Abstract

This study aims to describe the social network owned by migrant farm workers in Kelurahan Gundaling I Kecamatan Berastagi Kabupaten Karo in facing difficult times. This research method is descriptive qualitative with life story case studies. The main informants in this study were three migrant farm workers who had worked as farm laborers and resided in Gundaling I Village, Berastagi District, Karo Regency for at least 5 years and had a family, the key informant in this study was the head of the Gundaling I Village and additional informants were elders in Gundaling I Village. Data were collected through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study show how a broad social network can help in dealing with difficult times, and good social network relationships can result in a patron-client relationship.

Abstract

The data used in this study is secondary data, in the form of primary legal materials, secondary legal materials and tertiary legal materials. The analysis was carried out in a juridical qualitative manner, and conclusions were drawn inductively. This study aims to determine the rationale for abolishing pretrial institutions in the 2012 KUHAP Bill and the consequences of the abolition of pretrial institutions in the 2012 KUHAP Bill towards respecting the human rights of suspects/defendant in Indonesia. The results showed that the rationale for abolishing pretrial institutions in the 2012 Criminal Procedure Code Bill was that in the 2012 Criminal Procedure Code Bill, the police and prosecutors were no longer given the authority to make arrests to the detention, so it was no longer possible to make wrongful arrests to the detention. Abstract

Women are a very vulnerable group in our society. Women are very vulnerable to sexual violence, social injustice due to the concept of gender in a society that does not have equality. Women have struggled for a long time and made various progress in every wave of their struggle. In fact, today's women's struggle has entered the fourth phase or wave, where the struggle is focused on sexual and economic violence. Even so, each region has its own root cause, in order to build universal feminism values, every group, organization or feminist community must adjust the pattern of movement so that the services and empowerment they carry out do not seriously confront the values ​​and norms of the local community. With this awareness, the women's community is present as a symbol and lighter for women's resistance and empowerment in the city of Medan. The purpose of this study was to analyze and find out in depth in order to gain new insights about the role of the Women's Feminist Community Today in empowering women in the city of Medan. Informants in this study were divided into three groups, namely key informants, namely the founders of the Perempuan Hari Ini community, the main informants were internal members of the Perempuan Hari Ini community and additional informants were feminist activists who are not internal members of the community but are often involved in activities carried out by Women Today. . Data collection techniques were carried out by literature study, observation, interviews and documentation. The data obtained were then processed qualitatively to obtain conclusions from the research. The results of the research concluded that the Today's Women's Community has a very significant role in empowering women in the city of Medan, especially for its internal members. In addition, this community has also become a symbol and a lighter to fight for gender equality so that women are more empowered.

Abstract

Indonesia as a developing country faces a problem where many people still live below the poverty line. Low levels of education, lazy to work, limited natural resources, limited employment opportunities, limited capital and others, are one of the reasons why people cannot compete for jobs and do not have the capital to improve their socio-economic conditions, causing unemployment. From the phenomena encountered in this condition, namely the emergence of migrant farm workers in several areas. The area that absorbs a lot of migrant farm workers in Kelurahan Gundaling I Kecamatan Berastagi Kabupaten Karo. This study aims to obtain an overview of the socio-economic conditions of migrant farm workers before and after migrating. In this study, the main informants of this study were three migrant farm workers who had lived for at least 5 years and had been married, the key informants were village officials, and additional informants were two land owners or service users of migrant farm workers in Kabupaten Karo. Data collection techniques were carried out by literature study, observation, interviews, and documentation. The data obtained in the field are then analyzed qualitatively to produce conclusions.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of skills in analyzing the structure of the text of the observation report after participating in learning with the CIRC learning model and to describe changes in the behavior of class X IS 1 students of SMA Negeri 1 Bilah Hulu during learning. This research was carried out in the first semester of the 2021/2022 academic year on students of class X IS 1 at SMA Negeri 1 Bilah Hulu with a sample of 32 people who were selected with the total sample technique. The method used is descriptive method, then research is carried out with observations based on the assessment table. The results showed that changes in the behavior of class X IS 1 students in learning activities in cycle I and cycle II increased. This situation can be proven by the results of the analysis of the observation sheet in cycle I and cycle II which shows the results of the analysis of the observation sheet in cycle I have an average of 62.7 and increased in the second cycle to 76. All students of class X IS 1 are enthusiastic in carrying out learning activities.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to perceive the position of marital assets in mixed marriages in terms of the provisions of the Marriage Law NO.16 of 2019, and what are the provisions for marital assets of a foreign citizen who had married in Indonesia with an Indonesian citizen. The results of this study show that property acquired during marriage becomes joint property, but the law does not distinguish what types of property can qualify as joint property. Provisions for assets in mixed marriages of different nationalities, namely between a foreign citizen and an Indonesian citizen, the arrangement is according to the law which is valid in Indonesia. Likewise with regard to joint property acquired by husband and wife in marriages of different nationalities, property that can be owned by foreign nationals is movable property, while fixed objects, such as land and those which are equated with land cannot be owned by them.

Abstract

One of the social phenomena that is currently happening in Indonesia, especially in the city of Medan, is the increasing number of street children. This study aims to find out how the process of controlling street children by the Social Service of Medan City in Medan Sunggal District. This research method is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The informants in this study were 3 street children, the Medan City Social Service and parents of street children. The results of the study indicate that the process of controlling street children in the city of Medan includes the implementation of raids by the Civil Service Police Unit, the Medan City Social Service, as well as URC Field Workers, and Polresta. After being caught in a raid, the street children will be brought to the Social Service to continue the control phase. Data collection, disclosure and understanding of the problem (assessment) at this stage, the Social Service staff will request and collect information and information on street children caught in raids. After the Social Service carried out the data collection, street children were also asked for information to reveal the cause of the children taking to the streets. The Department of Social Affairs will contact the parents of the street children through the head of the neighborhood or the kelurahan where the street children live. The provision of follow-up actions from the Social Service to street children who were caught by controlling operations were grouped based on the presence of their parents, namely: 1. To street children who have parents, 2. To street children who do not have parents. The results of interviews and observations show that the Medan City Social Service has carried out control operations / raids on street children in Sunggal Medan to reduce social problems caused by street children.

Abstract

Currently, the entire world is being affected by an illness known as Covid-19, which has spread to many parts of the globe and has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. The epidemic has had a wide range of effects in Indonesia's metropolitan areas, including the city of Medan's trade sector. A traveling baker is one of the traders we frequently encounter in Medan. The mobile baker at the DS Bakery bakery is one of the community groups affected by the pandemic, which has resulted in a fall in turnover or income, leaving them impoverished and requiring specific ways to cover their basic requirements, such as clothing, food, So that they can live, they need to be on boards. The goal of this research is to gain a better understanding of the poverty that traveling bakers face and how they cope with it. The principal informant in this study was the owner of the DS Bakery bread factory, from which the traders ordered their bread, and additional informants were two bakery customers. Literature review, observation, interviews, and documentation were all used in the data collection process. The data collected in the field is then qualitatively examined to arrive at findings. The findings of this study also show how this struggling family of traveling bakers can maintain their family's survival by employing active strategies such as maximizing family resources, passive strategies such as minimizing expenses, and network strategies such as leveraging their social connections.

Abstract

Social welfare is a state of being fulfilled both physically and spiritually. In Indonesia, to realize social welfare, various social welfare programs have been implemented, including PKH, KUBE, BLT and others. Currently, the government has formed a new program to accelerate the realization of social welfare, namely the village fund program stipulated in Law no. 6 of 2014. With the aim that every village in Indonesia can carry out development independently and can adapt the program to the needs of the village community. One of the beneficiaries of the village fund program is Maziaya Village. Through the management of village funds, priority programs have been implemented in the Maziaya Village area, namely infrastructure development, community empowerment, health, education and BUMDes. The method used in this research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach, data collection techniques are carried out by literature study, observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the priority programs that have been implemented through the management of village funds have had an impact in improving the welfare of the community in Maziaya Village, Lotu District, North Nias Regency.

Abstract

Drug abuse is a serious and very complex problem. Bandar Baru Village was formerly known as a stopover place for using the services of commercial sex workers (PSK). However, over time Bandar Baru Village turned into a place for drug trafficking. This makes many people fall into drug abuse. Bandar Baru Village is now known as a drug village because of the many acts of abuse among the people of Bandar Baru Village. With all the problems there are several efforts that have been made by the people of Bandar Baru Village to change the negative stigma that exists in this village, because this study aims to describe the efforts of the Bandar Baru village community in changing the negative stigma of a drug village into a prosperous village. The informants in this study were two addicts, the head of the youth organization, the head of the PKK, and two people from the new city community. Data collection techniques were carried out by literature study, observation, interviews and documentation. The data that has been collected will then be analyzed descriptively qualitatively and produce conclusions. The results of this study indicate that there are community empowerment efforts (promotive, preventive, curative, social action), rehabilitative and repressive carried out by the Bnadar Baru village community to change the stigma of Bandar Baru village from a drug village to a prosperous village.
