Abstract

To meet the nutritional needs of the people of Jakarta, urban agriculture is one of the food supply solutions. This study analyzes community expectations for participation in sustainable urban agriculture in Jakarta. The latest developments of this study provide results on the impact of economic, health and environmental variables on people's expectations for the sustainability of urban agriculture in Jakarta. The novelty of this study is that it considers the theme of the study, namely the inhabitants of the city of Jakarta, engaged in urban agriculture, a total of 112 respondents. The results of this study indicate that economic, health and environmental variables, simultaneously or in part, positively influence the expectations of community involvement in the sustainability of urban agricultural activities in the city of Jakarta. Based on these findings, it can be said that the expectation of community engagement in sustainable urban agriculture in Jakarta translates into greater productivity, knowledge, skills, awareness and understanding of the existence of clear regulations. The corrected R-square value is 0.704 based on the results of the coefficients that determine the impact of economic, health and environmental factors on community participation expectations in the sustainability of urban agriculture in Jakarta. In other words, 70.4% of community participation expectations in urban agriculture depend on economic factors, while health and other environmental factors depend on other factors. Expectations for community involvement in sustainable urban agriculture are already high and Jakarta's food security can be ensured later.

Abstract

There has been a shift toward placing an excessive amount of focus on financial, legal, and regulatory factors, as well as environmental variables, in entrepreneurship courses. The research team in this study set out to answer the question, "How does entrepreneurship training affect business performance in Bungoma County?" Because of its extreme poverty and high unemployment rate, Bungoma County was named a Millennium District in 2006. Stakeholders' attempts to boost entrepreneurs' capacity through a range of training programs have been attributed to a lack of entrepreneurial culture and entrepreneurial abilities among the indigenous people, who face the twin issues of extreme poverty and unemployment. To what extent these trainings impacted business performance was the focus of this research. This research built on Kirkpatrick's (2003) revised model for program evaluation and planning in training. The data from the study were analyzed using a correlational technique. Based on the results of the research, it is clear that the trainings did not significantly improve participants' MSE scores. There was no clear progression from micro to small to medium to large firms across the enterprise continuum, highlighting the need for enhancement to meet the specific needs of entrepreneurs and small business owners. There has to be a standardized method for the government and enterprise development agents to assess the effectiveness of training and make adjustments for the betterment of the sector.

Abstract

If the subject of dividend distribution is limited to what the dividends actually represent, there should be no room for uncertainty in the conversation. However, dividends, which are defined as a portion of a company's profit that belongs to each shareholder at the end of each financial year, in relation to the shares held by him, can raise new questions in many different respects. Not only can they raise questions about when they can be requested or who they belong to in the case of the transfer of shares (aspects to which the doctrine has already given an answer), but they can also raise questions about their situation in the event that the company is dissolved. As a result, the topic that is being discussed in this investigation is whether or not shareholders will have the opportunity to exercise their entitlement to dividends in the event that the corporation is dissolved by a court of law.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to present a critical review of the ways in which the performance of university teachers are usually evaluated. Generally, the institutions state proposal of evaluation that usually coincide with what is evaluated and the use of the results. It includes the review of the different evaluation models to show the discrepancies between the objectives and the practices, that is, the poor relationship between the model used and what is done. Universities usually declare that the focus of the evaluation is improvement of practice. One of the most used instruments is the questionnaire, with which an accurate measurement can be made, but generally it does not evaluate the teaching performance, but, in the best-case scenario, the opinion of the students. If universities state that the evaluation should serve to improve the teaching practice, it would be advisable to favor the constructivist model that promotes changes required through the reflection that arises from the review of the self-evaluation, the hetero-evaluation and the co- evaluation.

Abstract

The emergence of the industrial era 4.0 led to the need for changes in the world of education to compensate for the increase in this industry. Teaching factory learning itself has a function to be able to prepare graduates who the industry can immediately absorb. To see the success of the teaching factory, a comprehensive evaluation is needed so that the strengths and weaknesses of the teaching factory can be known. This study uses a descriptive approach based on a literature review. The research data were obtained from various research results and previous studies still relevant to this research. From the results of this study, it was concluded that the implementation of the teaching factory was still not running correctly because there was no common understanding regarding the teaching factory learning pattern among the parties concerned. In addition, there are limitations in resources, so as a result, schools have difficulties implementing optimal teaching factories.

Abstract

Abstract

The study was aimed at evaluating the antioxidant activity of Zingiber officinale Roscoe (ginger) extract compared to antioxidant compounds such as; Butyl Hydroxy toluene (BHT), Diethyl-dithiocarbamate (DDC) and Ascorbic Acid (Vit. C). The antioxidant activity (DPPH), total phenolic content (TPC) and reducing power (RP) were studied. DPPH inhibitory values demonstrated through IC50 from ginger extract were significantly lower than those of other antioxidants at the same concentrations: ginger (122.2 ± 16.78%), Vit. C (158.21 ± 4.14%), BHT (195.84 ± 5.94%) and DDC (240.39 ± 43.75%) respectively. This proves that ginger extract is more active inhibiting DPPH free radicals. At a concentration of 100 μg / ml, the TPC level indicates the order: Vit. C > DDC > BHT > ginger respectively. As for RP test at concentration 100 μg / ml also Vit. C > ginger > DDC > BHT respectively. The results obtained in present study indicate that, ginger extract is a potential source of natural antioxidant capable of inhibiting and breaking the free radical chain and it’s expected to suppress the development of degenerative cells diseases.
