Abstract

History education in primary schools often relies on textbook-based instruction, which may limit students’ interest and participation in the learning process. This study aimed to develop an interactive multimedia learning application for teaching the history of the arrival of Islam in Indonesia and the Walisongo. The development process involved field observations, interviews with educational experts, and a literature review to collect and validate the historical learning materials. The validated materials were implemented in an offline multimedia application using graphic design and animation software. The application included an interactive interface, Indonesian-language narration, background audio, and multiple-choice quizzes to support students’ learning activities and evaluation. The developed application was evaluated through expert validation, pretest-posttest assessment, and student responses. The results showed that the application was suitable for use as a learning medium and received positive responses from students. The pretest-posttest results also indicated an improvement in students’ learning outcomes after using the application. The study indicates that interactive multimedia can serve as an alternative learning medium for supporting history learning, particularly on the history of Islam in Indonesia and the Walisongo.

Abstract

Digital transformation in public administration increases the need for personnel information systems that can consolidate fragmented civil-service records and turn them into timely, transparent, and actionable decision support. This study developed SIPINTAR (Integrated, Adaptive, and Responsive Interactive Personnel Intelligence System), an artificial intelligence-based platform designed to integrate civil-service personnel information and support administrative decision-making within an Indonesian government institution. The study adopted a Research and Development approach and implemented the system through a Waterfall-based Software Development Life Cycle. Personnel data from multiple source systems, representing 5,320 civil servants and more than 42,000 historical records for 2019–2025, were integrated using Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes. The integrated data were then subjected to cleaning, transformation, feature engineering, and Random Forest modeling. Model performance was assessed using accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score, whereas system acceptance was examined through a User Acceptance Test. The strongest reported result was obtained for employee-performance prediction, with 87.24% accuracy, 86% precision, 85% recall, and 85.5% F1-score. Feature-importance analysis as the explainable artificial intelligence component identified performance score, competency level, and years of service as the three most influential variables. The integrated dashboard and AI Assistant provided consolidated access to analytical information, and the UAT result reached 91.40%. Overall, the findings suggest that SIPINTAR can move personnel information management beyond historical record keeping toward predictive and explainable decision support. Nevertheless, the results should be validated with baseline models and broader institutional datasets before being generalized across agencies.

Abstract

Automatic Identification System (AIS) data provide continuous operational records that can be transformed into computational indicators for evaluating maritime service performance. This study aims to develop an AIS-based probabilistic model for assessing Ro-Ro ferry service-speed reliability through sailing-speed compliance. Speed over Ground (SOG) observations were used to determine whether vessels operated within a predefined reliable speed range during sailing. The reliable speed range was defined as 7–9 knots based on the performance indicator required by the local transportation authority responsible for route licensing, while sailing observations were identified using a 3–15 knot SOG filter. From 32,358 raw AIS messages collected between 1 January and 31 March 2026, 11,166 sailing observations were retained. Observation-based reliability was 35.63%, while duration-based reliability was 36.63%, indicating that 324.76 of 886.64 estimated sailing hours were spent within the reliable speed range. Vessel-level analysis showed substantial variation, with two vessels recording duration-based reliability above 50% and two others below 10%. The Weibull distribution provided the best parametric fit, with an Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) of 44,051.48, the lowest among the fitted candidate distributions. The cumulative distribution function indicated a 35.88% probability of operating within the 7–9 knot range. Monte Carlo bootstrap resampling with 10,000 iterations produced 95% confidence intervals of 34.75–36.53% and 35.38–37.88% for observation-based and duration-based reliability, respectively. These findings indicate that AIS data can support a reproducible screening approach for evaluating aggregate and vessel-level ferry service-speed reliability.

Abstract

Video streaming services account for a substantial proportion of global internet traffic, but the quality of user experience highly depends on the performance of the transport protocol used. This study comparatively analyzes the performance of the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and User Datagram Protocol (UDP) in Full HD 1080p video streaming under normal and congested network conditions. The main issue addressed is how the flow control mechanism in TCP affects data delivery stability compared to the connectionless best-effort transmission mechanism of UDP during network congestion. This study employed an experimental research method by capturing network traffic using Wireshark version 4.4.2 under two testing scenarios: normal network conditions and congested network conditions. The experimental procedure consisted of network topology design, traffic generation, packet capture, QoS parameter extraction, and comparative performance evaluation of the TCP and UDP protocols. The novelty of this study lies in the direct analysis of the impact of TCP retransmission mechanisms on latency spikes in a congested local network environment. Experimental results show that UDP achieves higher throughput than TCP under both normal and congested network conditions. TCP maintains stable latency at around 14–15 ms with reliable data delivery, while UDP exhibits more fluctuating latency ranging from 10 ms to 35 ms under congested conditions. However, UDP maintains real-time video transmission despite experiencing 2.4% packet loss. Both protocols remain well below the 150 ms one-way latency threshold recommended by ITU-T G.1010 for acceptable interactive multimedia experience. Consequently, UDP is recommended for delay-sensitive live streaming because it preserves real-time transmission continuity despite moderate packet loss, whereas TCP is recommended for Video on Demand (VoD) applications because its acknowledgment and retransmission mechanisms ensure superior data integrity and visual stability.

Abstract

Food poisoning incidents associated with the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) have triggered significant public reactions on the social media platform X/Twitter. This study identified and classified public sentiment regarding food poisoning occurrences in the MBG program by applying a Support Vector Machine (SVM) classification framework. Data were crawled from X/Twitter via Tweet Harvest using keywords related to MBG food poisoning incidents between January 2025 and June 2026. A total of 6,929 posts were collected, and 6,902 Indonesian-language records were retained after duplicate removal. The analytical workflow comprised data selection, automated sentiment labeling with IndoBERTweet, text preprocessing, Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) feature weighting, and classification using the SVM algorithm. Model performance was evaluated through a confusion matrix using accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score metrics. Based on an evaluation of 1,989 testing records, the SVM model achieved an overall accuracy of 76.42%, exhibiting its strongest performance in the negative sentiment class. However, positive sentiment recorded a low recall of 26.03%, reflecting the difficulty of detecting the minority class. Sentiment distribution analysis revealed that negative sentiment dominated public discourse at 63.78%, followed by neutral sentiment at 29.05% and positive sentiment at 7.17%. These findings indicate that public perceptions of food poisoning incidents in the MBG program were overwhelmingly negative, underscoring critical concerns regarding food safety and program oversight. Beyond contributing to machine learning-based social media analytics, this study provides actionable insights for policymakers to evaluate service delivery and reinforce food safety standards in the MBG program.

Abstract

The operational effectiveness of artificial intelligence agents in customer support is frequently attributed to the generative sophistication of underlying language models, although answer reliability primarily depends on the structure and quality of the referenced knowledge base. In complex technical domains such as the Internet of Things (IoT), static documentation alone often fails to resolve customer inquiries that involve real-time device states, sensor readings, and connectivity logs. This study investigates how progressive tiers of knowledge integration affect the response quality of an AI agent within an IoT customer support context. Employing a mixed-method pilot design combining literature synthesis, comparative analysis, experimental testing, and conceptual exploration, thirty representative questions were classified into informational, status, and diagnostic categories. These queries were evaluated across four operational scenarios: without retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), article-based RAG, article plus device metadata records, and a comprehensive hybrid framework integrating static articles, device records, and telemetry streams. Answer quality was measured using Cosine Similarity, BERTScore (F1), and a randomized blind human evaluation assessing relevance, correctness, and usefulness. The results demonstrate that while curated static documentation adequately addresses procedural informational queries, resolving status and diagnostic issues necessitates real-time operational context. The hybrid integration delivered the highest overall performance, achieving a human-evaluation score of 4.40 compared with 2.53 for article-based RAG (p = 0.0039). These empirical findings confirm that robust IoT support agents require dynamic knowledge governance that bridges versioned documentation, synchronized asset metadata, and live telemetry data within a unified retrieval framework.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of Management Information Systems (MIS) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Islamic education governance at MIN 9 Magetan. Driven by digital transformation demands, the research aims to analyze the integration of these technologies, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and evaluate their impact on educational service quality. Employing a qualitative case study design, data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings reveal that the deployment of specific MIS platforms, such as EMIS 4.0 and ERKAM, significantly enhances administrative efficiency, financial transparency, and data-driven decision-making by the madrasah leadership. Concurrently, the grassroots adoption of AI tools, including ChatGPT, Gemini, and Canva AI, empowers teachers to accelerate lesson planning, design Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) assessments, and foster pedagogical innovation through interactive learning media. While visionary leadership commitment and adequate digital infrastructure strongly support this transformation, several challenges persist. These include a digital literacy gap among senior educators experiencing cultural resistance, as well as operational disruptions caused by central server instability during critical data synchronization periods. Ultimately, the synergistic integration of MIS and AI positively impacts service quality, transparency, and accountability. Therefore, prioritizing targeted digital literacy programs and allocating dedicated budgets for comprehensive AI training are recommended to ensure sustainable implementation. This study contributes to the development of a modern Islamic education governance model that harmonizes digital technology, human resource competence, and good governance principles grounded in Islamic values.

Abstract

Daily operational financial management is critical to the smooth running of business activities, particularly in the entertainment services sector, such as playgrounds. Riatar Playground handles a high volume of daily transactions, including ticket sales, play-area rentals, and registration fees for competitions, classes, and private lessons, making manual financial record-keeping prone to errors, delayed reporting, and difficulties in monitoring cash inflows and outflows. This study therefore aims to design and build a web-based daily cash flow system that supports operational financial recording in a structured, accurate, and easily accessible manner. The system development method used is Agile Development, which allows the process to be carried out in stages and adaptively according to user needs. The planning, design, development, and testing phases were carried out iteratively across five sprints based on direct feedback from Riatar Playground's owner and staff. The developed system features daily income and expense recording, transaction categorization, role-based access for Admin and Owner, and real-time presentation of cash flow reports through an interactive dashboard. System functionality was verified using black-box testing across seven scenarios covering authentication, transaction recording, report filtering, report export, and logout, all of which produced valid outputs, yielding a 100% test pass rate. The results demonstrate that the system enhances the effectiveness and efficiency of operational financial record-keeping, reduces recording errors, and enables managers to monitor daily financial conditions in real time, supporting more orderly, transparent, and accountable financial management for small and medium-sized service businesses with heterogeneous revenue streams.

Abstract

The selection of superior oil palm seed pollination methods at PT. Bakrie Sawit Unggul (PT. Bakrie Sumatera Plantations Tbk) has conventionally relied on field experience and intuition, leading to subjective, inconsistent, and less measurable operational decisions. To address this limitation, this study develops a web-based smart agritech Decision Support System using the Simple Multi-Attribute Rating Technique (SMART) method to determine the optimal pollination strategy. The system evaluates ten pollination alternatives across five operational criteria: the number of flowers pollinated, pollination success rate, processing time, labor requirement, and pollination failure rate. Operational data were gathered through direct field observations, structured interviews, production documentation, and literature review. To facilitate multi-criteria evaluation, raw operational indicators were standardized into a 1–5 preference scale and treated as benefit criteria during linear utility calculations. The software was developed using PHP and MySQL, with functional validation conducted via Black Box Testing to ensure computational accuracy and system reliability. The calculation results demonstrate that Intensive Pollination combined with standard operating procedures (Intensive Pollination + SOP, A10) achieved the highest utility score of 0.8500, outperforming Scheduled Pollination + SOP (0.7794) and Standard SOP Pollination (0.7419). Although Alternative A10 requires greater labor allocation, this requirement is heavily compensated by superior biological success and minimized defect rates across production cycles. These findings confirm that the system provides an objective, transparent, and reproducible decision-making framework, standardizing pollination practices, mitigating production risks, and optimizing resource allocation in Seed Garden management.

Abstract

The Vehicle and Room Reservation Information System (SIMORA) was developed by the Communication and Informatics Office (Diskominfo) of Jombang Regency to digitalize the reservation of official vehicles and meeting rooms. Although fully developed, the system remains at the pre-implementation stage, making an early evaluation of user acceptance and usability essential before full deployment. This study evaluates SIMORA using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), a partial Human Organization Technology-Fit (HOT-FIT) approach focusing on the Organization Structure dimension, and the System Usability Scale (SUS). A quantitative survey involving 60 Diskominfo Jombang employees was conducted using a census (total sampling) technique. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS, complemented by descriptive analysis of the SUS score. The results indicate that all proposed hypotheses were supported, demonstrating that organizational support significantly influenced perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, which subsequently affected behavioral intention. The usability evaluation produced a mean SUS score of 75.33, categorized as acceptable, Grade B, and good. These findings indicate that SIMORA has achieved favorable user acceptance and usability, supporting its readiness for full implementation at Diskominfo Jombang Regency. This study contributes by integrating a partial HOT-FIT approach, TAM, and SUS to evaluate organizational readiness, user acceptance, and usability during the pre-implementation stage of an internal government information system.
