Abstract

Jember Regency is one of the largest coffee producing regions in East Java with productivity reaching 11,859 kg/ha in 2020. One of the robusta coffee producers in Jember Regency is Perumda Perkebunan Kahyangan. Coffee production produced by Perumda Perkebunan Kahyangan is still at grade three. One of the causes of less than optimal production results is the lack of temperature control in the roasting process. The roasting process determines the taste of coffee. This is due to the chemical changes that occur in the coffee bean. Chemical changes occur due to loss of dry weight, especially CO2 gas and pyrolysis process occurs. Therefore this study aims to design a roasting temperature control device using the Arduino Promini microcontroller and a thermocouple sensor as a temperature sensor. There are four stages carried out in the design of automation on the roaster machine, namely: the design stage is carried out with four stages, namely hardware and software design, the implementation stage of the automated device system on the roaster machine, the data collection stage, and the data collection stage.

Abstract

Tanaman padi merupakan makanan pokok masyarakat di Indonesia dan menjadi komoditas pertanian yang banyak dibudidayakan di Indonesia hampir di setiap musim tanam. Ini menjadikan budidaya tanaman padi menjadi salah satu mata pencaharian para petani. Pendapatan petani diperoleh dari hasil penerimaani usahatani akan dikurangi dengan jumlah biaya total usahatani. Pendapatan usahatani dipengaruhi oleh banyak faktor beberapa diantaranya biaya usahatani, luas lahan, jumlah produksi, pola rotasi tanam dan banyak lagi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat Komparasi Pendapatan Usahatani Padi Pengguna Dan Non Pengguna Sistem Rotasi Tanaman Di Desa Tampingmojo Kecamatan Tembelang Kabupaten Jombang. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kuantitatif, dan banyak sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu sebanyak 32 responden dengan metode penyebaran kuesioner menggunakan metode Purposive Sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: faktor-faktor yang berpenganguh secara signifikan terhadap pendapatan petani di Desa Tampingmojo Kecamatan Tembelang Kabupaten Jombang yaitu variabel biaya usahatani dan system tanam. Sedangkan variabel yang tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap pendapatan petani di Desa Tampingmojo yaitu variabel luas lahan dan produksi.

Abstract

Robusta coffee (Coffea robusta L.) is one of the plantation commodities that has a very high economic value among other crops and coffee plays a very important role for the country's source of income. The Wonosalam area, Jombang Regency, has many types of coffee and the types of coffee in the Wonosalam plantations are very complete, ranging from Arabica, Robusta, and Excelsa. All three types thrive together, in one expanse. The various types of coffee bring distinct advantages for coffee farmers. One of the coffee plants that influence coffee production is the application of coffee cultivation techniques, for example by making dead-end trench, for the decomposition process. In this study, we will examine the effect of dead-end trench on pest attacks on coffee plants, in order to produce quality productivity. This research was carried out in the Wonosalam sub-district, Jombang Regency. This research was carried out directly in the field using a Completely Randomized Block Design (RAKL). The effect of using dead-end trench on pest attacks on Robusta coffee is not much different from the treatment without using dead-end trench, this is caused by several factors, including the influence of ambient temperature, humidity, wind speed and light intensity.

Abstract

Rice washing water is household waste that is often wasted and is no longer used, even though rice washing water still contains nutrients in the form of vitamins A, C, B1, carbohydrates, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, nitrogen and iron. Vitamin B1 (thiamin) dissolves in water when washing rice. Vitamin B1 contained in the water used to wash rice has a role in metabolism. The nutritional content in rice washing water can be used to support the growth and development of chili plants. In this study, rice washing water was used as liquid fertilizer for chili plants. The research design was a completely randomized design with the holding variable being the concentration of rice washing water (0%, 25%, 50% 75% and 100%) with 3 repetitions each. The data obtained were analyzed using SPSS Anava followed by Duncan's test. The results showed that the concentration of rice washing water at 100% was the treatment that had the best effect on the growth of chili plants (Capsicum frutescens).

Abstract

Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) are bacteria that are widely found in traditional fermented products from Indonesia. Processed Indonesian products containing LAB are made by involving the process of fermenting foodstuffs with starch-based ingredients such as glutinous tape. Processed tape made from glutinous rice fermented by yeast. This study aims to determine the number of isolates contained in fermented sticky rice and find out how the characteristics of LAB isolates in fermented sticky rice are circulating in Citra Niaga Market, Jombang. This research is expected to be the basis for further research to determine the potential of LAB and diversity in glutinous tape. In this study, BAL was isolated from 3 brands of sticky tape circulating in the Legi Jombang Market using the isolation method with a multilevel dilution technique and showed a different number of microbes in each sample. In sample 1 there were 1.7 × 106 CFU/ml, in sample 2 there were 3.0 × 107 CFU/ml while in sample 3 there were microbes with a total of 1.14 × 105 CFU/ml. In this study it was suspected that the isolates obtained belonged to the genus Streptococcus.
