Abstract

The law is God's commandment that shows His love and will. For this reason, the law becomes something that is important to be applied in the lives of God's people. However, it seems that there are contradictions regarding the law in Paul's letters both among theologians and people in general, giving rise to various interpretations. This diversity of interpretations raises questions about what the true essence of the law is that can still be relevant for God's people to apply today. Therefore, this article wants to describe the theological meaning of the law in Paul's writings that are relevant to the practical application of God's people today. This effort is carried out by the author by reviewing the background of some of Paul's letters which describe the law, so that he can further extract the theological values of the law contained therein. Through this, it can be understood that the law is practically relevant today by understanding that the law is all forms of feelings and actions that emanate from the heart to manifest love for God and others

Abstract

The teachings of Jesus in the Gospels contain very many parables. These parables remain relevant in the context of today's life which is very complex in its aspects of life. Apart from that, the reading of parables is often read in an allegorical style that has been passed down by the church fathers and has been going on for a very long time. The church should have a new way of reading parable texts to get a more contextual meaning of the text today. This article tries to present an existentialist approach to reading the parables of Jesus, namely one of reading parable texts by understanding these parables as pure parables of that era. The writer argues that by reading Luke 18: 9-14 with an existentialist approach, the meaning of justification intended by Jesus in the text will be found clearly.

Abstract

Liturgy is not only about the arrangement of the service program, not only about the agenda of worship. But the service itself is a liturgy. Because of this, we know the terms Sunday worship liturgy, family worship liturgy, marriage confirmation and blessing liturgy, funeral liturgy and so on. What exactly do we understand by liturgical theology and virtual worship? Because churches have held virtual services and liturgy, which were not held before. And will virtual worship still be relevant when the pandemic has passed? Therefore, this article is intended to examine the theology of liturgy and virtual worship. Liturgical theology and virtual worship are actually theology and reflection, as well as Christian congregational activities that can be applied or practiced directly in certain situations, in this case during the Covid-19 pandemic. When the Covid-19 pandemic has passed, then virtual worship is possible is no longer needed. Because basically direct fellowship in places of worship or churches, where the congregation meets and shakes hands in person, is an essential need for humans as social creatures. However, it is still possible to hold virtual services because it is necessary for congregants who are sick and have permanent illnesses, so that congregants cannot come to worship at the house of worship directly and want to receive online worship services.

Abstract

Science and technology are often opposed to the Bible and faith, both by Christians and non-Christians. Many people think that the Bible and Christian faith have no correlation. Even more so, secular people tend to despise the values contained in the Bible and the Christian faith. Various methods and methods were developed and carried out to doubt and discredit the Bible and the Christian faith. Moreover, in the current context, the Bible and the Christian faith are seen as outdated and no longer relevant to the current context of human life. They think that the Bible and the Christian faith cannot answer human needs today because they have no correlation at all. To answer the view above, the researcher attempts to show that in the real world, both in the past and in the present, the Bible and the Christian faith remain relevant to the context of human life in all times. That the Bible and Christian faith have a close correlation with science and technology. The truth of science and technology is not only supported by the Bible, but the Bible can also be used as a foundation in efforts to think and search for truth in science and technology. This research was conducted using qualitative methods and literature study, namely research with descriptive analytical presentation. Data was compiled and obtained through literature studies sourced from research results, books and journals which were then analyzed descriptively and presented in writing in the form of a scientific journal about The Correlation Of Science And Technology With The Bible And Christian Faith In The Lives Of Believers.

Abstract

In the era of information that continues to develop, someone can be influenced by hoax information that has no basis. Social media makes it easy to access information and establish communication (Rohmadi, 2016). A crucial problem that is currently troubling in the digital era is the increasing prevalence of hoax information. Kasperek & Messersmith (2015) stated that hoax information spreads quickly. Hoaxes can mislead and influence public perception so that the information is considered the truth. but also in the understanding that Jesus is not seen as God (Allah) because He had human form and also carried out activities like an ordinary human being (Skepticism) because a wrong understanding of the truth of God's word has fatal consequences in the growth of faith of believers today, including in believing in everything text of God's word. For researchers, it is very important to review the movement and way of thinking of Modernism and a certain picture of the world that was originally inspired by Descartes, which emphasized the concept of "doubt" so that humans must use their minds to answer their doubts. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method using the method of tracing history and its development. Where these developments start from the birth of modernism, the impact and handling of it in today's Christian faith. So that today's Christians will not be influenced by the wrong theological understanding in the era of modernism. The Bible remains the main standard of faith in Christianity.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the importance of using or exploiting technology in carrying out the mission of today's church. Contemporary Christian mission cannot be accomplished by itself, even ignoring the importance of technology in it. Based on an investigation using the library research method, this research found that the role of technology in today's Christian Mission is vital and cannot be ignored. However, the use of technology in the context of Christian Missions must also pay attention to Christian ethical principles and consider the consequences of unethical use of technology. With the right strategy and adequate development of technological skills, technology can be an effective tool to assist Christian Missions in sharing the message of God's truth and love.
