triple Elimination to enhance the knowledge and positive attitudes of pregnant women in the future.

Abstract

The puerperium is a vital time for both mothers and newborns, marked by a heightened risk of complications, especially within the first 24 hours after delivery. This research aimed to assess the impact of health education through video media on increasing postpartum mothers' knowledge of puerperium danger signs at the Bunda Parakan Temanggung Clinic. A quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group was used, involving 30 postpartum mothers selected via accidental sampling. Data were gathered through pre- and post-intervention questionnaires, with both video and leaflet media used as educational tools, and analyzed with a t-test. The results showed that video media significantly enhanced mothers' knowledge, with 67% of respondents showing adequate understanding (p-value 0.003, mean difference 0.67), compared to 53% for the leaflet group (p-value 0.014, mean difference 0.46). These outcomes suggest that video media is more effective than leaflets in raising awareness about puerperium danger signs, and thus, it is advised that health education programs emphasize the use of video media to better inform postpartum mothers

Mothers who are not at risk are more likely to give birth spontaneously behind the head, according to the study's findings. Meanwhile, CS affected 49 individuals, or 94.2% of the moms at risk. The p value is 0.001 < 0.05. More primigravida mothers gave birth via posterior birth, namely 11 people (73.3%). Multigravida mothers more often give birth by SC. The p value was 0.002 < 0.05. that the pregnancies ≤ 2 years apart were more likely to give birth by CS, namely 47 people (81%) while those > 2 were more likely to give birth spontaneously behind the head. The p value is 0.001 < 0.05. fetuses that experience emergencies in all types of delivery by SC. The p value was 0.001 < 0.05.
