Abstract

Palm sugar is an important natural sweetener produced by many small-scale home industries in Indonesia. However, conventional cooking processes rely heavily on manual observation, resulting in inconsistent temperature and viscosity control, inefficient energy utilization, and variations in product quality. This study aims to develop an Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart sensor system that integrates temperature and viscosity measurements for real-time monitoring and automatic control of the palm sugar cooking process. An applied experimental engineering approach was employed, consisting of requirement analysis, hardware and software development, sensor calibration, system integration, laboratory testing, and field evaluation at a partner home industry. The proposed system integrates a DS18B20 temperature sensor, viscosity sensor, ESP32 microcontroller, automatic heating controller, and web-based monitoring platform. Experimental results showed an average temperature measurement error of 0.26% and viscosity measurement error of 0.98%. The IoT communication system achieved a 99.2% successful data transmission rate with an average delay of 1.9 s. Compared with the conventional process, cooking time decreased from 122 to 101 min, fuel consumption decreased from 20 to 16 kg per production cycle, temperature stability increased from 72% to 96%, and defective products decreased from 12% to 3%. These results demonstrate that integrating temperature and viscosity sensing with automatic IoT-based control improves process stability, energy efficiency, and product consistency. However, the study was limited by single-site field validation and predefined control thresholds. Future research will focus on adaptive control using machine learning or fuzzy logic, multi-site validation, cloud analytics, and mobile notification features to improve system scalability and intelligence.

Abstract

Buya Aqiqah is a micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) providing aqiqah—an Islamic ceremonial catering service traditionally celebrating a child's birth—and general catering in Depok, Indonesia, since 2003. Although the enterprise has accumulated substantial sales transaction data, these records have previously served solely as manual administrative archives rather than an analytical foundation for identifying customer purchasing patterns to support managerial decision-making. This study aimed to apply the Apriori algorithm to discover association patterns among menu items using Buya Aqiqah's historical sales transaction records. Guided by the Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) framework, the analysis was executed using RapidMiner Studio. A total of 137 digitized sales transactions were selected, cleaned, transformed into binary format, and evaluated across three parameter scenarios: Scenario 1 (minimum support 5%, minimum confidence 50%), Scenario 2 (minimum support 10%, minimum confidence 60%), and Scenario 3 (minimum support 15%, minimum confidence 70%). Across all three scenarios, two valid association rules consistently emerged: Gulai → Sate (support 67.2%, confidence 94.8%, lift ratio 1.065) and Sop → Sate (support 19.7%, confidence 100%, lift ratio 1.123). Scenario 1 was determined as the most representative parameter setting because it captured the broadest frequent itemset coverage without omitting any valid rules. The results position Sate as the core menu item consistently paired with other dishes, confirming that the identified associations reflect genuine purchasing behaviors rather than random co-occurrences. These findings provide empirical evidence for management to design targeted bundling packages—specifically Gulai–Sate and Sop–Sate—while prioritizing inventory procurement for core ingredients.

Abstract

Household inorganic waste management at the community-based unit Rumah Pilah Sawitri currently relies on conventional paper-based ledgers for daily transactions. This manual mechanism presents four major operational constraints: lengthy transaction handling times reaching 10 minutes per member, vulnerability to mathematical calculation errors (human error), risks of physical record deterioration or loss, and recurring delays in preparing monthly financial and operational reports. To resolve these issues, this study designs and implements a web-based household waste management information system. The software engineering methodology adopts the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Waterfall approach, encompassing requirements analysis, system architecture and database design using Unified Modeling Language (UML) and Entity Relationship Diagrams, program implementation using PHP and MySQL, and system verification. Functional validity was evaluated through black-box testing, while usability and acceptance were measured via User Acceptance Testing (UAT) using a 5-point Likert scale across administrators and members. Empirical implementation results confirm that the system reduces average transaction duration by 80%, decreasing from 10 minutes to 2 minutes per member by automating weight-to-price balance conversions. Furthermore, the web platform eliminates calculation discrepancies, enables instant administrative report compilation, and provides members with real-time balance tracking dashboards. UAT evaluation yielded high acceptance scores ranging from 4.7 to 4.9 across ease of use, interface clarity, and functional relevance, validating the system as viable for full operational deployment.

Abstract

Digital transformation has become an essential factor for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to maintain competitiveness and business sustainability amid rapid technological developments. Nadia Permata Shop, an MSME specializing in bed sheet products, faces critical market reach limitations due to heavy reliance on conventional marketing channels while consumer behavior has shifted toward online shopping platforms. To address this challenge, this community service initiative designed and implemented a digital platform-based marketing system. The methodology employed a qualitative approach through semi-structured interviews with the business owner alongside literature studies. Software development followed the Agile Scrum framework structured across two-week sprint cycles, encompassing requirement analysis, system modeling, dynamic catalog development, and deployment. Built upon a WordPress Content Management System supported by Cloudflare CDN and MySQL, the system functions as a 24-hour digital showroom seamlessly integrated with WhatsApp for direct customer communication, Shopee for automated transaction fulfillment, and Google Analytics for traffic monitoring. Validation demonstrated that all six core features functioned reliably through Black Box testing with an average execution latency under two seconds and zero functional anomalies. Furthermore, a User Acceptance Test (UAT) administered to 21 respondents yielded an average score of 4.82 out of 5.00, confirming exceptional usability, clear visual presentation, and high user satisfaction. This platform significantly optimizes the sales workflow and establishes a solid foundation for sustainable digital growth.

Abstract

Optik Sanjaya Depok, a micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) engaged in eyewear retail, still recorded its eyeglasses stock manually in handwritten ledgers, which frequently resulted in recording errors, delayed stock updates, difficulty in determining available items, and time-consuming report preparation. This study aimed to design and implement a web-based stock monitoring system to establish more structured, efficient, and traceable inventory management for the store. The system was developed using the Waterfall software development life cycle, covering requirement analysis, Unified Modeling Language (UML) and Entity-Relationship Diagram (ERD) design, implementation using PHP Native, MySQL, and Bootstrap, and testing. The system provides role-separated access for the Administrator and the Warehouse Admin, a summary dashboard, user management, item and item-category data management, incoming-stock and outgoing-stock recording that automatically updates item quantities, real-time stock monitoring, stock reporting with Excel export, and DataTables-based search, filter, sort, and pagination. Black box testing was applied to ten core features, and every test scenario produced the expected result. User Acceptance Testing using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire completed by two respondents consisting of the owner and warehouse staff of Optik Sanjaya Depok yielded average scores between 4.7 and 4.9 (overall average 4.82). The system replaced the manual recording process and supported centralized, consistent stock recording; the reduction of stock-data errors was not measured quantitatively in this study and is therefore not claimed as a research finding. These findings indicate that a role-based, web-based stock monitoring system is a feasible initial step in the digital transformation of small-scale optical retail businesses.

Abstract

Before the emergence of modern currency systems, human economic transactions were conducted through barter, the direct exchange of goods or services. However, contemporary barter faces persistent operational friction, including the difficulty of establishing a double coincidence of wants, the absence of standardized exchange values, and inefficient manual matching. To address these challenges, this study develops a responsive, token-free web barter platform prototype engineered using the Waterfall development model. The system utilizes Node.js and the Fastify backend framework for high-throughput, non-blocking asynchronous request processing, paired with an EJS and Webix presentation layer and a PostgreSQL relational database. To streamline partner discovery, the platform couples PostgreSQL full-text search and trigram similarity matching (pg_trgm) for typo tolerance with an automated recommendation pipeline driven by recent search history. To mitigate cold-start friction for new users, the recommendation mechanism incorporates an adaptive fallback strategy that prioritizes listings by visit frequency. User data security is enforced through HTTP-only JSON Web Token (JWT) session handling, bcrypt cryptographic password hashing, and strict AJV schema validation. Functional verification via Black-Box testing achieved a 100% success rate across 16 transactional scenarios, while an OWASP ZAP active scan detected zero high-risk vulnerabilities. Performance benchmarking with Grafana k6 confirmed robust backend efficiency, recording a 95th percentile response time of 205.58 ms under sustained multi-user load and maintaining operational resilience up to 200 concurrent virtual users. This throughput stability confirms the efficacy of persistent database connection pooling and asynchronous thread execution under concurrent traffic. Finally, usability evaluation using the System Usability Scale (SUS) with 17 respondents yielded a composite score of 71.91, classifying the platform as Good with an Acceptable level of user reception.

Abstract

Hanbai Photocopy is a micro-enterprise providing photocopying and office stationery retail services that requires structured inventory management to maintain seamless daily operations. Previously, inventory tracking relied entirely on paper-based ledger records, which frequently resulted in recording discrepancies between physical stock and written logs, slow search retrieval, and time-consuming report compilation. This study aims to design and implement a web-based inventory management system to support operations at Hanbai Photocopy through centralized and automated data administration. The research adopted a qualitative case study methodology, collecting operational data through direct field observation, semi-structured interviews with the business owner, and literature review. System development followed the classical Waterfall lifecycle, encompassing requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The application was constructed using Google Apps Script as the execution platform and Google Sheets as the relational cloud database, enabling a cost-effective serverless architecture without independent hosting requirements. Functional validation was conducted through black box testing across key functional requirements, including master data management, transaction logging, automated stock validation, role-based access control, and activity auditing. The results demonstrate that all planned test scenarios executed successfully, effectively preventing invalid stock deductions and enabling real-time inventory adjustments. The operational deployment facilitates structured stock tracking, mitigates manual recording errors, and streamlines periodic reporting, thereby improving operational efficiency at Hanbai Photocopy.

Abstract

Aisyah Catering is a Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) in the catering service sector that has conventionally recorded order transactions manually. Consequently, the business owner faces difficulties in comprehensively understanding customer order patterns to formulate targeted marketing strategies. This study aims to segment Aisyah Catering's customers based on order volume using the K-Means algorithm. The research methodology follows the CRISP-DM framework, initiating with the collection of 197 transaction records digitized from physical receipts, followed by data preprocessing using Altair AI Studio to yield 187 valid records. In the modeling phase, K-Means was applied to the order quantity (number of portions) attribute as the sole quantitative variable in the clustering process. The determination of the optimal number of clusters was conducted through the evaluation of values from the Elbow Method and the Davies-Bouldin Index (DBI). The results demonstrate that k=3k=3 was selected as the optimal number of clusters with a DBI value of 0.449. The three resulting segments are: the small-scale segment (49.2% of customers, averaging 360.11 portions), the medium-scale segment (33.7% of customers, averaging 717.78 portions), and the large-scale segment (17.1% of customers, averaging 1,045.31 portions). A notable finding emerges regarding volume contribution: the large-scale segment, despite having the fewest members, accounts for 29.9% of the total order volume—nearly equal to the contribution of the small-scale segment which has nearly three times as many members. Thus, the results of this segmentation serve as a foundational basis for Aisyah Catering in designing marketing strategies, raw material procurement planning, and tailored service delivery aligned with the characteristics of each customer segment.

Abstract

Warkop Abas is a culinary enterprise operating with an indoor capacity of 25 dining tables and a daily volume reaching approximately 100 visitors. However, order recording currently relies entirely on manual staff operations managed by only four workers, causing acute service bottlenecks during peak rush hours. Consequently, food fulfillment intervals frequently extend up to 40 minutes, elevating operational stress and clerical order inaccuracies. This study designs, develops, and implements a website-based QR Menu and self-ordering platform using WordPress and WooCommerce to resolve these operational constraints. The browser-based architecture enables patrons to browse five distinct menu categories and order autonomously by scanning table-specific QR codes with guest checkout access, requiring no account registration or native application downloads. To accommodate diverse consumer behaviors, the system incorporates flexible settlement options via digital QRIS and direct cashier payment, while floor fulfillment workflows are tracked synchronously through an active, real-time Cashier Dashboard. Black Box testing across 14 scenarios confirmed complete functional validity across all transaction workflows. Furthermore, White Box structural analysis of critical execution paths—cashier authentication, checkout processing, order configuration, and fulfillment status updates—yielded low-to-moderate cyclomatic complexity values (V(G) ≤ 5), demonstrating robust procedural stability and codebase maintainability. In addition, centralized database logging eliminates manual paper ticket reconciliation and provides instant sales auditing for business owners. The implemented system successfully decompresses front-line staff workloads, shortens customer ordering latency upon seating, and delivers an accessible, cost-effective digital ordering solution tailored for micro-scale food and beverage establishments.

Abstract

Attendance tracking for teachers and students at biMBA AIUEO Klender Unit is currently conducted manually using paper forms, rendering the process susceptible to physical document loss and time manipulation through timestamp camera applications. This conventional approach also poses compliance risks regarding Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 and Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Regulation Number 9 of 2026 concerning electronic system governance in child protection. This study aims to design and develop a web-based attendance system that integrates facial recognition technology to prevent fraudulent teacher attendance, while ensuring that student attendance records remain entirely under the supervision and operational authority of teacher accounts. The system was developed using the Agile software engineering framework, combined with qualitative data collection through observation, interviews, and literature study, alongside quantitative descriptive evaluation [cek metode: if the journal explicitly requires the term 'numerical method', replace with: alongside numerical quantitative evaluation] to determine the validity rates of Black-box Testing and user satisfaction levels via User Acceptance Testing. The application was constructed using Laravel, PHP 8.2+, and MySQL, enhanced with geofencing verification, automated WhatsApp Gateway notifications, DOMPDF-based report generation, and Progressive Web App accessibility. Black-box Testing demonstrated that all 18 test scenarios were completely valid (100%), while User Acceptance Testing across user categories achieved an overall average score of 91.6%, categorized as "Very Good." This study confirms that the proposed system effectively eliminates attendance manipulation loopholes, complies with statutory child protection regulations, and improves administrative monitoring and reporting efficiency for biMBA AIUEO Klender Unit.
