Abstract

Leviticus is difficult for Christians to interpret today. The book is often considered irrelevant to the life of the church today. This causes some Christians do not study Leviticus carefully. Chapter 19 is the main idea of the book of Leviticus. A careful examination at Leviticus 19:1-8 points to the fact that the passage contains an intertextual connection with Exodus 20:1-11. This article records an intertextual analysis of Leviticus 19:1-8 with Exodus 20:1-11. The form of the intertextual relationship between the two texts is allusion. Therefore, the writer uses the allusive interpretation technique to find the meaning of the intertextual relationship between the two texts. The regulations in Leviticus 19: 1-8 are to be understood in light of God's covenant with Israel. The rules that God revealed to Israel in Leviticus 19: 1-8 are God's way of maintaining His relationship with Israel. Christians can study this passage to find principles for keeping a holy life before God.

Abstract

The suffering theology is not an interesting topic of discussion in the Christian ministry. However, Christians must realize that suffering in the ministry is an unavoidable event. Jesus became the typology of suffering for Christians. Although the theology of suffering is often voiced in various spaces such as sermons, mission oration or in seminary classes, the facts show that Christians will avoid suffering caused by challenges in Christian ministry. This paper describes Paul's perspective on the suffering he experienced in the ministry he did. Through the method of biblical analysis it has been found that suffering is the price to be paid for the gospel being proclaimed.

Abstract

This article discusses the reconstruction of theologia religionum from an Asian postcolonial perspective as a foundation for developing a contextual Evangelical dialogue in Indonesia. The study departs from a critique of Western paradigms, exclusivism, inclusivism, and pluralism, which are considered insufficient to fully explain the reality of Asian religious plurality. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach based on library research, this study analyzes the thoughts of several Asian theologians, particularly Aloysius Pieris, C. S. Song, and R. S. Sugirtharajah. The findings reveal that Asian theology of religions is constructed not primarily through philosophical speculation, but through the historical experiences of plural societies, poverty, colonialism, and local cultural struggles. This study proposes a model of “Asian postcolonial Evangelical dialogue” grounded in three main principles: Christocentricity, contextuality, and dialogicality. This model maintains the particularity of Christ without falling into hegemonic exclusivism or syncretistic pluralism. Therefore, this research offers a new conceptual framework for the development of interreligious dialogue in Indonesia that is more contextual, non-hegemonic, and transformative.
