Abstract

This study examines the role of peers and their impact on the learning motivation of fifth-grade students at Sidokare 1 Public Elementary School. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach, data was collected through interviews and documentation from both students and teachers. Findings indicate that peers significantly contribute to motivating learning by providing encouragement, studying together, and acting as problem-solving companions. The positive impact of peers on learning motivation underscores their importance as benchmarks and motivators for academic achievement. Understanding peer dynamics in elementary education is crucial for fostering supportive learning environments and enhancing student engagement. Further research focusing on peer influence among adolescents can provide additional insights into developmental aspects of peer interactions and their effects on learning motivation.Highlight: Peer Encouragement: Crucial for motivating learning and academic achievement. Abstract

This class action research investigates the efficacy of mosaic activities with loose parts materials in enhancing fine motor skills among 5-6-year-old children at TK Dharma Wanita Persatuan Anggaswangi. Utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation, the study conducted three cycles of research, observing a significant improvement from 52.8% to 82.4% in children's fine motor skills. These findings highlight the effectiveness of incorporating mosaic activities with loose parts materials in early childhood education, offering insights for educators and curriculum developers aiming to enrich motor skills development in young learners. Abstract

This study investigates the impact of the OPEN-MURDER scenario on the learning outcomes of 36 Software Engineering program students in Vocational Schools (SMK). Utilizing a quasi-experimental design, pretest-posttest assessments were conducted to measure learning outcomes before and after implementing OPEN-MURDER, focusing on mood, understanding, recall, digest, expand, and review. Results show a significant improvement, with pretest scores averaging 71.72 and posttest scores 89.53 (p < 0.05). The findings underscore OPEN-MURDER's positive influence on SMK students' learning outcomes, suggesting its potential as an effective teaching model to enhance motivation, problem-solving skills, and classroom engagement. Future research could explore comparative analyses with control groups and encourage educators to adopt OPEN-MURDER for innovative teaching practices. Abstract

This study explores the efficacy of implementing outdoor learning to enhance student collaboration in fourth-grade science education at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Candi Sidoarjo, addressing a gap in research regarding its application in primary school science education. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with observation, interviews, and documentation, data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model. Results indicate successful implementation of outdoor learning, fostering collaboration among students, particularly in accepting responsibility, assisting peers, and respecting opinions. Variations in collaboration effectiveness were noted between student groups. Findings suggest that carefully planned outdoor learning activities can create an engaging learning environment, improving student collaboration and overall learning outcomes in primary school science education. Abstract

This study investigates the efficacy of folding activities to enhance fine motor skills in Group A children at RA An Nur Kedung Jumputrejo Sukodono Sidoarjo, utilizing Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis and McTaggart models. Fourteen children (9 boys, 5 girls) participated in Pre Cycle, Cycle 1, and Cycle 2 interventions, with data collected via observation, documentation, and interviews. Results show a remarkable improvement from a baseline fine motor skill percentage of 35% in Pre Cycle to 95% in Cycle 2, surpassing the 75% success indicator. These findings underscore the effectiveness of folding activities in early childhood education and provide valuable insights for educators aiming to enhance motor skill development in young learners. Abstract

This study addresses the challenge of vowel recognition among 3-4-year-old children, focusing on vowels like “e,” “u,” and “o.” Using a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach, twelve children at KB Aisyiyah 17 Jasem participated in pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II interventions. The results showed a significant improvement from a 33.3% recognition rate in the pre-cycle to 95.3% in cycle II, indicating the effectiveness of using ball letter media. This research highlights the importance of tailored teaching methods in enhancing early childhood learning outcomes, particularly in improving vowel recognition skills. Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of Pictorial Montage activities in enhancing fine motor skills among 5-6-year-old children in group B. Conducted through Classroom Action Research (CAR) with iterative cycles, the research involved 11 students from TK Tunas Bangsa Sukodono. Data collection included observation, interviews, and documentation. Results showed a gradual increase from 47% in pre-cycle to 90.1% in cycle II, indicating success in improving fine motor skills. These findings underscore the importance of engaging methods like Pictorial Montage for effective motor skill development in early childhood education. Abstract

Induction motors often face issues with large initial currents that can disrupt networks and damage the motors. This study designs a soft starter for single-phase induction motors using an IoT-based Arduino Uno system to regulate initial current surges and enable remote monitoring via the Blynk App. The system uses the AC Light Dimmer module controlled by Arduino Uno and Wemos D1 Mini microcontrollers, with the PZEM-004T sensor detecting current and voltage. Experimental results showed a significant reduction in initial current, averaging 0.48 A and 201.90 V within 10 seconds. Additionally, the system allows for monitoring from up to 16 km away using an Android smartphone, providing an effective solution for managing induction motor performance and ensuring reliable operation. Abstract

In the dynamic realm of automotive engineering, particularly in Formula Society of Automotive Engineers (FSAE) racing, where vehicle assessment is based on efficiency, motor power, chassis dynamics, and steering, there exists a notable focus on steering system design. This research delves into the conceptualization and component development aimed at aiding automotive mechanics in crafting steering systems for FSAE race cars. Employing Solid Edge 2021 software, the study utilizes the Design of Assembly (DFA) analysis method to streamline the mechanical process. Through DFA analysis, the study assesses various Technical Attributes (TAs) of the steering system, revealing values ranging from 0.548 to 1.765. The ideal steering system ensures that the desired steering input by the driver aligns with the output motion of the vehicle, known as the Ackerman condition. Steering gear mechanisms translate rotational motion into translation and adjust the effort applied to the steering linkage. The study's findings contribute to the advancement of steering system design in FSAE vehicles, emphasizing ergonomic considerations and the utilization of advanced software tools like Catia and Solid Edge 2021 for enhanced performance and safety. This study explores the development of a Ball Turning Attachment for lathes to enhance efficiency in manufacturing spherical workpieces. Utilizing materials such as ST 37 and ST 42, the research focuses on the machining processes of milling, drilling, and turning. Despite theoretical estimations suggesting a total work time of 8 minutes 23 seconds, actual implementation records a duration of 12 minutes 23 seconds, highlighting a significant knowledge gap. Experimental procedures conducted in lathe workshops reveal discrepancies between theoretical and actual work times, influenced by factors like feed depth and manual drilling processes. Findings underscore the importance of optimizing tool design and feed rates to improve machining efficiency, offering practical insights for enhancing lathe manufacturing processes and productivity.
