Abstract

Video viral pemotongan buah kaca buatan AI mewakili pergeseran estetika visual digital. Kajian literatur ini mengeksplorasi daya pikat konten semacam itu, yang menggabungkan hiper-realisme, simulasi material transparan, dan efek ASMR sintetis untuk menciptakan pengalaman sensorik imersif. Dengan menganalisis teori estetika digital, psikologi media, dan peran AI generatif (Runway, Gen-2, Sora), artikel ini menguraikan pembentukan pengalaman media baru dan konsumsinya. Temuan mengarah pada diskusi potensi AI dalam membentuk masa depan desain dan budaya visual.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze communication design in wayang as a learning medium in multicultural education. Wayang,as one of Indonesia's cultural heritages,has great potential to be used as an educational tool that teaches the values ​​of multiculturalism. In the context of education, wayang not only functions as a means of entertainment, but also as an effective medium to convey diverse moral, social, and cultural messages.This study uses a case study method with a focus on the analysis of communication design elements contained in wayang performances, such as narratives, visuals, characters, and interactions with the audience.Data were obtained through observations of wayang performances, interviews with puppeteers and education experts,and analysis of related literature. In addition,this study also explores how wayang can be integrated into the education curriculum to strengthen students' understanding of cultural diversity, tolerance,and social harmony. The results of the study indicate that communication design in wayang has flexible and adaptive characteristics, so that it can be adjusted to different learning contexts. Wayang displays rich and diverse cultural symbols, which can introduce students to the plurality of identities and traditions in Indonesia. In addition, the interaction between the puppeteer and the audience allows for dynamic and participatory dialogue, which is important in the process of multicultural education.The conclusion of this study is that wayang has great potential as a learning medium that supports multicultural education.Therefore, the integration of wayang in formal and informal learning can be an effective strategy in enriching students' learning experiences in the context of multicultural education.

Abstract

Posters serve as a crucial component in media culture, acting as effective promotional tools. In promotional contexts, posters create images that captivate the public, encouraging them to respond and even engage with the advertised product. This study delves into the analysis of a film poster that sparked controversy in 2024, initially titled Kiblat and later renamed Thaghut. The primary issue addressed in this research is the semiotic analysis of the Kiblat/Thaghut film poster, examining the myths within the second-order sign system and exploring how these myths function as significant promotional media in media culture. The study employs Roland Barthes' semiotic theory, specifically his second-order sign system analysis, combined with Edmund Burke Feldman's basic design theory. A qualitative approach with a case study methodology is utilized, drawing data from visual materials of the poster and documents from the production house, Leo Pictures.The findings indicate that the Kiblat/Thaghut film poster displays religious symbols in a provocative manner, such as depicting a prayer scene facing the wrong direction. In the second-order sign analysis, the concept presented is "another qibla," with its signification being deviation/heretical movement in religion. The poster plays a pivotal role in promoting the film, with religious attributes providing a shocking value that prompts public response. The portrayal of religion and its controversial scenes serves as a consumption logic designed to elicit public reaction, particularly in Indonesia, where Islam is the majority religion.

Abstract

The growing number of visual campaigns on mental health issues on Instagram showcases diverse content that is aesthetically engaging but not always psychologically inclusive, especially for individuals with lived experiences of mental health challenges. A key issue arises when visual messages fail to build emotional connection or convey meaning relevant to their intended audience. This study aims to examine how visual elements in mental health campaigns are constructed, organized, and interpreted by such audiences. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the analysis draws on Sonja K. Foss’s visual rhetoric theory, integrated with visual layout principles—emphasis, sequence, balance, and unity—and narrative elements such as coherence and fidelity. The findings suggest that visual beauty does not ensure effective communication if it lacks symbolic relevance, emotional sensitivity, and experiential resonance. Educational content with clear structure, empathetic tone, and integrated visual components tends to be better understood, though challenges in text readability and visual accessibility remain. Mental health campaigns should not only be visually appealing but also inclusive, non-stigmatizing, and emotionally considerate. Ensuring coherence between visuals, captions, and hashtags is essential to deliver a unified message that truly connects with the intended audience and reflects the complexity of their lived experiences.

Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of the creative industry on the economic development of the communit in the Sukabumi region, focusing on the role of digital marketing as a key driver. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data was colleected through in-depth intervies with industry players (INFOSMI HRD, Cimol Bojot Uwa vendor), fields observations, and documentation studies from local government. Findings indicate that the creative industry in Sukabumi experienced significant groth in 2024-2025, particularly in the culinary, fashion, and digital media sectors. Digital marketing proved crucial in enhancing brand awareness and expanding market reach for MSMEs, which in turn created new job opportunities and stimulated local economic growth. Nevertheless, challenges such as low digital literacy, limited capital, and uneven internet infrastucture in the regency areas still impedee optimal developmeent. Therefore, collaborative strategies, adaptation to market trends, and strengthening digital literacy are recommended to ensure the suistanable growth of the creative industry in Sukabumi.

Abstract

Film, as a medium of visual art, holds the power to reflect complex social and emotional realities. This study explores the representation of trauma and sacrifice in Sayap-Sayap Patah 2, a sequel that delves into the personal struggles of Indonesian police officers. The main focus of this research is how narrative and visual elements portray the psychological pressure, loss, and moral dilemmas faced by law enforcement personnel. Using a qualitative approach through narrative and visual analysis, I examine key scenes that highlight the human side of the characters. This study also investigates how such representation can foster audience empathy toward police officers, especially within the cultural and social context of Indonesia, where the police institution often carries public stigma. The findings are expected to provide new insights into the role of cinema in shaping public perception and contribute to the broader discourse in visual culture studies, media communication, and social psychology. This research also emphasizes the importance of film as a space for collective reflection and as a medium that bridges the gap between institutional narratives and individual experiences.
