Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop a management information system for the achievement of Main Performance Indicators (MPI) for universities in Indonesia, especially the achievement of indicators for Students Gaining Experience Outside the University Campus and to be able to monitor the performance achievements of each study program in accordance with performance targets, especially at Universitas Negeri Manado (Unima). The development of this management information system uses the Extreme Programming Method which consists of Planning, Design, Coding and Testing. The result of this research is the Unima MPI Achievement Management Information System, which can be used by universities to input and report the performance achievements of each study program. From the research results, this Management Information System helps in: 1) planning the achievement of MPI by providing the data and information needed to formulate appropriate goals, strategies and action plans 2) in organizing the process of achieving MPI by managing the flow of information, tasks and responsibilities responsibilities between main actors such as students, admin, study program and rector; 3) facilitate the implementation of the achievement of main performance indicators by providing appropriate access to each actor to enter, verify and view data on the achievement of main performance indicators and 4) Management information systems play an important role in controlling the achievement of MPI by providing appropriate access control and regulation and provide the information necessary to evaluate the successful implementation of educational policies and programs. With the Management Information System for Achieving Main Performance Indicators, educational institutions can plan, organize, implement and control the achievement of main performance indicators effectively and efficiently in accordance with the performance targets that have been set by the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology.

Abstract

This research was conducted to analyze the test instruments used to measure students' abilities in science and science subjects in Class V of SD Negeri 38 Manado. The students consisted of 40 students. The questions given were in the form of 5-point description questions related to the material of light and its properties. The Rasch model is used to obtain fit test items. This analysis was carried out with the help of Winsteps software. From the output of the Winsteps program, the results obtained were 4 questions according to the Rasch model with an average Outfit MNSQ value for each person and an item of 0.99 each. Meanwhile, the Outfit ZSTD values for people and items are -0.10 and -0.29 respectively. Meanwhile, the reliability of the instrument expressed in Cronbach's alpha is 0.18.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze students' numeracy abilities in elementary schools. The research used is quantitative research with experimental methods. The subjects in this research were class VI students at SDN 2 Kotamobagu involving PPG Daljab UNIMA Category 1 Batch 2 students as actors in the learning process and researchers acting as observers in the research. Data collection techniques use learning outcomes evaluation tests and observations regarding students' skills and attitudes during the learning process. The instruments used are evaluation test questions consisting of 5 questions and a skills observation sheet consisting of 3 assessment aspects, namely measurement, modeling, and presentation. As well as observing students' attitudes which consist of 3 aspects, namely activeness, cooperation, and creativity. Data analysis in this research uses the Rasch Model. The research results show that numeracy ability is an ability that needs to be continuously improved and is not enough if only applied once or twice. Numeracy skills require continuous habituation and appropriate instruments or measuring tools to stimulate increased numeracy skills.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the 4C (Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, and Communication) abilities of children aged 5-6 years by using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model. This research uses a type of classroom action research using the Kemmis and Mc Taggart model through 4 stages, namely: 1) planning, 2) Action, 3) Observation, and 4) Reflection. The subjects in this research were children aged 5-6 years at GMIM Sion Tomohon Kindergarten with a total of 23 children. The data collection technique uses observation and non-test techniques which are used to measure the creativity of children aged 5-6 years, namely batik work using natural papaya leaves using the ecoprint technique. Data collection instruments use observation assessments (attitude assessments), work skills assessments work results assessment instruments, as well as questionnaires for assessing children's developmental achievements. The data analysis used in this research is quantitative and qualitative, namely simple descriptive statistics, the data reduction process, data presentation, and conclusion are carried out in the qualitative analysis process. The research results show that there is an increase in the 4C (Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, and Communication) abilities of children aged 5-6 years through the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model. This is proven by the activities of teachers and children who support the 4C indicators.

Abstract

Research has been carried out to find the level of student ability and the level of difficulty of essay questions on fractions, through polytomous data analysis by applying the Rasch model. The research was conducted in the In-Service Professional Teacher Education program, specifically in the Elementary School Teacher Education. The research was conducted at Belang 1 State Elementary School, Southeast Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi, Indonesia, in grade 6 with a total of 27 students. Experimental research method with one group pretest-posttest design. The experimental treatment is a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) learning model. The test instrument is in the form of an essay with material on adding fractions with different denominators. The instrument was content validated through a video conference forum attended by experts, tutors, and subject teachers. Data was collected through formative pre-tests and post-tests. Scores are processed as polytomy data. Data analysis used the Rasch model with the Ministep 4.3.2 software application. The results of the analysis, as a class group, the pre-test average was 7.0 and the post-test was 77.0. This group's data shows that the use of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in mathematics learning is very effective. Another conclusion is that the Rasch Model can accurately analyze polytomous data and find 1 student who has a high ability exceeding the highest level of test item difficulty in completing the essay test on adding fractions with different denominators. Then the Rasch Model can analyze the level of difficulty of the 5 items of the essay test instrument, it was found that 2 test items had a low level of difficulty. Using the Rasch model, it is consistently detected that adding fractions with different denominators containing the number 7 is categorized as having a high level of difficulty.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the effects of incorporating the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach on the acquisition of biology knowledge among PPG students at Manado State University. The research subject comprised 31 students, comprising 14 males and 17 females. This is an instance of educational research referred to as classroom action research, which especially adheres to the approach defined by Kemmis and Taggart. The research was carried out in two distinct phases: the initial phase encompassed planning, execution, action, and observation, while the subsequent phase centered on reflection. Data for the research was gathered by conducting assessments that included both multiple-choice and essay questions. Professionals evaluate Psychomotor learning outcomes through direct observation utilizing a psychomotor assessment form. The cognitive outcomes of cycle I were 51.61% and the cognitive outcomes of cycle II were 80.64%. The psychomotor learning outcomes related to tool and material preparation showed a 19.35% rise, whereas the outcomes for tool and material assembly demonstrated a 25.80% increase. The experimental component experienced a 22.58% increase, the observational component saw a 29.03% increase, and the delivery part of the trial witnessed a significant 41.93% increase. Research indicates that implementing Problem-Based Learning (PBL) can enhance students' academic achievement.

Abstract

This research aims to identify factors that have the potential to influence the learning outcomes and nutritional knowledge of students majoring in PKK Culinary Arts at Manado State University. Students in this major are expected to have a deep understanding of culinary and nutrition, so their learning outcomes are crucial in determining the quality of graduates. Through an approach, this research method uses a quantitative approach with survey techniques using a structured questionnaire. The research sample will be randomly selected from active semester students in the PKK Culinary Management Department, Manado State University. The data obtained will be analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. Factors considered include educational background, motivation, study habits, access to learning resources and nutritional information, and other environmental factors. The factors that will be studied include internal variables, such as learning motivation, lecture attendance, and independent study time, and external variables, such as family support, learning facilities, and social environment. Apart from that, this research will also measure students' level of nutritional knowledge and relate it to their learning outcomes. This research has the potential to provide an in-depth understanding of the relationship between various factors and learning outcomes and nutritional knowledge of students majoring in PKK Culinary Arts. It is hoped that the research findings can provide valuable input for curriculum development, learning strategies, and the provision of more effective educational resources in the Manado State University PKK Culinary Educational environment. Thus, it is hoped that this research can contribute to improving the quality of education and understanding of nutrition among PKK Culinary Arts students and society in general.

Abstract

This research aims to measure students' performance from the Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG) in Category 1 Batch 2 Computer and Informatics Engineering at Manado State University in 2023 using the Rasch Model. The Rasch Model was chosen as a measurement method because it can provide a more accurate picture of individual student abilities, as well as identify the level of difficulty and differentiating power of each evaluation item. The research method involves collecting student performance data through various evaluation instruments, such as written exams, projects, and practical assignments. The collected data is then analyzed using the Rasch Model to evaluate the quality of the measurements and understand the extent to which the evaluation instrument can describe students' true abilities. The research results are expected to provide in-depth insight into the abilities of PPG students in Category 1 Batch 2 Computer Engineering and Informatics, as well as provide recommendations for improvements to the evaluation instruments used. Applying the Rasch Model in measuring student performance is expected to increase objectivity and accuracy in assessing students' abilities, which in turn can support improving the quality of education at Manado State University.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze: (1) the relationship between learning commitment and learning outcomes of Building Engineering Education students, Faculty of Engineering, Manado State University (PTB FT Unima), (2) the relationship between learning interest and learning outcomes of PTB FT Unima students, and (3) the relationship between commitment to learning, and interest in learning simultaneously with the learning outcomes of PTB FT Unima students. This research design is quantitative research with a survey approach. From the research results: 1) there is a relationship between learning commitment and learning outcomes of PTB FT Unima students, and contributes 23.62%; 2) there is a relationship between interest in learning and learning outcomes of PTB FT Unima students, and provides a contribution of 10.24%; 3) there is a relationship between commitment to learning and interest in learning simultaneously with the learning outcomes of PTB FT Unima students, and provides a contribution of 23.72%. Thus, increasing commitment to learning and interest in learning is one of the factors supporting the learning outcomes of PTB FT Unima students. The results imply that the higher the commitment to learning and interest in learning, the higher the learning outcomes of PTB FT Unima students. This fact proves that commitment to learning and interest in learning simultaneously provide a significant relationship with the learning outcomes of PTB FT Unima students.

Abstract

This research aims to develop problem-based learning tools that empower students' thinking abilities in the In-service Teacher Professional Education Program at Unima. The learning tools developed consist of modules and LKPD for the Biology Learning Tool Development course. The development model used is the ADDIE development model consisting of four stages, namely 1) analysis, 2) design, 3) development, 4) implementation, and 5) evaluation. The results of the research are the feasibility of the learning tools which are seen based on the aspects of validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the learning tools. Next, to see the effectiveness of problem-based learning tools on thinking ability using One Group Pretest-Posttest Design which was implemented on 29 PPG Daljab Category 1 students, class 3 of 2023. The results of the research show that the learning tools are very valid with an assessment score interval between 3.5-4 and reliability between 95%-98%. The learning implementation is categorized as very good with an assessment score interval between 3.6-4 with an average reliability of 97%, the average readability level of the device based on the Gunning Fox index is 11 with medium criteria, the readability percentage of the learning device based on the readability sheet of the learning device is 97% and students provide a positive response to learning tools was 98%. The increase in students' cognitive learning outcomes can be seen from the average N-gain value for all students, namely 0.68 with medium criteria, classical completeness of 100%, and indicator completeness with an interval of 2.5-3.5. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that problem-based learning tools in the biology teaching tool development course are suitable for use to improve the thinking skills of students in the PPG Daljab Program at Unima.
