Abstract

This study aims to improve the understanding of wudhu procedures among first-grade students at TPQ Al-Hasan through the application of audio-visual-based media. The research was motivated by the low level of student understanding, where 10 out of 11 students (91%) had not achieved mastery in the wudhu material due to traditional teaching methods. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) was conducted in two cycles, following the participatory PTK model. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed a significant improvement. The average student understanding score increased from 68.5 in Cycle I to 78.90 in Cycle II. The classical learning mastery percentage also jumped from 42.6% to 100%. Furthermore, student activity and participation in learning increased from 73% (Good) to 82% (Very Good). The study concludes that audio-visual media is effective in significantly improving students’ understanding, engagement, and learning outcomes on wudhu procedures. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers implement this media and that future researchers test its effectiveness in different contexts and with broader subjects.

Abstract

Robbery constitutes a serious criminal offense in the Indonesian criminal justice system because it combines the unlawful appropriation of property with the use or threat of violence against victims. Although Article 365 of the Indonesian Criminal Code provides a legal framework for regulating violent theft, judicial practice often encounters interpretative challenges regarding the elements of violence, aggravating circumstances, and sentencing proportionality. This study aims to analyze the legal construction of robbery under Article 365 of the Criminal Code, examine the judicial reasoning (ratio decidendi) in Decision Number 201/Pid.B/2024/PN Ktg, and evaluate the decision’s consistency with the principles of criminal liability, proportional punishment, and legal certainty. The research employs a qualitative normative legal method using statutory, case-based, conceptual, and analytical approaches by examining primary legal materials such as the Criminal Code, the Criminal Procedure Code, and the relevant court decision, supported by secondary and tertiary legal sources. The findings indicate that the court systematically assessed the relationship between factual evidence and statutory elements of the offense and confirmed the fulfillment of both actus reus and mens rea in establishing criminal liability. The judgment also reflects the application of the proportionality principle in sentencing. However, interpretative discretion regarding violence and aggravating circumstances may lead to inconsistencies in judicial decisions. Therefore, this study recommends strengthening judicial interpretation guidelines and developing an integrated judgment database to enhance doctrinal consistency, legal certainty, and transparency in criminal law enforcement in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the objective condition of students’ ability in reading the Qur’an, the implementation of the Mujawwad style of Qur’anic recitation in Islamic Education (PAI) learning, and the extent to which this method improves students’ reading skills in terms of tajwid and fluency (fashohah). This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the initial ability of fourth and fifth grade students was relatively low, as indicated by limited mastery of makharijul huruf, tajwid rules, and reading fluency. However, students demonstrated high interest and enthusiasm toward rhythm-based learning approaches. The implementation of the Mujawwad method was carried out in three main stages: strengthening the basic articulation of Arabic letters, teacher modeling, and student imitation practice. The findings revealed that approximately 50% of students showed improvement in their Qur’anic reading ability, particularly in pronunciation accuracy, basic tajwid comprehension, and reading fluency with proper rhythm. However, the improvement was not evenly distributed due to differences in students’ initial abilities, limited instructional time, and individual learning variations. Therefore, the Mujawwad method is considered effective in gradually improving students’ Qur’anic reading skills, although it requires continuous practice and intensive guidance

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the teaching strategies employed by religious leaders in enhancing community learning participation through recitation activities at Majelis Taklim At-Taqwa Cibatu, Garut Regency. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving religious leaders and members of the majelis taklim. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, classification, categorization, and thematic interpretation. The results show that the teaching strategies include the use of simple language, contextual delivery of materials, interactive lecture methods, and persuasive approaches toward the congregation. Community participation is influenced by several factors, including religious motivation, spiritual needs, emotional closeness between the congregation and the religious leader, as well as a conducive learning atmosphere. These strategies have proven effective in increasing attendance, active participation, and the sustainability of community involvement in religious activities. This study also highlights that the role of religious leaders is crucial in building a participatory learning environment through communicative and contextually relevant teaching approaches in daily life.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the role of youth religious study groups in shaping the moral character of the younger generation at the At-Taqwa Mosque in Kampung Sayang, Sumedang Regency. The study employs a qualitative approach using a case study design to gain an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon from the informants’ perspectives. Data collection techniques included interviews, observation and documentation. The findings are expected to demonstrate that youth religious study groups play a strategic role in the internalisation of moral values through habit formation, role modelling, and religious social interaction. Furthermore, the success of moral development is influenced by supporting factors such as the religious environment and the role of mentors, as well as inhibiting factors such as the influence of digital culture and low youth participation. This study concludes that youth religious study groups are an effective means of shaping the character of the younger generation if managed in a structured and contextually appropriate manner.

Abstract

This study examines the adaptation and implementation of the talaqqi method and tikrar (repetitive memorization technique) in Qur'anic memorization (tahfidz) learning at SDIT Insan Teladan, as well as identifies students' tasmī' performance and the factors influencing its effectiveness. Method: A qualitative case study design was employed. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with tahfidz instructors, and document analysis of students' memorization records. Inductive data analysis involved reduction, display, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation ensuring trustworthiness. Results: The talaqqi method is implemented through direct teacher-student interaction to ensure accurate makhārij al-ḥurūf and tajwīd rules as the memorization foundation. The tikrar approach operates through structured daily and weekly repetition patterns to reinforce retention. Students' tasmī' performance showed notable development through a tiered evaluation system, though outcomes were uneven due to individual learning differences. Key supporting factors include teachers' pedagogical competence and a structured instructional system, while major constraints involve limited instructional time and insufficient murāja'ah (revision) support at home. Implications: This study recommends that Islamic educational institutions integrate systematic long-term murāja'ah programs and strengthen school-parent synergy. Additionally, adapting traditional pedagogical approaches into formal curricula requires more innovative strategies to mitigate student fatigue and optimize long-term memorization retention.

Abstract

The mangupa-upa tradition is one form of oral tradition that is still preserved and practiced in the life of the Mandailing community, especially in Sei Deras Hulu Village, Rokan Hulu Regency. This tradition does not only function as a customary procession but also contains cultural values that are transmitted through spoken expressions known as hata-hata. This study aims to examine the meanings and functions of hata-hata in the mangupa-upa oral tradition. The research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The data consist of hata-hata expressions used in the mangupa-upa procession, which are analyzed based on categories of spiritual, social, and moral meanings, as well as ritual, social, and educational functions. The results show that hata-hata in the mangupa-upa tradition contain spiritual meanings related to safety and the balance of the soul (tondi), social meanings emphasizing harmony and kinship relations, and moral meanings that teach maturity and strength of character. In addition, hata-hata function as a ritual medium, a means of reinforcing social order, and a tool for cultural education. In conclusion, the mangupa-upa tradition not only serves as an oral tradition but also as a cultural practice that plays an important role in maintaining the spiritual, social, and moral balance of the Mandailing community.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse community participation in the Qur’anic education of primary school-aged children in Lubuk Dendan Village, Mulak Sebingkai Sub-district. This study employs a qualitative approach using a case study design, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews and documentation. The results indicate that community participation in Qur’anic study sessions for primary school-aged children does exist, but is not yet optimal. Parents play a more dominant role in the form of indirect support, whilst direct involvement remains limited due to work commitments. Religious leaders have not yet been actively involved, whilst community leaders provide support through facilities and financial assistance, including the salaries of Qur’an teachers. Efforts to increase participation have been made through school policies requiring children to attend Qur’anic study sessions, as well as the imposition of sanctions. However, the level of participation achieved still tends to be influenced by external factors and does not yet stem entirely from community awareness. This study concludes that community participation in Qur’anic education for primary school-aged children in Lubuk Dendan Village is not yet optimal, as evidenced by the limited active involvement of the community and the predominance of indirect participation

Abstract

Land mafia practices in Indonesia are a serious problem that causes harm to land rights holders, both materially and legally. The methods used in land mafia practices include document forgery, unlawful land occupation, abuse of authority, and manipulation of land data, which result in disputes and legal uncertainty regarding land ownership rights. This study aims to analyze the forms of civil legal protection for land rights holders in land mafia cases in Indonesia, as well as the legal remedies available to aggrieved parties. The research method employed is a normative legal analysis using a statutory approach, a conceptual approach, and a case-based approach. Research findings indicate that civil legal protection for land rights holders is regulated by various statutory provisions, particularly in the Basic Agrarian Law and the Civil Code, through mechanisms such as civil lawsuits, certificate revocation, restoration of rights, and claims for damages. However, in practice, this legal protection has not been fully effective due to weaknesses in the land administration system, data overlaps, and the involvement of certain individuals who support land mafia practices. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the land administration system, enhance oversight, and enforce the law firmly to provide legal certainty and protection for land rights holders in Indonesia

Abstract

This study explores how gender is represented in Ancient Egyptian mythology through the concept of binary opposition and a feminist historiographical perspective. It employs a qualitative research design using textual and historiographical approaches. The primary data consist of selected Ancient Egyptian mythological narratives involving gods and goddesses. These texts are analyzed interpretatively through Claude Lévi-Strauss’s theory of binary opposition and Joan Wallach Scott’s feminist historiographical framework. Within Ancient Egyptian civilization, mythology functioned not only as a religious system but also as a symbolic space in which social values and structures were expressed. The analysis identifies recurring oppositional patterns between masculine and feminine divine figures. Masculine figures tend to be associated with authority, control, and power, whereas feminine figures are more often connected with nurturing, protection, and relational roles. These distinctions indicate a hierarchical pattern in which masculine attributes are positioned as more dominant. From Scott’s perspective, such representations can be understood as part of a broader construction of gender that reflects patriarchal tendencies within mythological narratives. Although some variations and ambiguities are present, the dominant pattern places male figures in more authoritative positions, while female figures are frequently defined in relation to them. Therefore, the study challenges the assumption that women in Ancient Egyptian society experienced full equality, particularly when examined through symbolic and narrative structures.
