Abstract

The formation of the character of responsibility in elementary school students is very important in the midst of various behaviors of low awareness of responsibility that arise in the school-age generation. This study aims to describe: 1) What are the leading programs at Sdit Alam Nurul Islam Yogyakarta in building the character of responsibility ; 2) how the strategy of implementing contextual learning models can build the character of responsibility of students at SDIT Alam Nurul Islam Yogyakarta; 3) how the strategy of applying the experiential learning model can build the character of Student Responsibility at Sdit Alam Nurul Islam Yogyakarta. This study uses descriptive qualitative approach with Miles and Huberman model data analysis techniques that include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. Validity of the data is maintained through triangulation method by comparing the results of observations, interviews, and documentation. Then analyzed descriptively based on data obtained related problems studied in the field. The results showed that there are several excellent programs in SDIT Alam Nurul Islam Yogyakarta, such as zero waste, gardening, breeding, and cooking classes. Strategies for implementing contextual learning models through a variety of real activities (learning by doing) and habituation such as caring for plants and farm animals. Meanwhile, the strategy of applying the experiential learning learning model through direct experience, reflection, and repeated application in every gardening, breeding, and cooking class.

Abstract

Abstract Orange peel waste is an organic waste containing essential nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, making it a potential raw material for Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF). This study aims to determine the effect of orange peel waste LOF concentrations on the growth of water spinach (Ipomoea reptans Poir) and to develop a learning media in the form of a poster for Grade XII high school biology on the topic of growth and development. The research was conducted from January to April 2025 in Tambang District and Binawidya Campus, Panam, using an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of five treatments (200 ml, 400 ml, 600 ml, 800 ml, and control), each replicated three times. Observed parameters included the number of leaves, plant height, root length, fresh weight, and dry weight. Data were analyzed using ANOVA followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5% significance level. The results showed that the 600 ml LOF concentration had a significant effect on plant growth, particularly in the number of leaves, plant height, fresh weight, and dry weight, but had no significant effect on root length. The educational poster developed from the research findings was validated and deemed suitable as an alternative learning media in high school biology instruction.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Student Worksheet (LKPD) design for the topic of Biological Technology Innovation in Grade X of Senior High School through the enrichment of functional beverage production in the form of water kefir made from pineapple (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr.) with the addition of cinnamon and different types of sugar. The research was conducted from October 2024 to February 2025 at the Biology Education Laboratory, University of Riau. The method used was an experimental approach with a completely randomized design (CRD) in a factorial pattern consisting of two factors: types of sugar (granulated sugar and palm sugar) and cinnamon concentration (0%, 1%, and 3%), with each treatment replicated three times. The observed parameters included organoleptic and hedonic tests. The results showed that the best combination was found in the treatment using palm sugar and 10 grams of cinnamon (G2K1). This water kefir was preferred by the panelists due to its mild sourness and a balanced aroma of fermentation and cinnamon. The findings of this study were subsequently integrated into the LKPD design and validated by subject matter and media experts, indicating its feasibility as an instructional material for biotechnology learning in high school.

Abstract

This research was conducted in April-May 2025. This research consists of two stages. The first stage is the identification of fish species which includes observations of morphological characteristics and classification. The second stage is the design of a pocket book by integrating the results of the study of fish species identification in the Kampar Kiri River, Mentulik Village. This first stage of research uses a survey method in data collection and uses a purposive sampling technique by observing environmental conditions. The sampling area is divided into three points. The parameters in this study include physical parameters, namely temperature and chemical parameters, namely water pH. The second stage of research is the design of a pocket book using the ADDIE model, but is only carried out at the analysis, design and development stages. The results showed that there were 5 orders and 8 families of 21 types of fish caught in the Kampar Kiri River, Mentulik Village. The dominant orders are the Cypriniformes order with 11 species, the Siluriformes order with 5 species, the Perciformes order with 3 species, the Beloniformes order with 1 species and the Osteoglossiformes order with 1 species. The results of the research on the identification of fish species in the Kampar Kiri River, Mentulik Village can be used as a pocket book for biodiversity material for class X phase E with an average validation score of 3.55 so that the pocket book is included in the very valid category and is suitable for use in the learning process. Abstract

Pembelajaran Biologi di tingkat SMA seringkali menghadapi kendala, terutama pada materi sistem pencernaan yang dianggap kompleks dan abstrak oleh peserta didik. Permasalahan utama yang diidentifikasi adalah rendahnya pemahaman konsep dan keterbatasan media pembelajaran yang digunakan guru, yang umumnya masih bersifat konvensional. Untuk menjawab tantangan tersebut, Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Universitas Riau melaksanakan kegiatan pengembangan media pembelajaran berupa video animasi berbasis aplikasi Doratoon. Kegiatan ini dirancang untuk mendukung pembelajaran mandiri dan visual sesuai semangat Kurikulum Merdeka. Pengembangan dilakukan dengan pendekatan R&D menggunakan model ADDIE dan divalidasi oleh ahli serta diuji coba kepada mahasiswa dan siswa SMA. Hasil validasi menunjukkan media sangat valid dengan skor rata-rata 3,82, sedangkan uji coba terbatas tahap I dan II menunjukkan skor 3,85 dan 3,89, termasuk kategori sangat baik. Kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa media video animasi dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa, memberikan pengalaman belajar yang menyenangkan, serta layak untuk diimplementasikan lebih luas dalam pembelajaran Biologi di sekolah.

Abstract

This study aims to produce Problem Based Learning-based E-LKPD using the Flip PDF Professional application on mushroom material for class X SMA. This research is a Research & Development (R&D) study, which adapts the ADDIE model to the product development stage. This research was conducted at Biology Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Riau University for trial I and at SMAN 11 Pekanbaru for trial II in August 2024 to May 2025. The data collection instruments used were validation sheets and student response questionnaires. The validation sheet was assessed by 4 validators consisting of 2 lecturers and 2 high school teachers consisting of four aspects, namely content eligibility, language, presentation, and graphics. Based on data analysis, the average score for validation of aspects of content feasibility, pedagogics, language, and presentation on E-LKPD based on Problem Based Learning obtained a score of 3.90 with very valid criteria. While the student response questionnaire trial I obtained a value of 3.54 with very good criteria and the student response questionnaire trial II obtained a value of 3.59 with very good criteria. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning-based E-LKPD using the Flip PDF Professional application that has been developed is of very good quality and can be used in learning grade X biology.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has increased the number of computer and internet users, which encourages science learning in the classroom to educate students about science and technology. In the 21st century, the use of technology in education is important to encourage students to learn independently, collaboratively, creatively, and critically. One innovation in learning is the use of E-LKPD (Electronic Student Worksheet), which is designed to replace printed LKPD which tends to be boring. The material on the excretory system in grade XI is considered difficult and less interesting for students, so it is necessary to develop E-LKPD based on problem based learning to improve student understanding. This study uses the ADDIE model which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation, but this study only reaches the development stage. The developed E-LKPD was validated by four validators and tested on students and grade XI students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru. The validation results showed an average score of 3.70 (very valid category), while the trials of stages I and II each scored 3.63 and 3.61 (very good category). In conclusion, E-LKPD based on problem based learning for excretory system material for grade XI was successfully developed and is suitable for use as a learning resource.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk jenis Lumut Kerak (Lichenes) di Hutan Kota Pekanbaru dan validitas buku saku tentang Lumut Kerak (Lichenes) di Hutan Kota Pekanbaru sebagai bahan ajar Biologi SMA. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Januari-Juni 2025 di Hutan Kota Pekanbaru dan Kampus Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Universitas Riau dengan menggunakan metode survei dan pengambilan sampel langsung di lapangan. Jenis penelitian yaitu Research and Development (R&D) model ADDIE yang dibatasi hingga tahap pengembangan. Tahap pengembangan difokuskan pada pembuatan bahan ajar buku saku materi keanekaragaman hayati. Validasi produk dilakukan oleh ahli materi dan ahli media menggunakan angket validasi dengan hasil validitas rata-rata 3,75 (kategori sangat valid). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa buku saku jenis-jenis lumut kerak layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran Biologi kelas X SMA. Buku saku ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap jenis-jenis lumut kerak secara kontekstual dan menarik.

Abstract

This research develops an interactive digital comic based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) for the topic of Food and the Human Digestive System in Grade XI Biology. Using the ADDIE model, the study was limited to the development phase. The comic, illustrated in Ibis Paint X, arranged in Canva, and published via Flip PDF Professionalwas validated by two biology lecturers and two biology teachers. Limited trials were conducted with 10 biology education students and 20 Grade‑XI learners at SMA Cendana Pekanbaru. Validation and user responses were analysed descriptively. The average expert score was 3.95, while the first and second user trials reached 3.89 and 3.88 on a 4‑point Likert scale, all categorised as 'very good'. The findings indicate that the developed digital comic is highly feasible as a learning medium that visualises abstract digestive concepts, stimulates critical thinking, and increases learner motivation

Abstract

This study aims to determine the practicality level of the Electronic Student Worksheet (E-LKPD) in improving students' critical thinking skills on the digestive system material for Grade XI high school students. The problem underlying this research is the low level of students' critical thinking skills and the absence of electronic teaching materials based on critical thinking skills that meet students' needs. This is development research using the ADDIE model but limited to the development stage. Instruments used include expert validation, teacher and student response questionnaires, and critical thinking skill tests in the form of essay questions. Data was obtained from Grade XI students of SMAN 1 Kelayang and analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods. Validation results showed that the E-LKPD is categorized as valid with an average score of 3.2. A limited trial indicated a very high level of practicality, both from teachers (89.58%) and Grade XII students (86.31%). The practicality test by Grade XI students during learning activities showed a score of 85.28%, classified as very practical. The test results showed an increase in students’ critical thinking skills from 33.97% to 61.90%, with an average N-gain score of 0.42 (moderate category). Thus, the E-LKPD is considered feasible and highly practical to be used as a teaching material to improve students’ critical thinking skills in the topic of the digestive system
