Abstract

The aim of this research is to generate biology laboratory work module which utilize natural products as learning resource for students in senior high school. This module developed using Borg and Gall model which has been adapted with the needs and aims of this research, therefore, it gained four major stages that will be passed. These stages namely: needs analysys and literature study, matter development (based on needs), expert validation and field test (experimental class). On expert validation limited to matter expert validator whilst for field test, it was decided on students from XII science class as experimental class. The result of this research shown that laboratory module that utilized natural products can be used as learning resource for students in senior high school.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine teacher awareness in mitigating learning loss in science practice learning in elementary schools. The research method used was qualitative research with case studies. Data collection techniques used include interviews, observation, and documentation. The research was conducted in elementary schools in Ambon City, consisting of three public and three private schools, with the respondents being high school teachers. In this study, the validity of the triangulation data was used. The results showed that teachers' awareness of mitigating learning loss in science practice in elementary schools was good. However, both public and private schools experienced learning loss in science practice. For this reason, each teacher gives their best effort to mitigate learning loss events by taking actions such as home visits, communicating with parents, utilizing existing media in the environment around students for science practice, and approaching students to mitigate learning loss events in students' science practice in elementary school

Abstract

Tail characteristics of the White-Tailed Jungle Rat (Maxomys sp.) of North Sulawesi have been examined by us to reveal the population diversity. Usually, examining population diversity or species uses numerous morphological features as markers for variation. However, in this study, we are only using one morphological feature, which is the characteristic of the tail from the samples. Several experts have used tail characteristics as the sole identifier for species identifications. On another account, diversity studies using various white-tailed jungle rats are also being performed, and the result of the said study can be compared with the result of the study in which only a single feature is the tail characteristics of the white-tailed jungle rat. The characteristics of white-tailed jungle rats that were examined include total length, the total length of the white section and the present/lack of fine hairs on the tip. The number of samples is 35. The samples are obtained from the jungles of North Sulawesi, which are The District of Minahasa, North Minahasa, South Minahasa, and Southeast Minahasa. The results of morphological observation of the white-tailed jungle rat were analyzed using mutual cluster analysis, statistics program, SPSS IBM, 26. The analysis results from a dendrogram showed two main clusters: the first with the numbers 9, 19 and 12 and the second with the remaining sample numbers. On the second cluster, there are two more formed sub-cluster. The results of this study are nearly identical to the study results that use various morphological diversities. This study recommends that the tail characteristics of a white-tailed rat can represent the diversity of white-tailed rats.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to assess the enhancement in student learning outcomes subsequent to the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning instructional approach in the eleventh grade of SMA Negeri 2 Tondano, located in the Sangihe Islands district, during the academic year 2022/2023. The present study is an instance of classroom action research (PTK) employing an action cycle that encompasses action preparation, implementation, observation, and reflection. The participants of this study consisted of 18 students from class XI MIPA3 at SMA N 2 Tondano. The data gathering methods encompass the assessment of student learning outcomes through the utilisation of test result data conducted at the conclusion of each instructional cycle. The data analysis was conducted using a quantitative descriptive approach. The findings of the study indicated that the implementation of questionnaires in cycle I resulted in a significant improvement in students' learning outcomes. The sample size for this phase of the research consisted of 18 participants. The completion rate of students' learning outcomes exhibited an upward trend, rising from 79.94% in cycle I to 86.27% in cycle II. The observed rise in student learning scores over each cycle suggests that the utilisation of the Problem-Based Learning model has the potential to enhance the learning outcomes of students in class XI MIPA3 SMA N 2 Tondano.

Abstract

The purpose of the research was to develop interactive digital comics about simple machines and to investigate the effect for using interactive digital comics in student thinking skills at grade VIII. The hypothesis of this research was that using interactive digital comics in simple machines gave a significant effect to student thinking skills. This type of research was development research, which refers to the Four-D (Define, design, develop, disseminate). The result shows simple machine digital interactive comic is categorized as valid and feasible because of the percentage of expert media judgment is 98.91% and the percentage of expert material judgment is 98.21%. In practicality test, this is indicated by the good response from students with a percentage of 82.44% in the limited trial class and 77.81% in the extended trial class. The Effectiveness, indicated by statistics analyzing the pretest and posttest of control and experimental groups. The test analysis with Wilcoxon test. The Wilcoxon test shows Asymp. Sig (2 tailed) < 0.001 which is less than 0.005 that means the hypothesis is accepted and proven.

Abstract

The primary characteristics of 21st-century learning emphasize the importance of digital literacy in preparing individuals to manage information, collaborate, and adapt to rapid changes in the digital society. A project-based digital literacy learning model is crucial as it equips students with necessary skills to navigate effectively in an increasingly interconnected digital world through authentic projects integrating digital technology, enabling them to learn, innovate, collaborate, and communicate effectively in a continually evolving global context. This development study aims to produce a valid, practical, and effective "SCIENCE" Digital Literacy Learning Model based on project approaches. The research method employed is the 4D R&D model (Define, Design, Development, Dissemination). This study was conducted at SMP Advent 5 Kairagi Weru, Grade VIII, Second Semester of the Academic Year 2023/2024. Research instruments used include interviews, observations, questionnaire surveys, and achievement tests. Data analysis techniques utilized descriptive statistics. Based on the research findings, the validity test results of the project-based "SCIENCE" digital literacy learning model were categorized as valid with a percentage of 88.89%. Practicality assessment based on teacher questionnaire responses indicated a very practical category with a percentage of 91.67%, while student questionnaire analysis also indicated a very practical category with a percentage of 94.46%. The effectiveness test results were categorized as highly effective with a percentage of 88%. In conclusion, it can be inferred that the "SCIENCE" Digital Literacy Learning Model meets the criteria of being valid, practical, and effective.

Abstract

The Think Pair Share cooperative learning technique is highly effective in fostering diverse discussion patterns. The purpose of Think Pair Share learning is to shape student interaction habits. The Think Pair Share instructional approach provides students with extended opportunities for reflection, articulation, and collaborative assistance. The objective of this study is to enhance the academic performance of students in class X viral material at SMA Negeri 2 Tondano by applying the Think Pair Share instructional approach. The research methodology employed is known as Classroom Action Research (PTK), which is conducted in two cycles, with each cycle comprising four distinct stages: preparation, implementation/action, observation, and reflection. The research findings indicate that the implementation of the Think Pair Share (TPS) instructional approach has resulted in a significant enhancement of student learning outcomes in class 86.66% during cycle II. This indicates that the research findings have met the success criterion, specifically, that at least 75% of students have successfully finished.
