Cakrawala: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan (P-ISSN:1858-4497, E-ISSN: 2549-9300) is a scholarly journal aimed to provide a platform for both established and early-career researchers. Contributions for future editions are welcome. Starting from Vol. 12 No. 1, Cakrawala has been accredited SINTA 3 by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Ristekdikti) of The Republic of Indonesia based on Director Decree No. 23/E/KPT/2019 dated 08 Agustus 2019. The Decree is as an achievement for the Peer-reviewed journal which has excellent quality in management and publication and is effective for 5 years until 2023.

Abstract

This type of research is the experiment (quantitative). Various obstacles in the process of learning mathematics has been experienced by the students and teachers themselves in the learning process of mathematics and thus require learning method is suitable. This study aims to know the effectiveness of peer-assisted learning modules to improve communication mathematical Students on number theory material. The subjects of this study Computer Engineering Polytechnic students DIII Harapan Bersama Tegal First Semester classes A and B of the academic year 2016/2017. Data collection methods using observation, interview, test questions such as the validity, reliability, discrimination power, level of difficulty of the questions. The results of the study as follows: (1) individual mastery fulfill minimum criteria completeness (65), classical completeness 75% the proportion of students already get more than 65 already exceeded 75%; (2) the ability of mathematical communications student peer-assisted learning modules at 81.10 is higher than expository amounted to 67.90; (3) an increased ability for 0,397 students mathematic communication medium category.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect game play habits and self-concept of the ability of solving mathematical problems. Data analysis technique used was regression analysis with two predictors. From the alculation Freg = 4.88 Ftable= 3.09 and. It concluded that Freg very significant because Freg> Ftable. This showed that there was a significant relationship between game playing habits and self-concept of the ability of solving mathematical problems. From the regression analysis of the predictors obtained t gaming habits and self-concept respectively - were at 2.29 and 2.24 and 1.98 t-table. So t-test habit of playing the game and the concept of self was greater than t-table. From the comparison between t-test and t-able, it could be concluded that there was an effect between the habit of playing the game on problem-solving ability and there was an effect between the self-concept and the ability of mathematical problem solving.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to describe the process and the role of character education at University of Pancasakti Tegal. The research used qualitative descriptive approach. Data collected by Penelitian menerapkan pendekatan diskriptif kualitatif. Data obtained by observation and depth interviews with a number of lecturer, staff, and student who got involved in character education at University of Pancasakti Tegal, in limited ways. The data sources were not chosen randomly, but were determined to people who were considered to know a lot about the problems studied. Data processing run simultaneously withdata collection, as well as through the process of triangulation data so that the data obtained was tested. The results of the study illustrated, that the implementation of character education at the University Pancasakti Tegal run through various units, namely units Course Personality Development, Student Activity Unit and Spirituality Unit , each had been running well, but all three units need to be synergized and continuously improved. The implication of these results is that the character education at the University Pancasakti Tegal be laid out in a comprehensive and enhanced on an ongoing basis so that the results can really helpful.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the ability to write essay description of the group taught using image media and the group taught without using image media to the students of class VII SMP Negeri 2 Petarukan Pemalang, to describe differences in the ability of the group taught using image media and the group taught without using image media in class VII SMP Negeri 2 Petarukan Pemalang, and to describe the effectiveness of the use of image media in teaching essay writing descriptions in class VII SMP Negeri 2 Petarukan Pemalang. The sampling technique in this research was done by simple random sampling technique. The sample in this research was class VII A as a control group and class VII B as the experimental group. Data collection techniques used was a test. Data was analyzed using t-test non-independent and independent t test. The results showed that there were differences between the description of the essay writing skills taught using image media group and groups that taught without using image media. Results t-value experimental group was 22.06 and the results of t-value control group was 13,81. The experimental group t-value was higher than the control group. The use of image media in teaching essay writing descriptions more effective than without the use of image media. This was proved from the results of the independent t test calculations t-value 5.27> 2.00 t-table. Based on the research results suggests to students to increase interest and ability to write, because writing is one of the four language skills that need to be learned and mastered. Teachers should be more innovative and creative in making or selecting appropriate learning media in order to attract the attention of students in learning activities, so that student achievement will increase

Abstract

The research aims to 1) know the level of career planning skills learners 2) know the level of career planning skills. 3) Know the effectiveness of content mastery services trough audiovisual media at SMK Negeri 1 Slawi. The research was experimental with one group pre-test and post-test Design. Data collection used psychological scale, interview and observation. The validity of the instrument using the product moment formula. Reliability using the Spearman-Brown correlation formula. Methods of data analysis used descriptive analysis and t-test percentage. The results of the study before the given service with a content mastery audiovisual media had a percentage of 29.2% definiteness career planning (lower category). After obtaining services increased to 37.5% (medium category). Based on the results of the analysis of the t-test result of 9.344 t-count which then consulted with t-table at significance level of 5% was 1,714, so t-count > t-table. It was concluded that content mastery services trough audiovisual media was effective in students’ definiteness career planning. The research gives suggestions that counselors more varied in content mastery provision of services to assist students in making career planning appropriately.

Abstract

In the learning process Diploma Study Program of Mechanical Engineering Polytechnic Harapan Bersama Tegal , it was found that there was lack of understanding of students in digesting the material issues related to advanced calculus, observation of the learning process only dominated by a model of learning lectures, discussion and administration tasks. As a result of this situation adversely affects the student problem-solving abilities. An appropriate mathematics learning model should be implemented to solve this problem. The research employed action research design and Cooperative - Cooperative (Co-op co-op) model to improve problem-solving abilities of students in the subject of advanced calculus, the purpose of this study was to determine whether the type of learning model Co-op co-op could improve problem-solving skills students of Diploma Study Program of Mechanical Engineering Polytechnic Harapan Bersama Tegal. There were 21 students who took advanced calculus courses. The learning media were course material unit, evaluation tools, observation sheet, and worksheet for group discussions. The research consisted of two cycles with the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Both cycles used employed Co-op co-op learning model. And the results showed problem solving capability was increased significantly on advanced calculus course. There were 90.48% of 21 students received grades ≥70 in accordance with the specified minimum grades.

Abstract

A profession of teacher cannot be forced, since it comes from their self-awareness and sincerity. Teacher Training Institute (LPTK) as an institute which produces teachers has an important role in producing professional teachers. Based on the background above, this research tries to find out whether there is a significant effect between students’ motivation and choosing on study program at Faculty of Teacher Training and Education in Pancasakti University Tegal and whether there is significant relationship between their understanding on teacher profession in choosing study program at Faculty of Teacher Training and Education in Pancasakti University Tegal. This research is a case study which concerns on finding determination factors in influencing students in choosing their study program in Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. The instrument to collect the data is questionnaire. The result of questionnaire which has been completed by students of seven study programs in the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education in Pancasakti University Tegal is calculated and analyzed by statistic calculation using SPSS program. This research result shows there is no significant effect between students’ motivation in choosing study program at Faculty of Teacher Training and Education in Pancasakti University Tegal as well as there is also no significant relationship between students’ understanding on teacher profession in choosing study program at Faculty of Teacher Training and Education in Pancasakti University Tegal

Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe aspects of moral values the main character in the novel Surat Kecil Untuk Tuhan by Agnes Davonar (2) describe the implications for learning. The source of data in this study was Surat Kecil Untuk Tuhan by Agnes Davonar thick 235 pages, published by Agnes Davonar Publisher in Jakarta. The form of the data in this study was in the form of snippets or excerpts of a sentence or a paragraph contained in the novel Surat Kecil Untuk Tuhan by Agnes Davonar related to the moral aspect. The method used in this research was descriptive analysis method to get an overview of the theme, the mandate, character and characterization, setting, plot, moral aspects in a literary work. The results showed that in the novel Surat Kecil Untuk Tuhan by Agnes Davonar containing moral aspects. Moral aspects in question were the value of the struggle, the value of education, religious values and the value of friendship. This novel had a positive impact on learning in high school because there were good moral values to be imparted to students

Abstract

Women's empowerment of fostering family welfare (PKK) activities through training programs, provision of venture capital, expansion of access to social services, and increased independence. The process of empowerment is directed to vulnerable groups have the capability or empowerment of poverty alleviation and education. The aims of research were identifying and analyzing form factors inhibiting women's empowerment in the organization skills of fostering family welfare (PKK) activities in the District of West Tegal; Analyzing Empowerment of women who developed can give higher yields on skills activities of the fostering family welfare (PKK); Analyzing the support of decision-makers, community leaders and cadres of the fostering family welfare (PKK) as well as for the community, as well as facilities in the organization of society on the skills of women empowerment activities of the fostering family welfare (PKK). The research was qualitative research based on post-positivism, and Data was collected through interviews, observation and documentation. The result of the provision of skills such as making food made from fish, crackers, bananas cake improve skills so that people become motivated to improve the lives of their families. The research suggests that it needs high participation from the members of fostering family welfare (PKK) also the motivation of the board to make the members of fostering family welfare (PKK) become more prosperous.

Abstract

T he aims of the research were improving learning motivation and achievement trough E’I Gadis Desa learning model.The research was action research. The research was done trough two cycles. There were three meetings in every cycle. The research involved 36 students of SMP Negeri 2 Balapulang in the academic year 2016/2017. The results of research showed the improvement on motivation and achievement. The percentage of students’ motivation increased from 61.9 % to 76.72 %, and the students’ achievement also increased from 61.11 to 86,11 % during two cycles. The research gives suggestions for teachers to use E’I Gadis Desa learning model to improve students’ motivation and achievement in teaching volley ball materials. In addition the teacher should notice the students’ grouping system, students’ cooperation spirit and management activities in the field while implementing E’I Gadis Desa learning model
