Journal Komunika is a journal published by the Dakwah Faculty of IAIN Purwokerto, which has a concentration related to the field of Dakwah, Islamic Communication, communication theory, mass communication, dakwah management, dakwah messages, dakwah media, dakwah methods, dakwah organizations, Islamic broadcasting, Islamic journalism, public relations, dakwah, dakwah in the digital era. Journal Komunika really expects the participation of submission of manuscripts or articles that are expected to be published in every print or electronic edition. Through the journal, Komunika will improve the quality of the content of the manuscript or articles in accordance with the rules of the journal Komunika and the results can be useful for the progress of science and society.

Abstract

Current researches tend to accommodate environment factors and are often dominantly influenced by them. This is a reasonable condition since the nature of communication Science is a contextual one so that it cannot be separated from the facts in its surroundings. The discussion on the development and trends in communication Science will be more interesting to study because in the present time there are many methods and analysis which are applied to understand the elements of communication Science. In accordance to this fact, it is expected that in the near future, communication Science will be more developed and has more complete fields of study in order to give more benefits to society.

Abstract

The progress of mass media is influenced by the development of social theories. One interesting case to be discussed is the relation between ideology and mass media.There are three main groups which have different views on the relation between ideology and mass media. Marxist States that mass media is an institution which can be used to socialize false ideology built by borjuis class. Another group, the liberal pluralist, States that mass media is an institution which is free from interventions of State, political parties, and other repressing groups so that ideology has no relationship with mass media. The third, the critical group, States that texts produced by mass media is not free from any conflicts and interests. This group tries to rebuild the relationship between ideology and mass media.However, the ideology developed by this group is not an flght ideology or false awareness, but an ideology emphasizing on the articulation of meaning or ideology which functions as a discussion and logical social process.

Abstract

Having a family life is a basic need of every individual. This is aimed at reaching a harmonious family life, both in sufficiency or in insufficiency. To achieve this State, every individual need to be aware of having bright and positive thinking and also regardful with praying to God. One effort to achieve this State is by having open communication, not formalistic, familiar, and warm among family members and also with God, Allah swt. Open communication will bring a family to the successful and harmonious life.

Abstract

World development and changes have many impacts to human beings. The changes happen almost in every aspect of life, including physical and nonphysical aspects. The physical changes includes means of communication, transportation, building facilities, agriculture, and many others. The other includes values and norms, tradition, mental attitude, family life pattem, work culture, daily life pattem, etc. These changes bring not only positive effects, but also negative ones to human beings. To increase social welfare, counseling has a significant role to solve social problems, especially in supporting education process and changing its target’s behavior.

Abstract

As a criticism to modemism, posmodemism has created new cultural realities different from the previous. Through its political acts and strategies, postmodernism has constructed cultural hypereality and complexity. This change becomes a chance and also threat that we need to be critical to anticipate the negative effects. One of its strategies is cultural deconstruction, which denies transcendental signs, meanings, and values, represents one of its negative effects. It will eliminate religious values which by contrast place transcendental values as its principle. For that reason, we need to contextualize Islamic teachings in order not to make postmodernism eliminate Muslims’ sense of religiousity. Da’wa, as a means of communication and transformation of Islamic values, plays a significantrole in this postmodernism era. Consequently, reconstruction of contextual da’wa strategy should be committed to balance the domination of postmodernism cultures.

Abstract

Being career woman in Indonesia is not strange right now. They allowed to go out from their home simply. On the other situation, many husbands complain about unbalancing situation to create a certain quality family, particularly about the children education. In fact, is is very difficult to be career woman and creating a certain quality family. An effort in using appropriate communication in a family becomes the important thing right now. Every component in a family should realize how to connect each others. Every family need an appropriate channel and understand how to send message for all the family members. So, becomes career woman is not in the wrong situation now but those understanding about an appropriate communication using is also very important. Here is the urgent position to understand how to communicate among family members through appropriate interpersonal communication is needed.

Abstract

As one of the most important aspects of human life, economy has a significant role to the spirit of Muslim's religiousity. This is driven by the fad that economy is on osped supporting happiness and interesting life and it is also considered o highly valuable aspect in Islam. This paper focuses on da'wa (Islamic preaching) and the economic condition of Muslims. The discussion on da'wa and economy will be more important because in the present time - where human problems are very complex and complicated, especially on economy side - doing da'wa conventionally does not give enough religious enlightenment to ummah.  Oo'wo needs more creative methods and relevant approaches to achieve the best result. In this case, economy will be studied as on approach to da'wa.

Abstract

Both independence and ethics are two elements which determine the image and morals of journalism. The more highly they are respected, the healthier the press will be. Independent press is one which can present news and information which are true as it is found in reality. Independent press is not influenced by any intervention and is free from individual or group's interest. An honest and fair press presents an incident as it is for the shake of people's need.

Abstract

In the some way as Christianity, Islam poses itself as a preaching religion. A preach for the truth of Islam represents Allah's order and is valued as a  holy preach. The preach to obey God con be seen from different points. Seen from its mod'u, it is offered to oil human beings, regardless their races and languages.  Seen from its materials, Islamic preach covers oil aspects of human life in which universal human values become its principles. According to lsmo'il Roii ol-Foruqi, Islamic preach hos to represents the spirit of freedom, rationality, and universality. Consequently, Islam must be preached in politeness, freedom, and responsibility  as well as without any pressure because the truth of Islam is rational.

Abstract

The long and continuous interaction process between Islamic preaching (do'wo) and Javanese culture hos resulted in new products of synthetic culture. The emergence of some rituals which shows the combination between loco/ culture forms and Islamic message is acceptable as for as this acculturation maintains the fundomeritol spirit of Islamic teaching. Such prodices ore commonly found nowadays which shows the combination between these two elements, local culture and Islamic values.
