Abstract

Technology-based startups, or tech startups, are growing exponentially, bringing various kinds of business models to market and becoming key industry players. In Indonesia, over 1,500 tech startups have emerged, with some of them able to make their mark and gain a strong customer base only in a few years. IIB Darmajaya, with its entrepreneurial vision “Be Bold, Be Vibrant and Be Technopreneurship”, has been relentlessly working hard to help its students transition into tech businesses. However, the success rate has not been quite impressive due to their lack of experience in business management, meager access to capital and market, and minimum guidance and mentoring from business incubators. Our current program will implement Darmajaya’s Six Success Stages of Technopreneurship Incubation in order to select twenty candidates for technology-based entrepreneurship as well as five tenants, who will be directed in managing their business. The entire activities will be run under cooperation with multiple parties, including the university’s entrepreneurship lecturers and student affairs department, the Department of Industry and Commerce, and the existing cooperatives and microbusinesses. This partnership is expected to increase tenants’ survivability and refine their exit strategies, so that they are able to build strong and durable businesses.

Abstract

Fajar Baru Village was originally an Karang Anyar Village, Tanjung Bintang District. The vision of this village is to Build Community Together Towards Independence. This vision is realized in the form of a mission that is with the community to realize Fajar Baru Village that is prosperous, healthy and independent. One form of prosperity and independence contained in the Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJM) of Fajar Baru Village is the growth and development of several business activity groups framed in Home Industry (home industry) activities.  The manufacture of household cleaning products, such as detergents, is one of the products that has the potential to become a Home Industry activity. Based on the results of a survey by the Implementation Team, the work program of the PKK Fajar Baru village group, especially the making of liquid soap, even though it was carried out, was only limited to making and producing for themselves (the management itself).  The results show that, the knowledge of the PKK Fajar Baru Village mothers about "Workshop on Increasing Capability of Making Liquid Detergents as an Effort to Activate the PKK Management of the Fajar Baru Village" has increased. This can be seen from the question and answer session between before and after the training. Furthermore, the partner group has succeeded in making detergents with several packaging variations

The purpose of this activity is to help partners in order to increase the productivity of the oyster mushroom business group through the application of appropriate technology and skills training for diversification of oyster mushroom products. The implementation method consists of two activities, namely (1) making a vacuum frying machine, and (2) training on mushroom chips processing skills. Making vacuum frying includes the process of planning, manufacturing, testing, and training in the use of machines for work partners. Meanwhile, training for partners includes: (1) providing theories and demonstrations on how to use vacuum frying, (2) training on mushroom chips skills and (3) product marketing training. The results of this science and technology program are the realization of a vacuum frying machine with mushroom capacity specifications of 3.5 kg / process, LPG fueled with automatic temperature control, cooling water circulation, 15 liter cooking oil volume, 900 watt power requirements, dimensions 160 x 100 x 100 cm, with an oil heating temperature of 80 oC and temperature changes between 80 - 90⁰ C, frying time ± 1.5 hours (for one frying time). Mushroom diversification resulted from the training of oyster mushroom processing skills in the form of mushroom chips.

Abstract

SMPIT Harapan Mulia is one of the schools that uses iPad for its teaching and learning activities.  The use of this small, simple and lightweight iPad is certainly one of the solutions to reduce the burden of the books that the students should carry.  All the learning materials can be found easily in the iPad, therefore the students can learn many things anywhere and anytime. In addition, the use of this iPad also will certainly make the students to more focus on the lesson.  The students have an opportunity to be more flexible in terms of self-development.  Besides the benefits provided by the iPad, there are several obstacles that are often faced, including, the use of iPad is monotonous andexcessive use of iPad can reduce student performance compared to those who do not use tablets (according to research from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and University of Michigan). Based on observations and interviews with the principal at SMPIT Harapan Mulia, students who use the iPad are more enthusiastic in joining the teaching and learning process. This can be proven by an increase in the average value obtained by the students of SMPIT Mulia Harapan. However, unfortunately the school also often found the students looked bored with their tablets. This is because their iPad is connected directly to MDM (Mobile Device Management), where the MDM manages the content and activities on each student's iPad.  This MDM limits the student's movement, so that they will not get out of line. However, this MDM also makes students feel uncomfortable and not to be free to express themselves.  Therefore, we need a solution to overcome these problems. This dedication is carried out with the aim to maintain the stability of the students' enthusiasm in using the iPad. In practice, this service provides opportunities for students to develop their skills in using the iPad. Students are equipped with the theory of the development of the use of iPad (in this activity, the iPad is used to control the trash robot). Besides that, the service activity also demonstrated and gave a short workshop on the control of garbage robots using the iPad. The results of this dedication were a simple coding and a monitoring module using a Blynk based iPad.
