Abstract

A Birth Certificate is an essential document that confirms the birth of a child, issued by a hospital. This document is crucial for registering a child's birth and obtaining an official birth certificate. At Santosa Hospital Bandung Kopo, the process of creating Birth Certificates is currently done manually using Microsoft Excel, with data input based on handwritten forms filled out by the patient's family. This method is prone to data entry errors, leading to delays and inaccuracies in information. This study aims to design a Birth Certificate Information System that can improve the efficiency and accuracy of data processing. The system is developed using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 with the Waterfall software development method. The research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data was collected through interviews, observations, and literature reviews. The research instrument is a questionnaire consisting of five questions related to the process and challenges in creating Birth Certificates. The results of the study indicate that the designed system can minimize data entry errors and enhance the efficiency and accuracy in the creation of Birth Certificates at Santosa Hospital Bandung Kopo.

Abstract

Organizations utilize Talent Management to enhance competitiveness, improve employee quality, develop potential, and retain talent. Talent management also plays a crucial role in the career development of lecturers. Promotions in the academic ranks and positions of lecturers in Indonesia are essential to consider, as they significantly impact the quality of lecturers, the accreditation value of higher education, and the global rankings of universities. In this study, a questionnaire was administered to 406 respondents. The results revealed six clusters correlated with the challenges of applying for functional lecturer positions. Based on the cluster analysis, Cluster 0 (20%) exhibited minimal obstacles, Cluster 1 (27%) faced highly challenging obstacles, Cluster 2 (13%) experienced neutral obstacles, Cluster 3 (15%) encountered manageable obstacles, Cluster 4 (18%) dealt with easily surmountable constraints, and Cluster 5 (7%) experienced significant hurdles. Future research could explore implementing a new talent management model, particularly for lecturers who need help applying for functional positions.

Abstract

In the Business and Technology Incubator Division at Solo Technopark, the existing attendance system presents significant challenges, requiring employees to physically commute to a centralized attendance machine. This process not only reduces work efficiency and productivity but also disrupts the daily workflow, particularly under unfavorable weather conditions or during peak hours. To address these issues, this research proposes the development of an attendance system based on facial recognition technology. This system enables employees to register their attendance directly from their desks using the camera on their laptops, thereby conserving time, reducing physical contact, and enhancing overall workplace hygiene. The system's development follows the Waterfall Method, which is structured into five key stages: communication, planning, modeling, construction, and deployment. Unified Modeling Language (UML) was employed to design the system, which was subsequently implemented for real-time monitoring and management. The findings demonstrate a marked improvement in employee efficiency and productivity, validating the system's effectiveness in a practical setting. The study underscores the potential of facial recognition technology to streamline operational processes and improve the working environment within modern organizations.

Abstract

Integrating blockchain technology within the banking sector represents a pivotal transformation, promising enhanced security, transparency, and efficiency in financial operations. This qualitative research employs a systematic review approach to investigate the current state, challenges, and prospects of blockchain adoption in banking, drawing insights from a comprehensive analysis of scholarly literature. Through a systematic search and review of relevant academic journals, conference papers, books, and reports, this study explores critical variables such as security, transparency, efficiency, challenges, opportunities, and impact associated with blockchain adoption in banking. Thematic analysis is the primary methodological approach to identify recurring themes, patterns, and relationships across literature, facilitating a nuanced understanding of blockchain's implications for banking operations. The findings reveal a dual nature of blockchain adoption in banking, highlighting significant opportunities alongside critical challenges. While blockchain technology offers enhanced security, transparency, and efficiency, challenges like scalability issues, regulatory uncertainties, and interoperability concerns persist. Nonetheless, the study underscores the transformative potential of blockchain in revolutionizing banking operations, urging policymakers and banking practitioners to address these challenges through continued research, technological innovation, and collaborative efforts. By leveraging blockchain effectively, the banking industry can navigate the digital landscape, enhance operational efficiency, and deliver superior customer experiences, thereby gaining a competitive edge in the financial sector

Abstract

Reliable and efficient computer network connectivity is essential for supporting the performance of applications and services operating within that network. Cisco Packet Tracer is a simulation tool that facilitates the design and testing of computer networks prior to actual implementation, thereby reducing the risk of errors during deployment. This study designs and evaluates two network scenarios utilizing a star topology connected to a single server, aimed at linking computers within a Local Area Network (LAN) at SMKS XYZ Depok. The design focuses on enhancing network stability and connection speed. The simulation results demonstrate that the star topology provides stable and efficient connectivity within the network environment at SMKS XYZ Depok. Additionally, this study assesses network performance in terms of latency, throughput, and reliability, and identifies areas for potential improvement to further optimize network performance. Thus, this research makes a significant contribution to enhancing the quality of the network infrastructure at the educational institution

Abstract

Spam refers to the unsolicited and repetitive sending of messages to others via electronic devices without their consent. This activity, commonly known as spamming, is typically carried out by individuals referred to as spammers. SMS spam, which often originates from unknown sources, frequently contains advertisements, phishing attempts, scams, and even malware. Such spam messages can be pervasive, affecting almost all mobile phone numbers, thereby causing significant disruptions to communication by delivering irrelevant content. The persistent nature of spam messages underscores the need for effective filtering mechanisms. This study investigates the application of the K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) algorithm for classifying SMS messages as either spam or non-spam (ham). The findings demonstrate that KNN, when optimized through various methods for determining the appropriate value of K, can achieve an impressive average accuracy of 99.16% in classifying SMS spam. This high level of accuracy indicates that KNN is a reliable method for spam detection.

Abstract

Education plays a central role in society, with schools serving as crucial institutions in providing access to relevant information for all stakeholders. With advancements in technology, many schools have established an online presence through their websites. SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Lilin is one such school that provides various information related to school activities on its website. However, overall user engagement and feedback, particularly from students, have been limited, and the level of user satisfaction remains unknown. This study aims to analyze the user satisfaction of the school website using a quantitative descriptive approach to test specific hypotheses. Data were collected from 250 respondents selected through purposive sampling, conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Lilin between February and April 2024. The End User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) method was employed to assess user satisfaction and the influencing factors. EUCS evaluates satisfaction based on five parameters: content, accuracy, format, ease of use, and timeliness. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression and classical assumption tests, processed with SPSS version 23. Initial validity and reliability tests revealed inadequacies, but subsequent tests confirmed that all instruments were valid and reliable. The results confirm that all research hypotheses are accepted. The F-test results indicate that the regression coefficients of content, accuracy, format, ease of use, and timeliness significantly affect user satisfaction (sig < 0.05). The T-test results further reveal that each variable positively influences user satisfaction individually (sig < 0.05). An R Square value of 0.297 suggests that 29.7% of user satisfaction is explained by the variables of content, accuracy, format, ease of use, and timeliness, indicating a weak relationship, while the remaining 70.3% is influenced by other factors not included in this study. The findings indicate that respondents generally exhibit low levels of satisfaction when using the SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Lilin website, as evidenced by the influence of content, accuracy, format, ease of use, and timeliness on user satisfaction.
