Abstract

The background of this research is based on the global ecological crisis that demands a reform of biology education that is not only oriented towards mastery of concepts, but also on the formation of environmental conservation awareness and behavior. This research is motivated by the low conservation awareness of students in high schools which has an impact on the declining quality of the local environment. The purpose of this study is to describe the effectiveness of a socio-ecological-based ethnobiology approach in fostering environmental conservation awareness of students in biology learning. The research method used a quantitative descriptive design with 36 students as subjects. The instruments used included pre-test questions, participatory observation-based process assessment, post-test questions, and an environmental conservation awareness questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and N-Gain scores. The findings showed an average pre-test score of 75.22 (SD=3.47) increasing to a post-test score of 76.00 (SD=3.66). The average process score of 59.97 reflects varied active involvement of the 36 students, 18 (50%) completed the conservation awareness questionnaire with an average score of 79.78, which is categorized as "Good." A total of 83.3% of students achieved the "Good" to "Very Good" category in the post-test. The implications of the socio-ecological-based ethnobiology approach have proven effective in integrating local wisdom with modern biological concepts, thus having the potential to be widely implemented as an innovative strategy for environmental education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of green financial behavior and access to sustainable financing on the development of fashion MSMEs in Medan. The growing importance of sustainability in business practices has encouraged MSME actors to adopt more responsible financial decisions and seek financing schemes that support long-term business growth. This study employed a quantitative approach with an associative causal design. The population consisted of 207 fashion MSME actors in Medan, and 150 respondents were selected using purposive sampling based on specific criteria, namely operating in the fashion sector, having been active for at least one year, and being willing to provide information related to financial behavior, financing access, and business development. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results show that green financial behavior has a positive and significant effect on fashion MSME development, with a path coefficient of 0.402, a t-statistic of 5.214, and a p-value of 0.000. Access to sustainable financing also has a positive and significant effect on fashion MSME development, with a path coefficient of 0.376, a t-statistic of 4.687, and a p-value of 0.000. The R-square value of 0.614 indicates that green financial behavior and access to sustainable financing explain 61.4% of the variation in fashion MSME development, while the Q-square value of 0.421 confirms that the model has good predictive relevance. These findings suggest that the development of fashion MSMEs in Medan is shaped not only by creativity and market opportunities, but also by the ability of business actors to integrate sustainability principles into financial management and financing decisions. The study provides practical implications for MSME actors, financial institutions, and local governments in strengthening sustainable and competitive fashion-based entrepreneurship.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the partial and simultaneous effects of work overload (X1) and a toxic workplace (X2) on employee performance (Y) within a manufacturing company in West Java. The research seeks to clarify how psychological and psychosocial pressures interact to determine workforce productivity in a high-demand industrial environment. This study utilizes an associative quantitative approach rooted in positivism. The population comprises 142 employees with approximately one year of tenure at a manufacturing firm in West Java. Using a simple random sampling technique, a sample size of 105 respondents was established via the Slovin formula with a 5% margin of error. Primary data was gathered using offline questionnaires measured on a 5-point Likert scale. Data analysis was executed via SPSS version 25, encompassing Pearson correlation validity tests, Cronbach's Alpha reliability tests, classical assumption tests (normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity), multiple linear regression, partial t-tests, simultaneous F-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R2). The multiple linear regression equation is written as Y = 116.277 + 0.281 X1 - 2.220 X2 The partial test (t-test) reveals that work overload has a positive and significant effect on performance (t-count = 6.770 > t-table = 1.983, p = 0.000 < 0.05). Conversely, a toxic workplace has a severe, highly significant negative effect on performance (t-count = -51.930, absolute value > 1.983, p = 0.000 < 0.05). Simultaneously, the F-test confirms that work overload and a toxic workplace exert a massive combined effect on performance (F-count = 8,324.784 > F-table = 3.09, p = 0.000 < 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R2) is 0.994, demonstrating that the joint model accounts for 99.4% of the variance in employee performance, indicating an exceptionally strong predictive model. At the macroeconomic and regional levels, the manufacturing sector in West Java serves as a critical engine for national economic growth. The findings indicate that while an increase in workload initially boosts short-term output, the presence of a toxic workplace characterized by systemic injustice, interpersonal friction, and poor communication acts as a catastrophic drag on labor productivity, causing a substantial drop-off in performance (B2 = -2.220). For sustainable economic development, manufacturing firms must pivot from raw output maximization to psychosocial environmental management. Mitigating toxic workplace dynamics directly prevents structural labor inefficiencies, lowers high turnover costs, and optimizes human capital development. Promoting a stable and healthy labor ecosystem safeguards regional supply chains and ensures the manufacturing sector's long-term contribution to GDP growth. The novelty of this study lies in its simultaneous structural evaluation of work overload as an intensive physical demand and a toxic workplace as a distinct psychosocial construct, specifically within the labor-intensive manufacturing landscape of West Java. While previous industrial studies focused primarily on physical hazards or generic workloads, this research isolates the profound, non-technical impact of workplace toxicity, proving empirically that an unhealthy psychological climate can heavily undermine and override traditional performance metrics in an industrial factory setting

Abstract

Brand switching intention represents a critical retention challenge in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, particularly for commodity products characterized by high substitutability and minimal intrinsic differentiation. This study employs empirical evidence on the roles of packaging, ingredient branding, and price in shaping consumer brand switching intention, with contextual application to JHS Iodized Salt a domestic Indonesian salt brand facing competitive pressure from local and national competitors. Following screening of peer-reviewed publications from 2020 to 2025, twelve articles meeting rigorous inclusion criteria were selected for critical synthesis. Findings consistently demonstrate that packaging quality and informational content, alongside credible ingredient branding strategies, function as protective (negative) antecedents of switching intention by enhancing perceived functional quality, brand association, and consumer trust. Conversely, perceived price unfairness operates as the primary push factor that accelerates switching intention, particularly in traditional market ecosystems where price sensitivity is highest. Critically, the protective effects of packaging and ingredient branding are found to partially attenuate price-induced switching, suggesting a moderating interaction among variables. These findings generate three testable hypotheses and a conceptual framework for future empirical investigation in the Indonesian salt commodity market. Theoretical contributions to the Push-Pull-Mooring (PPM) model and brand switching literature are discussed, alongside practical implications for packaging strategy, nutritional branding, and competitive pricing policy.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the implementation of a gamified micro-learning mobile application specifically engineered to develop interpersonal English conversational competence among vocational college students. Employing a mixed-methods empirical approach, 120 undergraduate students from Politeknik Unggul LP3M were assigned to either an experimental group utilizing the gamified micro-learning intervention or a control group undergoing conventional teacher-led interpersonal dialogue simulations over a 16-week academic semester. Interpersonal competence was measured quantitatively via standardized pre- and post-tests evaluating pragmatic appropriateness, linguistic fluency, and conversational initiation capabilities, supplemented by physiological and self-reported communication anxiety metrics. Quantitative analyses demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in the experimental group's micro-interaction capabilities (p < 0.01) and an extensive reduction in English communication anxiety levels. Qualitative interviews revealed that gamified rewards, micro-credentials, and spaced-repetition loops lowered the psychological barriers associated with casual L2 interactions. The paper concludes with structural recommendations for incorporating interactive gamified frameworks into vocational General English and ESP pedagogical ecosystems

Abstract

The revolving fund management policy is a strategic initiative of the Riau Islands Provincial Government aimed at improving access to capital for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and promoting regional economic development. However, the implementation of this policy has faced several challenges, including low loan repayment rates, invalid debtor data, weak monitoring systems, and limited coordination among implementing agencies. To address these issues, the Provincial Government established the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) for Revolving Fund Management under the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BKKAD) through Governor Regulation Number 12 of 2023.This study aims to analyze the organizational capacity of the UPT in implementing the revolving fund management policy in the Riau Islands Province. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach using interviews, observations, and document analysis. The analysis is based on Thompson’s organizational capacity framework, which consists of technical, managerial, and institutional capacities. The findings reveal that the UPT has improved administrative coordination and governance mechanisms; however, its capacity remains constrained by limited human resources, inadequate information systems, weak managerial coordination, and insufficient institutional support. These challenges affect the effectiveness of revolving fund management and hinder efforts to optimize loan recovery and policy outcomes. Strengthening organizational capacity through human resource development, digital system enhancement, regulatory support, and stakeholder collaboration is essential for improving accountability and sustainability. The study concludes that although the establishment of the UPT represents a positive institutional reform, further capacity strengthening is required to ensure effective, transparent, and sustainable revolving fund management in the Riau Islands Province

Abstract

The paradigm shift in Indonesia's juvenile criminal justice system from a retributive approach to restorative justice through diversion mechanisms is a constitutional mandate to protect children's fundamental rights. However, in its implementation, diversion is often trapped in administrative formalities and sociological barriers, such as the dominance of compensation agreements that violate the principle of justice for economically disadvantaged groups. This study aims to analyze the regulation of authority and government oversight mechanisms for the implementation of diversion at the investigation, prosecution, and court hearing levels from a Constitutional Law perspective. The research method used is normative juridical with a statutory and conceptual approach. The results show that although Law Number 11 of 2012 (the Juvenile Justice and Juvenile Justice Law) and Government Regulation Number 8 of 2017 have provided a legal basis for hierarchical supervision by direct superiors and functional supervision by the Community Guidance (PK) of Bapas, their effectiveness remains fragmented. This study concludes that strengthening the oversight mechanism should not stop at administrative reporting, but must also address aspects of institutional accountability through synchronization of cross-sectoral regulations and optimization of digital systems such as SPPT-TI. Revitalization of the role of external supervisory institutions is needed to ensure that the discretionary authority of officers remains within the corridor of the best interests of children and the principles of the rule of law that guarantee restorative justice evenly and sustainably.

Abstract

The rapid development of marketplaces as digital business actors in electronic transactions has significantly increased technology-based economic activities in Indonesia. However, the dominance of standard form contracts that are unilateral and exclusionary has created an imbalance in bargaining positions between business actors and consumers. This study focuses on examining how the construction of marketplace liability as digital business actors is formulated in electronic transaction agreements, as well as evaluating the effectiveness of the consumer protection legal regime in Indonesia in regulating such practices comprehensively. The findings indicate that, normatively, the legal framework through the Consumer Protection Law, the Electronic Information and Transactions Law, and their implementing regulations has regulated the prohibition of liability limitations and the obligations of electronic system providers. However, in practice, marketplaces tend to utilize standard clauses to shift risks to sellers and consumers, resulting in a deviation between norms (das sollen) and practice (das sein). Moreover, the factual role of marketplaces, which includes controlling transaction systems, managing funds, and determining dispute resolution mechanisms, demonstrates that marketplaces can no longer be positioned as passive intermediaries. Rigid and incomplete consumer protection often results in unfair compensation. This situation demands reforming marketplace accountability through stronger regulations, limiting conditions that harm consumers, and providing an independent dispute resolution system for fairness

Abstract

Teaching self-care skills to students with mild intellectual disabilities requires structured, repetitive, and individualized instruction. This study aimed to explore the abilities of third-grade students with mild intellectual disabilities in performing a grooming task applying hair oil as part of a self-development learning program. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis involving three students and one teacher at a special school in Cirebon Regency. The findings revealed that while students were able to follow basic grooming steps, they faced consistent challenges in memory retention, task sequencing, and motor coordination. Emotional responses such as frustration and disengagement were also observed when difficulties occurred. The teacher's use of task analysis, modeling, verbal prompting, and positive reinforcement proved effective in supporting student performance and engagement. This study highlights the importance of individualized, emotionally responsive instruction in life skills education and suggests that even simple grooming tasks can contribute significantly to students’ independence and self-esteem

Abstract

This study examined the effects of Organizational Culture, Work Morale, and Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) on the performance of non-healthcare employees at Waled Regional General Hospital, Cirebon Regency. A quantitative survey design was employed involving 148 non-healthcare employees selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS version 26, including validity, reliability, classical assumption, and simple linear regression analyses followed by partial t-tests. The findings revealed that Organizational Culture had a positive and significant effect on employee performance (B = 0.452; β = 0.506; t = 4.843; p < 0.001). In contrast, Work Morale (t = 0.348; p = 0.729) and Organizational Citizenship Behavior (t = 1.689; p = 0.093) showed positive but statistically insignificant effects on employee performance. These findings indicate that Organizational Culture is the most influential factor in improving the performance of non-healthcare employees, while Work Morale and OCB alone are insufficient to produce significant performance improvements. This study provides practical implications for hospital human resource management by emphasizing the importance of strengthening organizational culture to enhance employee performance and offers a reference for future studies in public healthcare organizations
