Abstract

Living things undergo very complex growth and development. Mammals as a class in the kingdom animalia have organ growth, some of which leave residual organs or vestigial organs that still need to be studied more deeply about their role. Vestigial organs are often referred to as evidence of evolution and can be used as markers in the kinship of living things. The existence of vestigial organs in the mammalian body can be found in several places. The purpose of writing this article is to determine the role of vestigial organs in mammals. Many vestigial organs are considered to have no function, even though some of them actually support the survival of these living things. The vestigial organs that can still be found in mammals are: coecum, appendix, third eyelid, auricle muscle, wisdom teeth, splint bone, nails and spine and pelvic girdleThe vestigial organs still have a role even though not in a large part of them; become part of the lymphatic system, move muscles in mechanisms to maintain homeostasis, support other organs in the body and organ development to more complex stages. In addition to the role in this regard, the vestigial organs are still important to study because they are an important part of the growth and development of the body where its existence must have a meaning either to stop during the developmental period or to continue to have a role as long as the vestigial organs are present in the body.

Abstract

Duku (Lansium domesticum Corr.) is an endemic plant of Indonesia that has a distinctive taste and is beneficial in the health sector. Besides that, the demand for duku seeds is increasing, so it is proven by the rapid propagation technique on a large scale. This can be achieved through tissue culture techniques. This study aimed to determine the effect of the growth regulators 2,4-D and BAP on Folium explants and Petiolus communis explants in inducing shoots. Leaf explants and leaf stalks were initiated using WPM (Woody Plant Medium) media with 4 different combinations of concentrations of growth regulators 2,4-D and BAP consisting of 0.0 ppm (2.4-D) + 0.0 ppm (BAP); 0.2 ppm (2.4-D) + 2.0 ppm (BAP); 0.2 ppm (2.4-D) + 2.5 ppm (BAP); 0.2 ppm (2.4-D) + 3.0 ppm (BAP) -D) + 2.0 ppm (BAP) on Petiolus communis explants is the most optimal combination of growth regulators, this is indicated by the growth response of the explants, namely the formation of brownish yellow callus on the explants.

Abstract

Zingiberaceae is a family of spice plants that are commonly found in the Sriwijaya Botanical Gardens, this type of plant is often used as medicine, cooking spices, ornamental plants and hair medicine. Families of Zingiberaceae are still not well identified. This study aims to determine the species of the Zingiberaceae families in the Sriwijaya Botanical Gardens. This research uses descriptive qualitative research and uses the method of exploring the location in the Kebun Raya Sriwijaya. The identification results obtained six species of plant species from the Zingiberaceae family, namely galangal: Alpinia galanga (L.) Wild., yellow turmeric: Curcuma longa L., kencur: Kaempferia galanga L., white turmeric: Curcuma zeodaria (Christem.) Roscoe., ginger white : Zingiber officinale var. amrum., and forest galangal : Alpinia malaccensis.

Abstract

Mahagony plants are found in Indonesia. The leaves of this plant contain high levels of antioxidants and flavonoids, so they can be useful as antioxidant. In the study, mahogany leaves were extracted using the maceration extraction method, after obtaining the mahogany leaf extract, further tests were carried out to determine the antioxidant and flavonoid content in it. Antioxidant testing was carried out using the DPPH method (1.1 Dhipenyl 2 Pycnihydrazy). namely 2500 ppm, 1250 ppm, 625 ppm, 3125 ppm and also 156.25 ppm. The ability of antioxidant compounds contained in each concentration was 2500 ppm at 76 09%, 1250 ppm at 70.57%, 625 ppm at 67 96% 3125 ppm absatat 61 77% and 1565 at 13.95% The lowest inhibitory power was found at the highest concentration. ie 2500 ppm Mahogany leaves are strong antioxidants, as evidenced by a high value of 1650 (IC50 100) in the results of the mahogany plant leaf extract test. While the content of flavonoids shows that in the leaves of the mahogany plant there is a flavonoid actxawa. Total levels of flavonoids dissolved in a concentration of 100 ppm achesar 44.4 QEg This study is able to provide information about the potential of mahagony plant leaves as antioxidants.

Abstract

In this study we compared the synthesis of nickel hydroxide nanoparticles using two different solutions, namely tween 20 and PEG (Polyethylene Glycol) 400, the electrolysis method used 0.3 M sodium citrate with the addition of tween 20 and PEG 400, using a potential of 25 Volts for 30 minutes. Obtained nickel hydroxide nanoparticles. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) is used for morphological characterization of the product. Nickel hydroxide nanoparticles added with tween 20 were in the form of nanoflowers, while nickel hydroxide nanoparticles added with PEG 400 were in a spherical shape. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the value of the index of biodiversity and the value of the important index of medicinal plants that exist in the protected forest of RPH Sekar Malang. This study used the plot line method and was carried out in stages, namely sampling, determining the location path that had been surveyed and making measuring plots consisting of 8 plots with a distance of 100 m between plots with a plot size of 20m x 20m. The research data were analyzed using the diversity value index, vegetation analysis and descriptive utilization. Based on the results of the identification and determination of potential medicinal plants, 8 species of medicinal plants were found. The total number for the diversity value index is 1. This indicates that the medicinal plant diversity index in the RPH Sekar protected forest area is in the moderate category. The importance value index for the seedling category showed the highest yield in Piper aduncum of 20.167, the stake category was Centella asiatica with the highest score of 2.899 and for the pole and tree category the largest was shown in the same species, Dendrocnide stimulant with a pole value of 6.771 and a tree value of 13.15. Abstract

Dayak onion (Elrutherine bulbosa) is a plant that is efficacious for treating various health problems because it is known to contain secondary metabolites flavonoids that function as antioxidants. However, synthesis and antioxidant activity of secondary metabolites flavonoids and non-flavonoids are influenced by fertilization. This study aims to test the antioxidant activity of Dayak onion tubers which are given the liquid compost of the fermented tape. The study was conducted experimental using a complete random experimental design 4 Treatment for the concentration of Paitu Yaotu leaf fertilizer 10%, 20%, 30%, and 40%. Giving water distilata and NPK fertilizer (16:16:16) is used as a negative and positive control. The results showed that the fertilization of the liquid compost of the fermented leaf fermented tape had a significant effect (p <0.05) on the antioxidant activity of Dayak onion tubers. Giving with a concentration of 20% is the optimal concentration of compost liquid fertilizer with ferrmed tape yeast with IC50 value 86.01 μg/ml. Keywords: fertilizer, paitan plant leaves, tape yeast, dayak onion plant
