Abstract

This research looks at how the community in Kampung Glintung Go Green, Malang City, has been empowered and how well the community-based environmental conservation efforts have been managed. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach, gathering information through observations, interviews, and documentation. The findings show that community empowerment in Kampung Glintung Go Green includes organizing structures, providing training and education, encouraging active participation, supporting cooperatives and the local economy, spreading awareness through socialization and campaigns, and setting up systems for monitoring and evaluation, along with building partnerships. The environmental management involves using technology and new ideas, promoting urban farming, educating and involving the community, and working together for economic empowerment, all supported by strong partnerships. While the program has improved environmental quality and community awareness, it is suggested to boost educational efforts, strengthen partnerships, make better use of technology, conduct regular evaluations, and enhance promotion and socialization. This research helps to better understand how Community-Based Tourism (CBT) concepts, environmental conservation strategies, waste management, and partnership models can be applied and could serve as a guide for similar programs in other areas

In response, cultural promotion has emerged as a strategic tool in publicdiplomacy to aid economic recovery and attract foreign visitors, particularly from Russia. This study evaluates theeffectiveness of Indonesia’s cultural promotion efforts in Russia in revitalizing the tourism sector post-pandemic. Aqualitative case study approach was employed, utilizing document analysis and secondary sources from theMinistry of Tourism and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The findings reveal that Indonesia’s cultural promotioninitiatives—such as festivals, exhibitions, and digital media campaigns—have successfully generated interestamong Russian tourists. These programs have enhanced Indonesia’s visibility and cultural appeal, contributing to agradual increase in Russian tourist arrivals. However, challenges remain, including budget limitations, shiftinggeopolitical dynamics, and competition from other destinations. Despite these obstacles, public diplomacy plays avital role in shaping Indonesia’s international image, fostering bilateral relations, and supporting economic growththrough tourism. To further enhance the impact of cultural promotion, this study recommends strengtheninginstitutional collaboration between tourism and diplomatic agencies, optimizing digital-based promotionalstrategies, and diversifying cultural diplomacy initiatives to reach a broader audience. With the right policies andstrategic implementation, cultural promotion can serve as a key catalyst for the recovery of Indonesia’s tourismsector, ensuring long-term sustainability and economic resilience in the post-pandemic era.

Abstract

Tourism plays an important role in regional economic development, and beach tourism is one of the main attractions in Lampung. This study aims to analyze the attractiveness of beach tourism in Lampung and its influence on tourists' interest. Various factors such as natural beauty, accessibility, facilities, environmental sustainability, and promotional efforts are examined to determine their impact on tourists' interest in visiting. This study uses a Likert scale by distributing questionnaires through a purposive sampling method to 200 respondents, with Smart PLS 3.0 as the analytical tool. The results indicate that natural beauty, well-maintained infrastructure, and effective marketing strategies significantly influence tourists' interest. However, several challenges such as waste management, security issues, and limited public transportation remain obstacles in the development of beach tourism in this region. Findings from this study suggest that improving beach management, strengthening promotional strategies, and implementing sustainable tourism practices can further enhance tourists' interest in Lampung's beach destinations. This research provides valuable insights for local governments, tourism stakeholders, and business operators in developing more competitive and attractive beach tourism.

Abstract

Sustainable tourism is a crucial aspect in maintaining the attractiveness of tourist destinations while minimizing environmental and economic impacts. This study aims to analyze the influence of tourist satisfaction, environmental impact, and destination attractiveness on the sustainability of tourism at Lampung Marriott Resort & Spa. This research employs a quantitative approach using a simple random sampling method, involving 100 tourists visiting the destination. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using regression tests with SPSS version 23 to examine the relationships between the research variables. The findings reveal that tourist satisfaction, environmental impact, and destination attractiveness have a significant positive effect on tourism sustainability. High tourist satisfaction indicates that the services and facilities provided meet visitors’ expectations. Effective environmental management contributes to maintaining long-term destination appeal, while destination attractiveness, including natural beauty and cultural diversity, plays a key role in attracting more visitors. This study concludes that achieving tourism sustainability requires continuous improvement in service quality, sustainable environmental management strategies, and innovation in destination development. Therefore, tourism managers should enhance visitor experiences and implement sustainability principles to maintain long-term competitiveness.
