Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out and understand to teaching staff that today's education is not relevant to educational goals, so Paulo Freire wants to reconstruct this education. This research is qualitative, using library research data collection methods. Data source: Because this article is a study of the work of a figure, the data used is more library data, so the author collects literature, including books and articles related to the figure to be discussed. In analyzing data, researchers try to find meaning by trying to reveal the implied and explicit meanings. The result of this article is the reconstruction of education carried out by Paulo Freire because education is currently shifting towards the bank system. Today's teaching system is known as a passive learning model, namely, the teacher explains, the students listen, the teacher dictates, the students take notes, the teacher asks, the students answer, and so on. Therefore, Paulo Freire wanted education must provide liberation, learning must be carried out using methods of dialogue, facing problems, raising awareness, and liberating education.

Abstract

This study evaluated how South East Nigerian students' interest in economics correlated with the teaching methods of economics teachers. Descriptive statistics of the correlational type were used in the research methodology; the sample size for the study was chosen using purposive and proportionate sampling techniques; the mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions; Pearson product-moment correlation and the one-way ANOVA F-test were used to test the hypotheses. The study's conclusions demonstrated a strong correlation between students' academic interest in economics and the methods used by economics teachers to teach the subject. The study made several recommendations. Based on its findings, educational administrators should designate professionally educated economists with a foundation in economic pedagogies to teach economics; delivering teaching effectively will result from this. Teachers of economics should make an effort to motivate students to study and to introduce the subject using any suitable teaching strategies. In addition, educating and retraining economics instructors inefficient teaching methods for the classroom.

Abstract

The primary goal of the research is to determine the student's accuracy and fluency in speaking by using the calling method. The researcher gathered the data using a pre-experimental design. There were 54 students in the second grade at High School Muhammadiyah Ternate who made up the research population. We used 25 students as the research sample. The oral examination method was used by the researcher to gather data. The research's data analysis showed that after using the Callan Method to teach the students, their speaking abilities significantly improved. It was demonstrated by the outcome of the statistical analysis of the data analysis, which showed that the t-test value was 3.65 and the t-table value was 2.063, with 3.65 > 2.063, at the level of significance 0.05 with degree of freedom (Df = 24). The first-graders at high school Muhammadiyah Ternate have good speaking skills.

Abstract

This research objective is to describe the dominant factors that cause students with special needs (deaf) to solve mathematics problems. This research is qualitative descriptive research with a case study approach. The research was carried out at SLB Negeri Lutang Kab. Majene. The subjects of this research were seven people, consisting of three deaf students, three parents, and one teacher. The instruments used in this research consisted of observation sheets and interview guidelines. The data analysis techniques used consist of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Based on the results of the data analysis, it was concluded that the factors that influence deaf students to solve mathematics problems consist of two factors, namely internal factors, and external factors. Internal factors consist of learning interest, learning habits, and student learning motivation. Meanwhile, external factors consist of the influence of the family environment and the school environment.

Abstract

Overall, this study aims to assess college students' field-dependent metacognitive skills in mathematics problem-solving. We administered the Group Embedded Figures and Mathematical Ability Tests to 35 future educators from a private school in Sukoharjo, Indonesia. Students' questioning of each group served to gauge their proficiency in solving problems, as shown in the results. Participants also demonstrated partially achieved metacognitive abilities, as measured by the (metacognitive) skills criterion, which encompassed tasks such as planning, monitoring, assessing, and predicting. First, the participants documented and explained the facts given in the question. Second, they checked the results against the plan. Third, they evaluated the success of the objectives by analyzing the results to make sure everything went according to plan. Finally, they predicted and stated the results of the problem-solving process. In light of these findings, researchers and teachers facing comparable obstacles would do well to delve deeper into the function of metacognitive abilities in problem-solving.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Google Earth on the learning motivation of elementary school students in Jakarta using the RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, and Create) model. The sample consists of 40 fifth-grade students from a Jakarta elementary school. This is qualitative and quantitative research. The study's average results indicate that using Google Earth motivates 45.5% of students to learn. Before and after using Google Earth, based on the presentation, there was an increase of 23% in the learning motivation of Jakarta elementary school students. Before using Google Earth, student learning motivation was at 34%. Meanwhile, after using Google Earth, students' learning motivation increased by 57%. This study uses the RADEC model (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, and Create) in teaching and learning activities. Then, we discovered that Google Earth had an influence on indicators of students' learning motivation, such as their desire to learn, their needs, their ability to reach goals, their encouragement, and the creation of a pleasant learning atmosphere. Earth. The RADEC model with Google Earth technology further increases elementary school students' learning motivation compared to the RADEC model without Google Earth technology.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of leg press training and squat training on the ability of degen weapon attacks in South Sulawesi athletes' fencing. The study employed a quasi-experimental research method, utilizing a two-group pre- and post-test design on a sample of 20 individuals. The matched ordinal pairing technique ranked the attack ability based on the pre-test results, resulting in the formation of two treatment groups. Each group consisted of 10 people using leg press exercises, and one group used squat exercises. We carried out the treatment for 16 meetings, training three times a week, performing 3–4 sets and 10–14 repetitions, and loading each sample according to their individual abilities. Based on the results of the data analysis, it was found that leg press training had a significant effect of -3,959 > α. 0.05 on the attack ability of degen weapons in South Sulawesi athletes' fencing. Squat training has a significant effect of -8,200 > α 0.05 on the ability of degen weapon attacks in South Sulawesi athletes' fencing. The effect of squat training is more effective when compared to leg press training in increasing the ability of degen weapon attacks in South Sulawesi athletes' fencing. Squat training is more effective because the movement characteristics of squat training are closer to the characteristics of attack movements in fencing. The results of this study recommend that coaches and athletes, to improve their dominant physical components to increase their ability to attack weapons in fencing, should choose leg press and squat exercises.

Abstract

The application of critical discourse analysis extends beyond its usage in analyzing and observing social and political materials that are inappropriate for use in English language teaching (ELT). With the aid of the CDA, students will analyze, code, and understand textual content to enhance their speaking skills as they build arguments. This literature study examined pertinent critical discourse analysis studies released in respected journals or as conference proceedings between 2009 and 2021. After that, the papers were sorted and divided into three groups according to the following themes: (1) CDA's contributions to speaking instruction, (2) EFL learners' issues with CDA in their speaking abilities, and (3) studies on the pedagogical effects of CDA on instruction.

Abstract

The goal of this research is to ascertain how high-level rally training affects students' efforts to improve their forehand drive and hitting ability in squash at Makassar State University's Faculty of Sports Science. The sampling technique we used was a random selection of 33 male students. We employed the t-test to analyze the data. The data analysis results indicate that the mean difference between the average pre-test and post-test scores is -13.879, and the sig. 2-tailed is 0.000 or <0.05. Therefore, the highest level of rally training impacts efforts to enhance students' squash forehand driveability, as indicated by the mean difference between the pre-test and post-test scores.
