Abstract

Achieving work-life balance is a big challenge for lecturers, particularly given the complexity and variety of their job demands. This study explores the moderating effect of psychological well-being in the relationship between social support and work-life balance. The participants research involved 284 lecturers in Tuban Regency, selected using purposive sampling. This study utilized a research instrument comprising three scales: a work-life balance scale consisting of 12 items (α = 0.820), a social support scale (27 items, α = 0.933), and a psychological well-being scale (24 items, α = 0.949). Data analysis was conducted using moderation analysis techniques by Hayes' Process Macro v4.3. The results showed that psychological well-being moderates the relationship between social support and work-life balance in lecturers (β = 0.0041; CI95 [0.0017, 0.0065]; SE = 0.0012; p = 0.0010). The relationship between social support and work-life balance in lecturers will be stronger with increasing psychological well-being. Furthermore, this study also indicates a significant positive relationship between social support and work-life balance (β = 0.2547; CI95 [0.2001, 0.3092]; SE = 0.0277; p = 0.0000). The findings have practical implications for higher education institutions in designing policies and programs that support work-life balance, which ultimately contributes to improving the quality of education.

Abstract

The Umrah travel business has become a lucrative venture due to the high number of Umrah pilgrims wishing to travel to the holy land. The method used is qualitative. Data was collected through interviews, documentation, and source tracing. Tracing of articles and related literature was also carried out to enrich the context and supporting theories relevant to the research objectives. The data obtained from interviews and documentation were then processed using NVivo 12 software, which facilitates the process of qualitative data analysis through coding and categorization of findings. The research found that the trust of prospective Umrah pilgrims in Indonesia is influenced by the agent's legality (official PPIU from the Ministry of Religion), recommendations from relatives, social media reviews, package prices, and service quality. The majority of pilgrims prioritize officially licensed and trusted agents, understand legal protection, and value positive experiences shared by close people with satisfactory service. Prospective pilgrims also remain wary of offers that are too cheap and expect cost and service transparency. By combining these aspects, travel agents can build solid trust and enhance their positive reputation

Abstract

This Community Service activity was implemented in response to the needs of the coastal communities of Langkat Beach to understand the legal and ecological aspects of natural resource management, particularly mangroves. Through the dissemination of Law No. 5 of 1960 concerning Basic Agrarian Regulations (UUPA) and Government Regulation No. 73 of 2012 concerning the National Strategy for Mangrove Ecosystem Management, this activity aims to increase legal awareness and skills in the wise and sustainable use of mangroves. One of the focus of the activity is training on the utilization of mangrove trees to produce charcoal as an alternative source of income for the community. However, this is faced with a regional context, namely the prohibition of North Sumatra Governor Edy Rahmayadi and North Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Agung Setya Imam Effendi, along with the Acting Regent of Langkat, on the production of charcoal from mangroves due to its impact on the environment and coastal area degradation. In this activity, alternative conservation-based approaches were also presented, such as the utilization of non-timber mangrove waste and community diversification as a production subject to improve the coastal economy without destructive exploitation. The results of the activity showed an increase in public understanding of regulations, as well as a growing awareness of innovation in environmentally friendly mangrove management. This activity is expected to be an example of the integration of central and regional policies in building a sustainable coastal economy. One important regulation supporting coastal area management is Government Regulation Number 73 of 2012 concerning the National Mangrove Ecosystem Management Strategic Plan. This regulation allows mangrove forest land to become a village asset, without being controlled by cricket and palm oil entrepreneurs, and can be certified as Village Property Rights

Abstract

In the era of mass production, the role of human touch in contemporary design becomes increasingly significant, especially in affirming product exclusivity and authenticity. This article discusses the role of human touch in the manual craft techniques employed in the creation of Ong Cen Kuang's lighting products, specifically in the "Bungkus" (wrap) collection. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data was collected from exhibition catalogs, media articles, and direct observation in Ong Cen Kuang's studio and showcases. The "Bungkus" lighting products demonstrate that using crochet techniques with zipper materials creates unique forms that cannot be identically replicated. Moreover, the collaborative strategy between designers and artisans contributes to Ong Cen Kuang’s identity as a slow-made, rare, and non-repetitive brand—highlighting exclusivity within the experience economy. This study underscores the importance of human touch in production processes to establish design identity rooted in local values and sustainability practices. It aims to enrich the discourse on craft-based contemporary design and serve as a reference for developing value-added design strategies in the creative industry era.

Abstract

Bone tumors are abnormal growth within the musculoskeletal system. Tumors originating directly from the bone are classified as primary bone tumors, whereas those that spread to the bone from other parts of the body are known as metastatic bone tumors. These tumors may be benign or malignant, with malignant types capable of invading and destroying bone tissue, unlike benign tumors which do not exhibit such aggressive behavior. Effective management of bone tumors depends on accurate diagnosis, which involves thorough patient history, pathological analysis, and radiological assessment. Among these, radiology holds a crucial role in diagnosis, primarily utilizing plain radiographs as the standard initial imaging method. To evaluate the extent of tumor spread or its relationship with adjacent tissues, advanced imaging techniques such as computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are employed

Abstract

This study analyzes the role of Muslim gatekeepers in the production of the political satire program Bocor Alus Politik on Tempo.co. Using Pamela Shoemaker and Timothy Reese’s gatekeeping theory, which emphasizes the influence of individual, organizational, and ideological levels in content selection, the research explores how Muslim identity and values intersect with editorial decisions. Employing a qualitative case study method, in-depth interviews were conducted with the Editor-in-Chief, journalists, and selected audience members of Bocor Alus Politik. The findings reveal that while editorial policies maintain secular professionalism, individual Muslim journalists and editors subtly influence topic framing to align with cultural and religious sensitivities without compromising journalistic integrity. Audiences, particularly young Muslim viewers, appreciate the program’s critical yet respectful tone toward political issues. This balance suggests that religious identity can coexist with media neutrality when gatekeeping is exercised thoughtfully. The study concludes that Muslim gatekeepers in Bocor Alus Politik operate at the intersection of faith, media ethics, and political critique, contributing to a more culturally responsive journalism. Implications highlight the importance of acknowledging religious identity in newsroom dynamics and its potential to shape inclusive public discourse in digital political journalism

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' difficulties in determining the main idea in narrative reading texts among fourth-grade students of SD Inpres 1 Birobuli. The research used a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings revealed that students struggled to distinguish between main and supporting sentences, comprehend vocabulary, and identify the main idea across multiple paragraphs. These difficulties stemmed from internal factors such as low critical thinking skills, lack of reading interest, and low self-confidence, as well as external factors including monotonous teaching methods, limited instructional media, and an unsupportive learning environment. Although teachers attempted to address these challenges through explanation, lecturing, and examples, the strategies still require improvement to become more effective and interactive. This research is expected to serve as a reference for teachers in designing more targeted and student-centered reading instruction strategies

Abstract

The development of independent villages in South Konawe Regency can be realized in the implementation of bureaucratic reform in good governance. In this case, the government's target is a clean and accountable bureaucracy, an effective and efficient bureaucracy, and having quality public services. In the development process, the political, legal and technological realms can support regional development. However, the economic, social and physical environmental dimensions are still in process and have not supported the achievement of independent villages significantly. Social capital is present in the village community to support bureaucratic steps towards good governance. This study aims to determine the synergy of social capital and bureaucratic governance in realizing independent villages in South Konawe Regency. The research method used is qualitative with in-depth interview techniques, observation and documentation studies. Through information from 25 informants, the results of the study show that social capital is indicated by 3 indicators. First, trust shown in conflict resolution, community mutual cooperation, trust arising from village leadership, and trust based on mutual affection. Second, the network manifested in partnerships between social organizations and social groups. Third, norms that create participation, harmony and mutual respect, customary norms, and reciprocal norms. These three capitals are in synergy with bureaucratic steps that are sound governance, dynamic governance, and open government
