Abstract

Resistance to Isoniazid (INH), primarily caused by mutations in the katG gene responsible for drug activation, remains a significant challenge in the treatment of tuberculosis (TB) and contributes to the global burden of drug-resistant TB. This challenge has stimulated the search for alternative therapeutic strategies, particularly the development of direct inhibitors of Enoyl-Acyl Carrier Protein Reductase (InhA), which can bypass the katG-dependent activation pathway. This study aimed to evaluate the potential of ten selected bioactive compounds derived from Magnolia alba (white champaca) leaves as direct InhA inhibitors using an in silico approach. Molecular docking analysis was performed to assess the binding affinity and interaction patterns of the selected compounds with the InhA protein, with Isoniazid used as a reference control. The results showed that among the ten compounds tested, Michelenolide exhibited the strongest binding affinity, with a docking score of ?9.1 kcal/mol. Although this value did not exceed the binding affinity of Isoniazid (?9.6 kcal/mol), Michelenolide demonstrated comparable interaction stability and a binding mechanism consistent with direct InhA inhibition. These findings suggest that Michelenolide holds promise as a lead compound for the development of novel anti-tuberculosis agents targeting INH-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains. Nevertheless, preliminary toxicity predictions indicate potential carcinogenic and mutagenic risks, highlighting the need for further structural optimization, in vitro validation, and pharmacological evaluation before clinical consideration.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically examine the influence of motivation and work environment on employee performance in the last five years (2020–2025). In an era of increasingly competitive global competition, organizations are required to manage their human resources effectively. Internal and external motivation factors as well as the quality of the work environment are the main determinants of employee performance achievement. This study uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach by reviewing 30 articles from various scientific databases, including Scopus, ScienceDirect, and accredited national journals. The results of the study show that motivation, both intrinsic and extrinsic, as well as a physically and psychologically supportive work environment have a significant influence on performance improvement. In addition, it was also found that mediating variables such as job satisfaction and employee engagement strengthened the relationship between motivation and work environment on performance. These findings provide theoretical contributions in the field of human resource management as well as practical implications for organizations in designing performance improvement strategies.

Abstract

Transportation services play a crucial role in facilitating mobility and supporting urban economic activities. The growing popularity of online car transport services such as Gocar, Grabcar, Maxim Car, and Bluebird reflects shifting consumer behavior, especially among digital-native generations. This study aims to analyze the preferences of Generation Z and Millennials in Surabaya toward online car transportation services. Using Conjoint Analysis, this research evaluates the relative importance of eight service attributes: price, promotion, customer trust, brand image, safety, responsibility, reliability, and tangibility. Primary data were collected from 120 respondents through an online questionnaire. The results reveal that customer trust and brand image are the most influential attributes for both generations. Generation Z tends to value innovation, credibility, and brand trust, while Millennials show stronger preferences for competitive pricing and promotional offers. Attributes such as safety and reliability are also considered, though to a lesser extent. These findings provide valuable insights for online transport service providers in developing targeted marketing strategies and improving service quality based on generational preferences. Understanding what each generation values most allows companies to enhance user satisfaction and competitiveness in the increasingly crowded ride-hailing market.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Supply Chain Management (SCM) on the effectiveness of water distribution in a clean water provider company, in this case PT Air Minum Tabalong Bersinar (Perseroda) in the urban area of Tabalong Regency. In facing challenges such as distribution delays, water loss, and demand fluctuations, the implementation of SCM is considered to be able to improve efficiency and service. The study used a quantitative approach with a survey method of 130 respondents, consisting of employees and customers of PT Air Minum Tabalong Bersinar (Perseroda). The independent variables include raw water supply, inventory management, distribution, and information technology, while the dependent variable is the effectiveness of water distribution. Data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression using SPSS version 25. The results showed that the four SCM variables simultaneously and partially had a significant effect on distribution effectiveness. The distribution component had a dominant influence, followed by inventory management and information technology. R² of 68.7% indicated that this analysis model could explain most of the variation in distribution effectiveness. These findings emphasize the importance of SCM integration, especially in distribution management and information systems, to improve timeliness, service quality, and customer satisfaction. This research provides practical contributions to management in designing more adaptive and efficient supply chain-based distribution strategies. Recommendations are directed at increasing the use of technology and strengthening relationships with stakeholders.

Abstract

This study analyzes the role of Divers Clean Action (DCA) as an implementation of ASEAN Values in a bottom-up approach to tackling marine plastic pollution in Southeast Asia. Using Alexander Wendt's constructivism theory, this study shows how DCA utilizes values such as collectivism, social harmony, respect for cultural diversity, and gotong royong to build a pro-environment collective identity. Qualitative research methods were applied through in-depth interviews with a DCA representative and document analysis, revealing that an ASEAN Values-based approach can form a strong pro-environmental collective identity while addressing the weaknesses of the top-down approach previously relied upon by ASEAN. However, challenges such as resource constraints and cross-border coordination require more structured policy support from ASEAN. This research makes an important contribution to the literature on regional environmental governance by demonstrating the potential for integrating local values and community-based approaches in addressing complex environmental issues. The implications of these findings suggest the need for a more inclusive policy framework that can combine the strengths of bottom-up and top-down approaches for more effective management of marine plastic pollution in the ASEAN region.

Abstract

The tourism sector can function as a catalyst for development (agent of development). Kampung Blekok is one of the tourist villages included in the 20 Tourist Attractions of Situbondo Regency that managed to survive during the pandemic where Kampung Blekok won 1st place for the best pioneering village in the 2021 Tourism Village Award (ADWI). In an effort to restore the tourism sector, the promotional aspect plays an important role in attracting visitors. The development of communication technology is very rapid where currently information is widely available digitally. Instagram and Tiktok are the types of social media sharing networks that are most widely used in Indonesia. Instagram and Tiktok continue to create innovations in their photo and video editing features. Kampung Blekok itself has used social media sharing networks such as Instagram and Tiktok as promotional media. The role of creative and innovative content is the main spearhead in attracting tourists. For this reason, tourism village managers must continue to follow the development of innovations in the features developed by Instagram and Tiktok platform developers in order to create promotional content that is up to date and attracts the attention of potential visitors. This study aims to analyze (1) individual characteristics, media use, and environmental support in the process of adopting innovation in the use of Instagram and TikTok features by the managers of the Kampung Blekok tourist village; (2) stages of adoption of innovation in the use of Instagram and TikTok features by the managers of the Kampung Blekok tourist village; (3) factors that influence the adoption of innovation in the use of Instagram and TikTok features on the stages of innovation adoption gone through by the managers of the Kampung Blekok tourist village. The population and sample were determined by the census method with a total of 50 respondents from Kampung Blekok managers. Data processing and analysis were carried out using descriptive statistics and inferential statistical tests using SmartPLS software.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the fair value of PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) shares in preparation for its planned Initial Public Offering (IPO) in 2025. The research applies the Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) and Relative Valuation methods to obtain a comprehensive estimation of the company’s intrinsic value. Data were collected from PIS’s financial statements for 2019–2024 and from ten comparable companies in the maritime logistics and shipping sector. The results show that the fair value of PIS shares using the DCF method with the Free Cash Flow to the Firm (FCFF) approach is IDR 1,531 per share; the Free Cash Flow to Equity (FCFE) approach yields IDR 1,566 per share; and the Relative Valuation using the Price to Earnings Ratio (PER) method gives IDR 976 per share. After reconciliation with weighted averages of 40% for DCF-FCFF, 40% for DCF-FCFE, and 20% for Relative Valuation, the final fair value estimate is IDR 1,434 per share. These findings indicate that PIS shares possess strong financial fundamentals and improved operational efficiency, offering promising long-term investment potential for investors.

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze the ability of managerial ownership, audit fees, operating cycle, and firm size as control variable to predict earnings persistence in noncyclical and cyclical companies for the 2019-2021 period.  Using a purposive sampling method, 18 noncyclical companies and 12 cyclical companies were selected. The results showed that in noncyclical companies, managerial ownership, audit fees, and operating cycle could not predict earnings persistence. However, in the cyclical sector, the variation in earnings persistence was determined by managerial ownership, audit fees, and operating cycle by 29.2%. Partially, for the cyclical sector, the results of this study indicate that the higher the managerial ownership, the higher the earnings persistence, indicating that high managerial ownership can minimize agency conflicts and increase earnings persistence. Meanwhile, for audit fees, the higher the amount, the lower the earnings persistence. This result suggests that the more professional the auditor, the less likely the auditor is to compromise financial reports that do not comply with applicable accounting standards. This leads to a tendency for reduced earnings persistence in the audit reports issued. The operating cycle's inability to predict earnings persistence might be due to the operating cycle being more closely related to the company's cash flow, while earnings persistence is related to accrual-based accounting.

Abstract

The use of Epinephrine as a mixture in local anesthesia has been widely used in various types of concentrations. The dogma and myth of the combination of local anesthesia with epinephrine is conventionally contraindicated in the acradial and penile areas due to concerns of potential necrosis due to impaired blood flow. The addition of epinephrine to local anesthesia has been shown to replace tourniquets. An in-depth analysis of the medical literature since 1903 has been conducted, including case reports, reviews, and clinical trials involving the effectiveness of administering epinephrine under local anesthesia as well as its combined risk of necrosis in the acral and penile areas. A thorough search was conducted on Pubmed and google scholar using Keywords: epinephrine, local anesthesia, necrosis fingers, ears, eyelids, and penis. No evidence was found in the literature regarding a link between epinephrine as a vasoconstrictor and achoral or penile necrosis. Procaine is believed to be the cause of tissue necrosis under local anesthesia before 1950. The use of epinephrine in addition to local anesthesia has been shown to increase the effectiveness of analgesia as well as Procaine is believed to be responsible for tissue necrosis.
