Abstract

Abstract: The mission perspective developed over the years which is anthropocentric in nature indirectly legitimizes the massive exploitation of nature which causes environmental damage. This departs from a human desire to lead to prosperity and prosperity by increasing economic production. However, what has happened has resulted in inequality and sustainable natural damage. The research will focus on reinterpreting Genesis 1:26-28 from the perspective of the cosmic function of Toraja culture to build a contextual-ecological mission paradigm. So that nature is seen in a different way and treated as it should be. This research will use descriptive qualitative method with text analysis approach and tenography. The end of this study shows that the cosmic function of Toraja culture and the reinterpretation of the text of Genesis 1:26-28 have similarities by viewing that other creations are human brothers and are one unified whole, so they are called sangserekan. It brings awareness of a new missionary paradigm that nature or cosmic is part of Christ's redemptive design. The mission paradigm that had been built up from the West then slowly shifted from ecclesiastical to theocentric. From an organizational church to an organismic church.

Abstract

Pastoral service is an important task of the church to maintain the life of the congregation, therefore pastoral assistance is always aimed at life. One form of church pastoral service that has received less attention is assistance to people who are facing death, even though this kind of assistance is highly expected because when facing death someone will be faced with anxiety and fear. The Genesis 27:1-19 narrative highlights the importance of feeding people who are facing death as a form of the child/family's ability to continue to be companions. This story has parallels with the Manulangi Natua-tua culture in the Batak tribe, where through this culture each family member will provide certainty to parents who are facing death that they will still be there to accompany them, so that parents do not need to be afraid and anxious to face death. This study uses a qualitative method, with a narrative interpretation approach to Genesis 27:1-19 and literature research on Batak culture. The results of the study show that mentoring people who are facing death is an important thing that must be done by the church as a form of the church's responsibility towards life.

Abstract

Kenosis is a concept that was born based on Paul's narrative in Philippians 2:7 about "emptying oneself". In theory, it is emphasized that Jesus has taken on His human nature. But He in His incarnation by no means gave up His divine nature. Even in that context, He Himself had become a real man. The purpose of this study is to describe the kenosis of Jesus Christ in Philippians 2:7 and self-emptying in spiritual Buddhism, as an effort to find differences or similarities. The method used in this study is comparative, namely by comparing the concept of kenosis in Philippians 2:7 and self-emptying in Buddhism. Kenosis is God's act of emptying himself by becoming human. Such a path is taken by Allah, as an alternative in realizing His mission of saving the world. whereas self-emptying in Buddhism is an act of detachment from attachment to matter and all that is temporary. Self-emptying in Buddhism is known as voidness. Self-emptying is a way of freeing oneself from suffering by focusing on the divine. The kenosis of Jesus Christ and self-emptying in Buddhism meet in the pursuit of truth. Kenosis is God's attempt to reconcile Himself with the world including justifying human beings, while self-emptying in Buddhism justification is carried out by humans themselves. Buddhists empty themselves in order to attain sainthood by standing on the divine.

Abstract

Abstract: This manuscript explains the significance of the nyaki dirit ritual, which requires humans to acknowledge the existence of an external Power. Through this nyaki dirit ritual, humans become aware of their Creator. In addition, this ritual signifies faith, prayer, and happiness for both the family that invites guests and the guests themselves. Through this ceremony, it is anticipated that the invited guests will support or bless the fetus so that it is safe, strong, and healthy for both the mother and the child. The method employed is qualitative with descriptive social research and flow analysis via an interactive analysis model, which includes data acquisition, condensation, data display, and interpretation drawing. The research results indicate that Christianity must convey its support and preservation of this ritual in light of the womb's theology. In the end, a vulnerable human will still surrender to God in order to form a new life in a woman's womb through prayer. The submission was accomplished collectively via the nyaki dirit ritual.
