Abstract

The value of banking companies in Indonesia has fluctuated despite consistent efforts to implement corporate governance principles. Furthermore, increasing pressure for transparency and accountability through disclosure in sustainability reports has become a key focus in assessing the impact of corporate governance practices on company value. This study aims to analyze the influence of corporate governance components on disclosure in sustainability reports and the value of banking companies. Furthermore, this study also analyzes the influence of corporate governance components on the value of banking companies, with disclosure in sustainability reports acting as a mediating variable. This study uses an associative quantitative approach, targeting banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2019–2023 period. The variables studied include institutional ownership, board of commissioners, audit committee, company size, sustainability report disclosure, and company value. Sampling was conducted using a purposive sampling technique, with a total of 95 observations. Data were collected through documentation and analyzed using path analysis to identify direct and indirect relationships between variables. The results of the study indicate that the audit committee has a positive and significant effect on sustainability report disclosure, while the board of commissioners, institutional ownership, and company size do not show a significant effect on the disclosure. Furthermore, institutional ownership and sustainability report disclosure variables have a positive and significant effect on firm value, while the board of commissioners, audit committee, and company size do not have a significant effect. The Sobel test results indicate that disclosure in the sustainability report does not significantly mediate the relationship between institutional ownership, the board of commissioners, and the audit committee on firm value. This finding indicates that the influence of corporate governance components on firm value is largely direct and is not effectively mediated by sustainability disclosure.

Abstract

Fiber consumption in Indonesia remains critically low, averaging only 10.5 grams per day, far below the recommended 25 grams daily intake. This study aimed to analyze the dietary fiber content and consumer preference of cookies substituted with purple sweet potato flour and sorghum flour to develop functional foods that could address this nutritional deficiency. An experimental design was employed utilizing four formulations: F0 (control) and F1–F3 (varying substitution ratios of purple sweet potato and sorghum flours). Twenty-five trained panelists conducted hedonic evaluation to assess sensory acceptability across color, taste, texture, and aroma parameters. Laboratory analysis determined the fiber content of each formulation. Fiber content increased progressively with higher substitution levels, with F3 containing the highest fiber concentration at 8.4%. Hedonic testing revealed no significant differences in color, taste, or texture preferences (p>0.05); however, aroma showed significant differences (p<0.05), with F0 being most preferred. Overall acceptability analysis identified F2 (containing 7% fiber, equivalent to 0.77g per piece) as the most accepted formulation, successfully balancing sensory appeal with nutritional enhancement. The findings demonstrate that purple sweet potato and sorghum flours can effectively increase dietary fiber in cookies without substantially compromising consumer acceptability, supporting their potential use in functional food development to address Indonesia's fiber deficiency crisis.

Abstract

Introduction: Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the airways characterized by airway hyperresponsiveness to various stimuli, leading to recurrent symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing, especially at night or in the early morning. Case Report: This paper presents an analysis of a 55 year old man who arrived with worsening shortness of breath that had begun five hours before admission. The patient reported being unable to take deep breaths, described a heavy feeling in the chest, and produced audible wheezing. The dyspnea was accompanied by a productive cough with yellowish sputum that became more severe at night. He could not speak fluently-only in short phrases-felt more comfortable sitting upright, and appeared anxious. Spirometry showed an FVC of 48 % predicted and an FEV? of 41 % predicted. Conclusion: Asthma is a chronic inflammatory airway disease with bronchial hyperresponsiveness, causing episodic, variable, and reversible symptoms (wheezing, dyspnea, cough, chest tightness). Diagnosis is primarily established by spirometry. Stepwise therapy (Steps 1–5) is tailored to severity and control to achieve optimal daily symptom control and prevent exacerbations while using the lowest effective dose.

Abstract

Introduction: Smoking is a global health threat, with 22.3% of the world's population using tobacco in 2020, dominated by 36.7% men and a small proportion 7.8% women. More than 80% of global smokers are in low-middle-income countries, including Indonesia in 2007 which in 2007 ranked as the 5th most smoker in the world. Objective: to describe people's smoking patterns by gender, as well as describe demographic characteristics, smoking risk factors, and types of cigarettes in Indonesia using DHS 2017 data. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional quantitative research design with secondary data from DHS 2017. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 23. The Chi-Square test was used to identify differences in the proportion of independent variables by gender, with a significance level of ?=0.05. Results: there was a significant difference between males and females in the demographic distribution (p < 0.001). While the majority of both sexes were non-smokers, there were significant differences in smoking status (p < 0.001) and smoking frequency (p < 0.001), with a higher proportion of female smokers (3.7%) than men (2.2%). The prevalence of cigarette use (p < 0.001) and inhaled through nose (p = 0.010) showed a significant association with sex, although the absolute prevalence was low. Conclusion: there is a relationship between sex and demographic characteristics, smoking risk factors, and types of cigarettes. So that the prevention and control of smoking in Indonesia can consider demographic and gender profiles, focus on conventional cigarettes, and pay attention to differences in tobacco use tendencies

Abstract

Construction project delays frequently occur due to discrepancies between planned and actual implementation schedules under field conditions, where time and cost factors represent two primary obstacles that must be optimally managed. This study aims to develop a construction project scheduling optimization model based on Genetic Algorithms using Python programming to provide effective, efficient, and measurable solutions that achieve a balance between implementation time and project costs. The research method involves developing a construction project scheduling optimization model that considers the time-cost trade-off using a Python-based genetic algorithm, with a case study of the Sei Baru 1 Water Bridge Replacement Project in Belitung Regency. Data were obtained from PT. Billiton Hero Sukses Cemerlang in the form of wage and material prices, AHSP (Unit Price Analysis), RAB (Budget Cost Plan), as well as information on[A1] duration and acceleration costs through interviews. The research results demonstrate that the implementation of the NetworkX-CPM and Genetic Algorithm hybrid effectively optimizes construction project scheduling, achieving a cost reduction of 3.49% and duration reduction of 34.82% compared to normal conditions. The optimal GA parameters for this case were: population 50, generation 100, tournament 5, crossover 0.7, and mutation 0.2. The resource leveling process successfully balanced the distribution of daily labor requirements. All optimization results were validated through manual CPM calculations, remained free from constraint violations, and were supported by data visualization and automation integrated with Excel and Microsoft Project.

Abstract

Top management support is crucial to the success of an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) program. However, the mediating role of rewards in this relationship requires further investigation. While previous studies have established the importance of top management support and OHS programs, the specific role of rewards in mediating these relationships with employee performance remains underexplored. This study aimed to analyze the role of rewards in influencing the relationship between top management support and OHS programs on employee performance at PT. Argo Manunggal Triasta in Tangerang. A quantitative approach was employed with 102 employees of PT. Argo Manunggal Triasta selected through random sampling techniques. Data were collected using a questionnaire with a 5-point Likert scale and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Smart PLS 4. The findings indicate that reward provision (variable Z) significantly mediates the influence of top management support (variable X1) on employee performance (variable Y) with a t-statistic of 2.642 > 1.96 and a p-value of 0.008 < 0.05. The OHS program (variable X2) also significantly influences employee performance with a t-statistic of 2.728 > 1.96 and a p-value of 0.006 < 0.05. Companies should maximize top management support by implementing comprehensive reward policies, including bonuses, wage increases, and recognition awards, to motivate employees and enhance OHS program implementation effectiveness.

Abstract

Difficult airway remains one of the major challenges in anesthesiology practice due to its direct impact on perioperative morbidity and mortality. It is defined as a clinical situation in which there is difficulty with face mask ventilation, tracheal intubation, or both, even when experienced personnel and appropriate equipment are available. A 53-year-old female underwent an elective total thyroidectomy for a large goiter causing significant tracheal deviation to the left and restricted neck mobility. A neck CT scan revealed a markedly enlarged right thyroid lobe with tracheal deviation to the left. This condition has the potential to cause obstruction and difficult to ventilate during relaxation. Based on the LEMON criteria, the patient indicating a high risk for difficult to Intubations. The score was suggesting a low risk for mask ventilation difficulty. Airway management was performed using an awake intubation approach with video laryngoscopy assistance, offer a safe and effective strategy in many healthcare setting. The management of a difficult airway in patients with severe tracheal deviation due to toxic nodular goiter requires a structured anesthetic approach. Awake intubation with video laryngoscope guidance proved to be a safe and effective strategy in cases with severe anatomical distortion, particularly when spontaneous ventilation must be preserved.

Abstract

The challenge of preserving traditional clothing such as jarik, kebaya, sarong, batik, songket, and weaving is increasingly marginalized by modernity and globalization. The main goal of this paper is to design and realize traditional fashion works based on virtual technology that are adaptive and contextual without losing their philosophical meaning and cultural value. The aesthetic approach of the archipelago in this study uses the concept of Sanggit work—a creative principle in traditional art that emphasizes the revitalization and adaptation of cultural values—as a strategy for revitalizing traditional clothing. This research also employs the Design Thinking method in five stages (Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test), strengthened by the Sanggit aesthetic approach, which emphasizes cultural revitalization in a contemporary form. The beauty of traditional fashion forms full of religious values is summed up as a concept of beauty that not only preserves visual heritage but also transforms it into ethical values and cultural identity. Five samples of traditional clothing from various regions—Central Java, Minangkabau, Maluku, Osing Banyuwangi, and Dayak Ngaju—formed the basis for the creation of the work. The results of the research, which went through the Sanggit process, produced traditional clothing originally used for ceremonial purposes, revitalized as work clothes and party clothes without eliminating the nuances and symbols of the archipelago's culture.
