Abstract

Long-term use of antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) for epilepsy causes a decrease in vitamin D levels due to the activation of liver cytochrome P450 enzymes. The novelty of this study is due to researching about correlation between the duration of anti-epileptic drugs therapy and vitamin d level in epileptic children This cross-sectional study was conducted from October - December 2021in children with epilepsy aged 1 month to 18 years admitted to pediatric neurology polyclinic of DR Wahidin Sudirohusodo. They were divided into two groups: epileptic children receiving AEDs treatment ≤ 1 year and epileptic children receiving AEDs treatment 1 year. Statistical analysis showed no significant relationship between the duration of AEDs use and the incidence of vitamin D deficiency in children with epilepsy. Keywords: Vitamin D Deficiency; Antiepileptic Drugs; Epilepsy

Abstract

AbstractTilango Public Health Center is an inpatient health center that is located far from trans road access, so it can be a factor in the lack of patient visits. In addition, the number of employees in the inpatient unit of the Tilango Health Center is more midwives than nurses, and even doctors are only on-call (not permanent), so many people are still dissatisfied with the services of the Tilango Health Center. The purpose of the study was to determine the satisfaction of patients and employees at the Tilango Public Health Center, Gorontalo Regency. This research is included in descriptive observational research. The population is all patients and employees of the Tilango Public Health Center, totaling 43 people. The sampling technique uses total sampling so that the number of samples is the same as the total population. Data were collected using a questionnaire instrument. The data were analyzed descriptively and then narrated. The results showed that the performance of the inpatient unit at Tilango Health Center was viewed from the customer's perspective, with indicators of patient satisfaction categorized as satisfied (93.34%), while the performance of the inpatient unit at Tilango Health Center viewed from a learning perspective with employee satisfaction indicators categorized as less satisfied (26.0%). The novelty in this study is the measurement of the level of patient and employee satisfaction measured using qualitative research methods. It is recommended that the Tilango Health Center be able to improve performance and add a health service innovation process. Keywords: Satisfaction; Patients, Employees; Public Health Center

Abstract

Lymphoblastic lymphoma (LBL) is a highly aggressive lymphoblast neoplasm due to the presence of clonal hematopoietic stem cell abnormalities of B or T cell origin. LBL represents 30% of pediatric non-Hodgkin's lymphomas. We report a 2-year-11-month-old boy with complaints of a lump in the abdomen and facial paralysis on the left side. weight loss of 3 kg in 3 months, frequent nausea and vomiting, and constipation. On physical examination, the face was not symmetrical on the left and right. palpable mass from the right iliac region to the left iliac, measuring 17.5 x 10 x 5 cm, immobile, rubbery consistency. There is lymphadenopathy right inguinal region et sinistra. Abdominal ultrasound without contrast showed ileocolic intussusception, with histopathological results showing malignant non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The therapy given was chemotherapy according to the protocol for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Facial nerve paralysis and intussusception are rare clinical features of LBL. It is important to consider a differential diagnosis such as LBL in a patient with a lump accompanied by facial nerve paralysis and intussusception. Histopathological and immunohistochemical examination were needed. Keywords:  Lymphoblastic Lymphoma; Facial Nerve Paralysis; Intussusception

Abstract

In Gorontalo, the total number of HIV/AIDS cases in June 2021 is 64, and homosexuals occupy the highest position, with 34 patients. The term “homosexuals” is historically used to diagnose medical/mental illnesses, and cross-dresser is an alternative term to replace it. The number of cross-dressers in Gorontalo is around 350. Based on the CDC, an HIV check-up is the first step in getting care, treatment, and controlling the disease for people living with HIV and keeping others safe. The novelty in this study was to see the relationship between cognitive factors and the social environment with HIV/AIDS check-up activeness rates among cross-dressers in gorontalo. This research aims to determine the significant relationship between the cognitive factor and the social environment with the activeness of HIV/AIDS examinations in cross-dressers in Gorontalo, Indonesia. The population is 60 people and the sample is 52 cross-dressers. Independent variables used are the cognitive factor (knowledge and attitude) and social environment (support from fellow cross-dressers), while the dependent variable is the HIV/AIDS check-up activeness rates among cross-dressers. This research found that most of the respondents were cross-dressers aged between 25 and 29 years and participants mostly went to Community Health Center for HIV/AIDS check-ups. However, some participants did not go or find out how to do the HIV/AIDS check-up. The conclusion that cognitive factor (knowledge and attitude) was not associated with HIV/AIDS check-up activeness rates among cross-dresser because they failed to reject the null hypothesis. In comparison, social environment (support from fellow cross-dressers) was associated with HIV/AIDScheck-up activeness rates among cross-dressers because it rejected the null hypothesis.
