Abstract

Prototype web-based health monitoring was constructed to monitor the patient's health remotely in real time. Arduino was used to take physical data from patients and convert it into electronic data then sent to the server by using ethernet shield. Based on the result in the research, it was found that body temperature and pulse of the patients were possibly to display into web page in the form of numbers and graphics within seconds (+ 28 seconds). This system also possibly sent alarm information by SMS in seconds (+ 62 seconds). This health monitoring system could be accessed from various range of devices such as notebook, Smartphone and any possible devices compatible with flash in the web. The system was also capable of measuring body temperature and pulse rate with no significant difference compared with manual measurements on a 5% significance level (p> 0,05). Based on this research, it can be inferred that this health monitoring system can provide real-time and accurate medical information anywhere and anytime.

Abstract

Batik is an Indonesian traditional fabric dyeing method using wax to create patterns and designs. Batik is both an art and a craft, which is becoming more popular and well known in the world as a wonderfully creative medium. The designs and patterns of Indonesian batik are known to be very detailed, complicated, beautiful, and commonly used as a dress code for some special events. Given that the memory has its limitations and experts who understand batik is very limited, it is necessary to create an artificial expert in order to keep one of this cultural heritages can survive. The aim of this research is to develop and implement rule based expert system that can quickly and correctly identify the design and pattern of batik, especially batik from Yogyakarta. The system wull construct inferences from several type of inputs feeding to system, concerning the physical characteristic of the batik, such as colour of the background, colour of the design, styles, ornaments and fillers. The system will analyze the inputs using if-then algorithm in order to come to the conclusions. Implementing PHP as a programming language combined with MySQL as database tools, this batik expert systems can be developed and access via internet.

Abstract

Enose is an instrument that be able to discriminated odorant. This instrument is designed to detect formalin content in the tofu product. The aim of artificial olfaction machine design is to find the recommended method to detect content formalin with specified instrument. The instrument consisted of electronic module and pattern recognition systems. The electronic module is a typical application system, consisting of Arduino Uno R3 board, with ATMega 328 chip. In the pattern recognition system, is programmed in Matlab language using LRMA (Linear Regression Moving Average) for pre processing, wavelet and PCA (Principle Component Analysis) for feature extraction, and SVM (Support Vector Machines) for analysis method. Result of pattern recognition that value highest level of recognition is show with SVM method with a 100% of accuracy. Whereas, pattern recognition of unlearn data, the obtained accuracy is 98.33%.

Abstract

There are two kinds of algorithm that widely used for decoding the turbo codes, those are Soft-Output Viterbi Algorithm (SOVA) and Maximum A Posteriori Algorithm (MAP). MAP Algorithm gives a better result on error correcting capability, but the consequence it has higher complexity algorithm, in contrary to SOVA. This paper presented a design for decoding turbo codes using SOVA with Very high-speed integrated circuit Hardware Description Language (VHDL) as the modelling program and the design is implemented on the FPGA. Implementation result shows that SOVA occupies 159 slices or 3% of the available slices in Xilinx Spartan-3E, 105 flip flop (1%), 278 LUT (2%), and 141 IOB (60%) with maximum frequency clock is 43,384 MHz. FPGA implementation of SOVA decoder is able to correct up to six non-burst error symbols from 16 received symbols, but SOVA fails to perform its errorcorrecting capability for three consecutive error symbols. SOVA decoder can be implemented for turbo decoding by combining SOVA decoder with interleaver and deinterleaver.

Abstract

The most substantial component of the operating cost of thermal generation is fuel costs. The problem of how to minimize the cost of fuel to determine the combination of the output power of each generating unit with the fulfillment of load constraint systems and limit the ability of each generating unit known as economic dispatch (ED). In this study, the proposed method Modified Improved Particle Swarm Optimization (MIPSO) approach Contriction Factor Based Particle Swarm Optimization (CFBPSO) then this approach is applied in 2 cases the power system in the case of IEEE 30 bus at loading 800 MW and 500 kV power system Jawa-Bali with 12058 MW peak load. The IEEE 30 bus simulation results, the method MIPSO with CFBPSO approach is able to produce the most optimal economic solution than IPSO approach and Quadratic Programming. For the case of 500 kV power system is Jawa-Bali, MIPSO method with this approach is also able to provide the most optimal solution compared with the real system PT. PLN (Persero).

Abstract

Transformer insulating oil still commonly used in Indonesia is Shell Diala B pertamina production derived from petroleum. Vegetable oils (olive oil, palm cooking oil, and a mixture of both) to be known as the suitability for transformer oil were used in this study. Vegetable oils have advantages over petroleum that is renewable, sustainable, not toxic, biodegradable, and environmentally friendly. Parameters measured and tested were the value of breakdown voltage, at a temperature of 28 oC to 90 oC with each increment of 20 oC, flash point, pour point and viscosity. The test results showed that the pure olive oil at 28 oC had the most high breakdown voltage and fit for use as transformer oil because it has a breakdown voltage of 43 kV, over the test method standard of IEC 156 i.e. ≥ 30 kV/2.5 mm. On all the oil, the temperature rise will cause an increase in the value of breakdown voltage, it is due to the air bubbles in the oil reduced. At a temperature of 90 oC, olive oil still has the highest value with the value of breakdown voltage is 52.31 kV. The most high flash point on pure palm cooking oil is 324 oC over the test method standard of IEC 296 A (> 140 oC). The lowest pour point in the pure olive oil is at -12 oC, under the test method standard of IEC 296 (≤ -30 oC). While the viscosity of the oil composition has almost the same value of about 40 cSt, under the test method standard of IEC 296 class 1 (≤ 11 cSt).

Abstract

Electrical system in Indonesia has two main parts that cannot be separated, the source (provider) and the load (end user). Various attempts have been taken to comply with the load requirement, one of them is by creating a reliable system. The reliability of the system can be achieved by protecting component system from power disturbances, e.g., overvoltage (surge). The characteristic of an surge is hard to define. Overvoltage that travels in the transmission line is affected by the line impedance and may cause an alteration in the characteristics of the resulting waves. One of the alterations that may appear is front time value. This research presents a laboratory testing of an 18 kV Zinc- Oxide (ZnO) arrester with various front time values in the ra ngeof 0-30 μs. The various front time values can affect residual voltage with the average value which is equal to 39972.25 V for input voltage (Vpi) 60 kV and 42150 V for 100 kV. The increment of front time makes the value of residual voltage decrease, but the descent is not significant. The change of front time also can affect the residual voltage waveform as output of 18 kV ZnO arrester.

Abstract

Polymer is now developed as the material replacement of the porcelain isolator and glass insulators. However, tropical climates and high rainfall can cause problems to its. Ultraviolet radiation will continuously accelerate to the surface of the polymer insulator material. As a result, the surface of the insulating material becomes easier letting electric current flow and a fast formation of extensive damage to the surface of the insulator material. Materials used in this study were made from epoxy resin diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A (DGEBA) as the base material, metaphenylen diamine (MPDA) as the reinforcement material and silica sand. DGEBA and MPDA composition was 30% silica sand filler 30%, 25%, 20%, 15%, 10% and 10% silicone rubber was 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%. The size of the test material was 120 mm x 50 mm x 5 mm. The study was conducted in the laboratory according to standard IEC 587: 1984. This study was conducted to determine the effect of ultraviolet radiation on hydrophobic contact angle and surface damage on the broad value of insulation material epoxy resin silanes. The results showed that the length of exposure time to UV light tended to increase the value of the contact angle. This was due to exposure to artificial UV rays which would accelerate the degradation process. The longer the level of ultraviolet radiation on the sample accelerating the degradation off silane epoxy resin insulators in addition, it caused greater leakage current on extensive damage to the surface of the insulating material.

Abstract

The energy meter is a measuring instrument for measuring and knowing the power of used electrical energy on the load/electrical equipment connected over given time. Digital energy meter is currently in Indonesia is growing very rapidly, the researchers conducted a study to develop a system that can calculate the power and cost .This paper describes a design and simulation of digital energy meter using current sensor ACS712. The motivation of this study is based on the service charging Hand - Phone (HP) in places such as restaurants. HP charging a fee is charged by the absence of clear standards. With this equipment, the cost of charging can be set based on power consumption, as well as the physical form of portable, in addition to the cost per - KWH can be inserted. In the implementation of this research, several steps must be passed, one of which is the initial stage, which emphasizes the conceptual design of the algorithms and hardware. The results of this initial phase are test simulation algorithm that shows the average value of error is less than 1 % , this means that the algorithm can work well and can be used for the next step ( development).

Abstract

Samarinda City Regional Archives Office has implemented a computerized information technology system in achieving its organizational goals. This system has benefits as well as risks which has the potential to cause harm and disruption in the activities to achieve the goals of the institution. In order to know whether an institution has prevented the occurrence of errors to minimize losses or not, it is necessary to evaluate the risk management process of information technology. The framework used in the evaluation of information technology risk management in this study is IT RISK .This study describes the current state of maturity level, then measures the maturity level of information technology risk management condition needed, and formulates a program to improve the IT RISK management maturity of current maturity level towards the expected maturity level in Samarinda City Regional Archives Office.The results obtained from this study demonstrate that some process of information technology risk management implementation at Samarinda City Regional Archives Office has reached its target but in some cases it has not reached the target. This is evidenced by the level of maturity of information technology attributes most of which are in the maturity level of repeatable but intuitive and definedprocess. On the other hand, the maturity level required by Samarinda City Regional Archives Office for Governance Risk, Risk Evaluation and Risk Response domain is defined and the subsequent development is Managed and Measurable. This study has also formulated several programs to improve the conditions of each domain toward the expected maturity of Samarinda City Regional Archives Office.
