Jurnal Paraguna merupakan jurnal di lingkungan Jurusan Karawitan, Fakultas Seni Pertunjukan ISBI Bandung, yang mengedepankan pelestarian, pengelolaan dan pengembangan potensi seni, serta budaya dan kearifan lokal nusantara yang berdaya saing dalam percaturan global. Karawitan secara khusus dapat diartikan sebagai seni musik tradisional yang terdapat di seluruh wilayah etnik Indonesia. Khususnya di Pulau Jawa, Madura dan Bali. Dalam hal ini, jurusan karawitan ISBI Bandung menjadikan kebudayan Sunda sebagai kekhususan etnis yang dimaksud.

Abstract

Kreativitas dalam degung merupakan wujud nyata dari berkembang-nya konsep musik para seniman Sunda mengikuti era perkembangan zaman. Berbagai ide muncul dengan inovasinya masing-masing dalam menciptakan kreasi-kreasi baru degung. Hal tersebut menjadi fenomena dalam karawitan Sunda dengan memunculkan fase baru yang dinamakan degung kreasi. Nano yang muncul sebagai agen perubahan di dalamnya berhasil menjadi pintu gerbang semakin maraknya kreativitas yang terjadi. Perubahan yang muncul menjauhkannya dari akar ke-klasik-an degung. Namun, model-model kreatif yang muncul kemudian tetap memiliki modal awal yang sama yaitu tradisi, baik instrumen, laras, pola-pola garapan, penggarap, hingga penik-matnya, sehingga masyarakat merasa cocok dan tetap menerima serta meli-hatnya sebagai bentuk perkembangan degung.

Abstract

Basically, during the struggle for Indonesian independence, not only the politicians and the military were involved (1945-1949), but the entire Indonesian community, including the artists in Sundanese musicals. The purpose of writing this article aims to reveal the participation of Sundanese musicians during the Independence period. It was pretty significant considering the role of Sundanese music in the struggle for independence is still little shown in Indonesian history. The method used is the historical method which includes the stages of heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The result was found in musical works that ignited the spirit of the struggle for independence, such as Halo-Halo Bandung, Mars Siliwangi, Karatagan Pahlawan, and Dikantun Tugas.

Abstract

This paper presents the process of cultural inculturation through an empiricism approach. This cultural inculturation is carried out in the context of efforts to promote culture in the field of art through education. in practice, efforts to promote culture in the arts in the world of education are carried out using art appreciation methods and workshops. This effort is considered to have a fairly high effectiveness in inculturation efforts, because in practice, students who are the targets of inculturation can experience firsthand traditional arts (especially) which are the targets of cultural advancement.

Abstract

Bangkong Reang art is a typical Sundanese art that grows and develops in the agrarian area. This art is influenced by the ecosystem in the area, but its existence is now less preserved along with the entry of outside cultures. The creativity of the Gema Panglipur Art Group was able to maintain the art of Bangkong Reang in the midst of the outbreak of foreign culture.

Abstract

ABSTRAKDoel Sumbang merupakan penyanyi sekaligus pencipta lagu yang eksentrik. Ia dikenal sebagai seniman yang memiliki hobi menyuarakan kritik sosial. Melalui lirik (sastra) lagu, ia seringkali menyiratkan nilai dan makna mendalam tentang keadilan dan kesejahteraan sosial.  Salah satu karyanya adalah lagu berjudul Beurit yakni lagu yang menceritakan sosok koruptor. Dalam hal ini, data-data didapatkan melalui koleksi lagu, studi literatur serta mengamati pandangan-pandangan Doel Sumbang melalui internet. Kemudian, untuk mengetahui struktur puisi, aspek semiotik termasuk nilai dan makna lirik lagu Beurit, analisis akan dilakukan dengan menggunakan kajian struktural-semiotik Charles Sander Pierce yakni mengenai ikon, indeks dan simbol. Melalui analisis tersebut, nilai dan makna lirik lagu Beurit dapat diketahui yakni kritik terhadap para pejabat yang melakukan tindakan tidak terpuji dan merugikan bangsa dan negara yakni Korupsi, Kolusi dan Nepotisme (KKN). Kata Kunci : Doel Sumbang, Beurit, Struktural-Semiotik Pierce. ABSTRACKDoel Sumbang is an eccentric singer and songwriter. He is known as an artist who has a hobby of voicing social criticism. Through song lyrics, he often implies deep values and meanings about justice and social welfare. One of his works is a song called Beurit, which is a song that tells the story of a corruptor. In this case, the data were obtained through song collections, literature studies and observing Doel Sumbang's views via the internet. Then, to find out the structure of the poem, the semiotic aspects including the value and meaning of Beurit's song lyrics, the analysis will be carried out using a structural-semiotic study of Charles Sander Pierce, namely icons, indexes and symbols. Through this analysis, the value and meaning of Beurit's song lyrics can be identified, namely criticism of officials who carry out disgraceful actions and harm the nation and state, namely Corruption, Collusion and Nepotism (KKN). Keywords: Doel Sumbang, Beurit, Semiotic-Structural.

Abstract

Kacapi Tunggal is an art in which the performance only uses the Kacapi musical instrument. It was created by a sinden named Yoyoh Supriatin with different Kacapi picking patterns and is the hallmark of this Kacapi Tunggal art. This study aims to see the existence of a Kacapi Tunggal in modern society. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method, by observing the community and producing descriptive data in writing. Based on the data collected, it can be concluded that the existence of the Kacapi Tunggal Yoyoh Supriatin began to be displaced by the number of foreign arts entering Indonesia.

Abstract

The presence of social media as a communication tool for people in urban and rural areas has an impact on traditional culture in Indonesia. There is an interesting phenomenon about traditional music in the commercial sphere in the West Java community in particular. This phenomenon is commonly referred to as nyambat. The emergence of this phenomenon usually occurs in arts that invite large audiences, such as wayang golek and kiliningan. Interestingly, this phenomenon can be a selling point for an entrepreneur or alok. This study uses a qualitative method with a number of data obtained through observation, interviews and documentation techniques with an ethnographic approach. Through this article, researchers will discuss the phenomenon of nyambat wiraswara in wayang golek performances, kiliningan and the impact of social media on this phenomenon.

Abstract

Creativity is a person's ability to produce a new work that comes from himself or the development of an existing work so that it becomes a new work. Ujang Sitertone has done this creative thing by developing a Kacapi siter which is combined with Midi technology to create a Kacapi sitertone. The purpose of this research is to describe, document and introduce Ujang's Kacapi sitertone which is not known to many people. This study uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques, namely documentation, observation, and interviews. Kacapi Sitertone is an innovation of Kacapi siter that has the advantage that it can accompany various genres of songs using styles such as keyboard/organizational/electronic. The songs that can be accompanied by Kacapi are also very diverse, ranging from old songs, Sundanese Pop, Indonesian Pop, Western, Reggae to Keroncong.

Abstract

Adjip Rosidi dalam bukunya yang berjudul Tembang Jeung Kawih (2013), memaparkan 61 buah judul yang dikategorikan sebagai tembang, dari 61 judul tersebut 35 di antaranya dicatat sebagai NN (anonim). Apa yang melatarbelakangi banyaknya NN dalam tradisi musik di Sunda? Padahal, sebagaimana dalam hasil penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Herdini (2014), bahwa setiap karya yang merepresentasikan zaman, kreator merupakan unsur yang tidak bisa dipisahkan dalam merepresentasikan pembabakan kreatifitas musikal.[1] Dari pembabakan zaman tersebut, maka muncullah nama-nama seperti; Mang Koko di era pertengahan abad ke 20, hingga Ismet Ruchimat bersama Samba Sunda di era mutakhir.Fakta yang ditunjukkan Rosidi (2014) terkait banyaknya karya musik Sunda yang tanpa pencipta, bisa ditemukan tidak hanya untuk lagu-lagu yang dikenal dikalangan tertentu secara terbatas saja, melainkan juga untuk lagu-lagu yang sudah populer di pentas nasional hingga internasional. Sebut saja lagu es lilin, di mana lagu tersebut selain sudah dikenal luas di lingkungan masyarakat Sunda dan Jawa Barat, secara nasional juga telah dikenal sebagai identitias musik Sunda, dan tak jarang sudah banyak dipentaskan dalam mewakili Indonesia di pentas dunia.Namun demikian, kenyataan popularitas lagu-nya berbanding terbalik dengan sosok penciptanya yang hingga kini tidak diketahui secara umum.Mengetahui siapa pencipta lagu di antara fenomena NN, tidak hanya penting dalam menemukan empu-nya lagu, tetapi dalam konteks masa kini juga penting untuk mengisi semangat riset akademik yang masih dianggap belum tersentuh. Dalam batas peristiwa NN dan sosok pencipta lagu es lilin itulah tulisan ini memfokuskan diri.
