Cakrawala: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan (P-ISSN:1858-4497, E-ISSN: 2549-9300) is a scholarly journal aimed to provide a platform for both established and early-career researchers. This journal accepts research-based papers from the fields of Teaching and Learning; Language and Literacy Education; and Applied Human Development in the Context of Schooling with submissions accepted throughout the year. It is published biannually, May and November, by Universitas Pancasakti Tegal, Indonesia. Papers are all subject to peer review before being accepted for inclusion. Contributions for future editions are welcome. Starting from Vol. 12 No. 1, Cakrawala has been accredited SINTA 3 by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Ristekdikti) of The Republic of Indonesia based on Director Decree No. 23/E/KPT/2019 dated 08 Agustus 2019. The Decree is as an achievement for the Peer-reviewed journal which has excellent quality in management and publication and is effective for 5 years until 2023.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of students' critical thinking skills through the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model with crossword puzzles (TTS). This research is an experimental study with the design of The One Group Pretest-Posttest. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 4 Adiwerna 2018/2019 academic year involving 32 students in water pollution material. The instruments in the study used test and non-test instruments. The research test instruments were tested using validity test, reliability test, level of difficulty and distinguishing power. As well as non-test instruments, the study was tested by expert validators using the LKS validation sheet assessment. Data analysis techniques to test hypotheses are carried out using the "Paired Sample T Test" test. The results show that the TGT cooperative learning model with TTS can improve students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the errors of students in solving mathematical problem solving based on the newman procedure. This type of research is qualitative research. Based on the results of data analysis, the following conclusions are obtained: the location of the error (1) reading the question that is understanding the context of the sentence but cannot write the meaning correctly. (2) understanding the problem includes not writing what is known, writing what is known is not in accordance with the question request, not writing what is asked in the problem. (3) the transformation of the problem that there is a mistake in writing the method and not writing the method to be used. (4) process skills, namely concept errors and not writing down the calculation process. (5) writing the final answer that is not writing the final answer and conclusion in accordance with the context of the problem.

Abstract

The problem of youth is an eternal problem and is always experienced by each generation in relation to older generations. The problem was caused due to the result of the process of maturity, adjusting himself to the new situation arises the hope that every young man will have a better future than his parents. The research objectives (1) describe the idea of revitalizing Pancasila values of the role of the community, (2) describe the understanding of the role of society towards the young generation of the nation and state, (3) describe the idea of revitalizing the Pancasila values of the role of the community towards the nation's young generation and the state. This type of research is a qualitative study using a descriftive approach. The subject of this research is the Young Generation of Tegal City, Tegal Barat Subdistrict in 2019. The data analysis of this study uses Triangulation. The results of this study indicate that the revitalization of the values of Pancasila in the context of the current era, as the young generation has great control in social life in the present and future in order to realize and practice the values of Pancasila. So it is appropriate for the young generation of both men and women to be a wise generation in various aspects of life in accordance with the values of Pancasila both practice in the family, community, and country.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the politeness strategies of UPS Tegal students' language proficiency in communicating with lecturers through WhatsApp media. This type of research is qualitative descriptive. Data used in research this is what UPS Tegal students said to the lecturer when communicating through WhatsApp media. The method of providing data in this study was the method of listening with tapping techniques as a basic technique, followed by a skillful and involved listening and note taking technique. Data analysis method used is the pragmatic matching method. Presentation of data analysis is the informal method. The results showed that there were four politeness strategies used, which were straightforward strategies, indirect strategies, positive politeness strategies, and negative politeness strategies. (1) A straightforward strategy in the form of very short, firm, and straightforward speeches with concise, concise, direct targets. Speech with this strategy is a polite speech. (2) Indirect strategies of declarative speech intended to govern (imperative). (3) Positive politeness strategies in the form of sympathy, involving speakers and interlocutors in one activity, giving reasons, and giving gifts. (4) Negative politeness strategies in the form of speech containing pessimism, humbling, apologizing, and asking questions

Abstract

The social transformation of Tegal society has brought a logical consequence to the society, economically, culturally and politically. Local wisdom provides public protection to survive in the midst of social change. The ability of the Tegal community in dealing with social change is one of the determinants of social wisdom that is there. Some of the things that prove to be the impact of globalization and the advancement of IPTEK in Tegal include; (i) the entry of Hand Phone and (ii) influence in transportation. Efforts to strengthen the nation's identity and maintain the local wisdom of the people of Tegal have had enough awareness and it was built through a small scope such as family, village, village, town. Villagers usually have more and more resistance to the threat of change. The aspect of the change referred to here is the trasisi of the agrarian society towards the industrial community. Certainly it is a consequence, but researchers have identified some social wisdom that characterized the people of Tegal

Abstract

Application of Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on Drama Text Writing SkillsThe purpose of this research is to describe the application of problem based learning learning models in drama writing skills. The problem is that the eighth grade students of SMPN 4 Pandak are still having trouble finding ideas or ideas in writing drama texts. The location of the study was at SMP Negeri 4 Pandak. The study was conducted in class VIII Cpada Semester II of the 2018/2019 Academic Year. The research subjects were students of class VIII C, with 28 students consisting of 13 male students and 15 female students. The data collection technique was carried out through observations on the skills of writing text and the practice of playing drama. The results of the study showed that there was an improvement in the learning outcomes and skills of students in class VIII C Drama Text Writing material. Before using the PBL model students who achieved mastery learning outcomes were 15 students or 53.6%, while 13 students or 46.4% were not yet finished. After using the PBL learning model there was an increase in student learning outcomes ie all students (28 students) completed their learning outcomes or 100%. Thus there was an increase in completeness by 46.4%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the “Jelajah Alam Sekitar”/ Approach of Natural Around (JAS) Based on the Problem Base Learning Model (PBL) Through Observation of Pollution Indicators Towards Learners' Environmental Care Attitudes. The data analysis of this study was divided into two, namely the initial data analysis in the form of a validity test using product moment correlation, reliability test and final data analysis in the form of a final data test covering descriptive analysis, normality test, homogeneity test, t test (paired sample t test) , descriptive attitude care about the environment. The results showed that the learning of science based on the JAS approach with the PBL method on environmental attitudes of students on the theme of pollution is influential because by using the t test (paired sample t test) the sig (2-tailed) value of 0,000 <0.05 was obtained. Learning by using a Natural Approach to explore around the PBL Model based can be applied in the eyes of natural science students, especially in environmental pollution material because according to this research Approach to the Natural Approach Around the PBL model based can improve students' environmental care attitudes

Abstract

This research aims: 1) Explain the factors that encourage people to participate in conservation of historical heritage. 2) Identify the character values that form the basis of community participation in conservation. 3) Identify forms of historical heritage conservation activities. 4) How to carry out conservation. The techniques of data collection are literature, observation, FGD, and depth interviewing. The basis of analysis used of qualitative descriptive. The results of this research as follows: 1) The factors that encourage community participation in conservation: (a) cultural factors as ancestral heritage, historical heritage must be secured, cared for and preserved; (b) Social psychology: safeguarding and caring for historical heritage, their life will be safe and the environment will bring prosperity to peoples. 2) Character values that form the basis community participation in conservation are responsibility, sincerity, humanity, and care for the environment. 3) The forms of conservation activities show as to take care of and finding historical heritage, checking historical heritage, preserving, caring for the environment and historical sites so that clean, keeping the path to the location of historical sites so that clean and accessible to visitors.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the types of errors in solving Social Arithmetic problems using Newman error analysis, for profit and loss learning material for 7C grade students at SMPN 4 Pandak, Bantul. Research subjects were 27 students, data collection techniques using written tests and clinical interviews. The written test consists of 3 questions about Social Arithmetic about profit and loss. The test results show that in question number 1 there were 6 students wrong, question number 2 there were 26 students wrong and in question number 3 all students' answers were wrong. Then the results of the work of 3 students who had the most errors were chosen at the completion of the three test questions for further analysis. Analysis of the results of errors was carried out based on the type of error Newman and identified that in problem number 1 there were 6 students making mistakes type 2, 3, 4, and 5; in question number 2 there were 26 students who mostly made mistakes of types 2 and 3; in question number 3 there are no correct student answers, all students make mistakes on types 2 and 3 and most of them on type 4 errors.
