The problem in this research is the low levels of students' critical thinking skills in class XII. The formulation of the problem in this study is how to apply the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model to improve students' critical thinking skills in English class XII UPT SMKN 4 Pangkep. This study aims to describe the Implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model in improving students' critical thinking skills in English class XII. The research approaches used is classroom action research (CAR), which includes the stages of planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The subjects in this study were researchers as teachers and class XII teachers as observers at UPT SMKN 4 Pangkep, totaling 27 people. The focus of the research is the Implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model and students' critical thinking skills. Data collection is done through observation and documentation. The data analysis techniques used is a qualitative data analysis technique to process data about the results of observation of teacher activities and student activities during the giving of actions. The results of research on the first cycle of teacher activity and student activity are in the sufficient category. In cycle II, the Implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model experienced an increase, namely for teacher activities and students’ activities reaching a good category. Thus, it can be concluded that the Implementation of Problem Based Learning (PBL) can improve students' critical thinking skills.

This research employed quasi experimental design. The population of this research was the second-grade students at SMAN 1 Komodo in 2021/2022 academic year. This research used cluster random sampling. The sample of this research consisted of 72 students in which 37 students in control group and 35 students in experimental group. The research data were collected by using reading comprehension test which was analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistic through SPSS version 16 for windows 7 32 bit. The students’ result of posttest of experimental group more significantly improved than the students’ result of posttest of control group by the mean score 69.14 > 46.12. The difference of both scores is statistically significant based on the t-test value at significant level 0.05 in which the probability value is longer than the significant level (0.00 < 0.05). Then the results of the pre-test showed that the p-Value (probability value) was higher than (0.46 and 0.48 > 0.05) and the degree of freedom was 70. While the post-test p-Value of the two groups was lower than (0.00 < 0 0.05) and 70 degrees of freedom. The t-test scores of the two groups in the post-test were significantly different. This shows that the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted and of course the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. It was concluded that the use of Discovery Learning is effective to be implemented in improving the students’ reading comprehension focusing on literal, inferential and critical comprehension

ABSTRACT The main problem in this study is whether the application of the problem-based learning model affects the English studies learning outcomes of grade VIII students of SMPN 2 Kotagajah. This study aims to determine the influence of the application of the problem-based learning model on social science learning outcomes in grade VIII students of SMPN 2 Kotagajah. This type of research is a true experimental study of the Posttest Only Control Group Design form involving two classes. The subjects in this study were grade VIII students of SMPN 2 Kotagajah which consisted of two groups, namely the control group of 32 students and the experimental group of 32 students. The control group is a conventionally taught group while the experimental group is a group taught with a problem-based learning (PBL) model. The results of descriptive statistical analysis of the use of problem-based learning models on student Social Science learning outcomes have a positive effect, student Social Science learning outcomes using problem-based learning models show better learning outcomes than before the problem-based learning model was applied. The results of inferential statistical analysis using the t-test formula, it is known that the calculated value of t-Count is 9.01 with a frequency of db = 32–1 = 31, at a significance level of 5% obtained t-Table = 2.04. So, t Calculate > t table or null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted. This proves that there is an influence in applying the problem-based learning model to the learning outcomes of English students in grade VIII SMPN 2 Kotagajah

Based on the low learning outcomes of first grade students in English studies at SMPN Benteng Utara No.4 Kepulauan Selayar. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of effectiveness of the Two Stay Two Stray learning model as seen from the English studies learning outcomes of first grade students. The design of this study used the experimental method, with a sample of 24 students. The instruments used are observation and tests. There is a significant difference between English studies learning outcomes before and after the application of the Two Stay Two Stray learning model with the application of the lecture or conventional model. Those who scored 80-100 in the very good category were 13 students or 54.16%, while 6 students or 25% scored 66-79 in the good category, who scored 56-65 in the sufficient category from 5 students. or 20.84%. As well as students who get a score of 40-55 in the low category and no score <40 or less category at all. Therefore, the Two Stay Two Stray learning model is more effective than the conventional model

The aim of this research is to identify the effectiveness of the sequenced type integrative learning model in learning to write for class VII students at UPTD SMP Negeri 34 Sinjai. The researcher was applied pre-experimental design the population is the second-grade students of UPTD SMP Negeri 34 Sinjai in academic year 2021/2022. In analyzing the numerical data, the writer was used SPSS for windows. Basically, all learning models that are implemented are designed in the learning process, if they are implemented with a full sense of responsibility, the results achieved can be meaningful for students and teachers as well as all existing components, including the government and society in general. The improvement in students' writing skills in research can be seen from the increase in the number of words in each sentence produced when students write. The data from this research indicates that the application of integrated learning with a sequenced model through deep thinking skills strategies can increase children's vocabulary and understanding of good behavior related to peaceful values.
