Abstract

Batteries are one of the most important components in electric vehicles. Batteries are used as an energy source for the entire electrical system and as a place to store electrical energy during charging process. The battery functions to supply electric current in order to operate the electric machine. The lithium-ion battery is a type of secondary battery (rechargeable battery) that can be recharged and is an environmentally friendly battery. This battery has excellent energy storage stability and higher energy density compared to other types of secondary batteries, making this type of battery increasingly attractive for use in electric vehicles. This study aims to design the size of an electric bicycle battery according to its specifications. In addition, an analysis of the calculation of the capacity of the battery to be used and the time for the recharging process is also carried out.

Abstract

The construction of a Solar Power Plant (PLTS) in the Vaname Shrimp Pond, Sungai Kuruk III Village is an efficient solution in overcoming excessive electricity consumption in vaname shrimp cultivation. With the majority of the population working as fishermen and shrimp farmers, shrimp farming requires significant electricity consumption for lights, water pumps and windmills. PLTS is an efficient and sustainable solution by utilizing abundant solar energy in coastal areas. This research uses 28 solar modules with a capacity of 500 Wp, 23 batteries, an inverter with a power of 3,000 watts, and a Solar Charge Controller (SCC) with a capacity of 350 A. Thus, the implementation of PLTS is expected to reduce dependence on PLN electricity while still increasing and maintaining energy productivity as well as maintaining environmental sustainability in vaname shrimp cultivation.

Abstract

The On The Job Training (OJT) program which will be implemented in 2022-2023 also includes collaboration with the LPPNPI Jakarta Air Traffic Service Center (JATSC) Branch Office. On The Job Training (OJT) involves various divisions that handle various equipment and facilities that support aviation safety, including equipment such as the Network Time Protocol (NTP) Server used to synchronize the time of equipment connected to the server network at the Jakarta Air Traffic Services Center (JATSC), thereby ensuring accurate operating times for all connected equipment. All of these efforts aim to improve safety and efficiency in aviation at the national and international levels. However, in this case, in operation, not all equipment always runs well, as does Network Time Protocol (NTP) server 1 at the LPPNPI Jakarta Air Traffic Services Center (JATSC) Branch. The purpose of this research is that the author wants to solve the problems that occur in On The Job Training (OJT) activities at Perum LPPNPI Jakarta Air Traffic Services Center (JATSC) Branch.

Abstract

To achieve stable internet communication services, it is necessary to have good internet service quality. The greater the transmission capacity and bandwidth used, the faster information can be accessed from the internet. Quality of Service (QoS) is a measurement method used to determine the capability of an internet network to provide better and planned network services to meet the needs of a service. In analyzing the Design of Fiber Optic Networks for Quality of Service (QoS) improvement between Gandul and Duren Tiga, two factors need to be known, namely the Fiber Optic network and several parameters such as throughput, packet loss, jitter, and delay. In the analysis of the Fiber Optic network, the focus is on reducing losses in the network, while for parameters such as throughput, packet loss, jitter, and delay, observations are conducted using standard telephony and Wireshark applications. The results of the analysis based on the triphone standard show that the quality of throughput speed in the Gandul and Duren Tiga areas is still subpar, especially in terms of throughput. To improve some of these inadequate/poor parameters, several steps are taken, namely by adding/installing a Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP). By installing a Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP), some of these parameters can be improved, specifically in terms of throughput in the Gandul and Duren Tiga areas.

Abstract

Increased awareness of energy efficiency and sustainable resource management has encouraged the development of intelligent electrical energy and water usage monitoring systems. In this context, the Internet of Things (IoT) has become a promising solution for connecting household devices to the internet, enabling users to monitor and control electricity and water consumption in real-time. This research aims to design and implement an IoT-based monitoring system for electrical energy and water usage in homes. This system uses a powerful Arduino ESP32 microcontroller and can connect to the internet via WiFi. This microcontroller acts as a control center that collects data from sensors installed in the house. Based on these problems, this research was carried out, with the aim of creating a prototype to record electrical power loads and display the amount of electricity consumption in rupiah levels to monitor the use of electrical power loads and convert them into rupiah. To conduct this research, the author used observational research methodology or field study and literature study. In this research, it is necessary to pay attention to understanding how to think and how to carry out the results of thinking according to scientific steps.

Abstract

The disturbances that often occur in 20kV cubicles are those with low insulation resistance values ​​caused by several factors such as environmental conditions, humidity levels, dust, temperature, water, pressure disturbances and other disturbances. If this disturbance is left unchecked, it can cause short circuits and electric current leaks. Another disturbance that is often experienced by 20kV cubicles is corona, where this disturbance causes a hissing sound in the cubicle and the appearance of rust on the indoor contact parts of the cubicle. If this condition occurs continuously it can cause serious damage to all 20kV cubicle components and cause losses for customers and PT. PLN (Persero). So to anticipate these problems, maintenance is required on 20kV cubicles. PT. PLN (Persero) carries out annual maintenance of 20kV cubicles to increase the insulation resistance value and overcome the problems of hissing and rust caused by corona events. This Industrial Practice assignment discusses the maintenance of 20kV cubicles in accordance with PT's SOP. PLN (Persero). After carrying out maintenance on the 20kV cubicle, the problems that occur can be resolved, such as increasing the insulation resistance value and the disappearance of the hissing sound and rust on the contacts of the 20kV cubicle.

Abstract

Floods occur when water levels exceed normal limits, causing rivers to overflow and inundate low-lying areas. Early warning systems for flood disasters are crucial to mitigate the damage caused, such as loss of life and property. A flood classification system can be developed by utilizing water level data from the Department of Water Resources to predict the likelihood of flooding using the K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) algorithm. This study aims to determine the flood status classification based on water levels using the KNN method in the Ciliwung River. The research data were obtained from the DKI Jakarta open data site, consisting of 564 samples. The study evaluated K values ranging from 1 to 10. The average accuracy across all K scenarios was 99%, with the best K value being 1, which provided 100% accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity. These results indicate that the KNN method is effective in classifying flood status based on water level data, making it a reliable tool for early warning systems. This system is expected to help reduce the negative impacts of floods by providing accurate and timely information to the public and authorities. This research makes a significant contribution to the development of disaster mitigation technology, particularly in flood risk management in urban areas.

Abstract

PT PLN Indonesia Power Suralaya is a company engaged in power generation with a total capacity of 3400 MW, using coal as fuel. An air fan seal motor is a motor located in the burning of coal in a grinding tool commonly called a pulverizer. The air fan seal is an important motor that functions to protect the mill part from contamination of crushed coal powder. The air fan seal also helps keep the coal from entering the coal grinder inside the Pulverizer/Mill. The purpose of this study is to find out the techniques of PT Indonesia Power Suralaya in maintaining the performance of air fan seals so that coal-fired power plants can operate optimally. This research was carried out directly based on work experience in the work area of PT. Indonesia Power Suralaya PGU units 5-7. The results of this research consist of a combination of various actions used for the purpose of maintaining the company's assets. Maintenance can repair disruptions that occur until the asset is running according to its performance

Abstract

Medication compliance is essential to support the recovery of one's health. Prescribed medication for patients should be taken in accordance with the instructions, such as taking it after a meal, so patients should adhere to these guidelines for the medication to work optimally. Typically, medication reminder devices that have been designed continuously sound alarms until the user takes the medication. This allows users to meet the requirements before taking the medication, for example, having a meal if necessary. This medication reminder device is built with a snooze button that allows users to postpone the alarm so they can complete the necessary tasks before taking the medication. It also features LED lights to indicate the medication box that needs to be taken. The LCD displays real-time information, the next medication time, and the type of medication to be taken. The result of creating this device is that it can activate alarms according to the specified schedule and activate the LED lights corresponding to the medication box to be taken. The snooze function works when the snooze button is pressed and when the medication is not taken for 1 minute. After being postponed, the alarm will reactivate after 3 minutes. Additionally, notifications are also successfully sent to the Telegram application connected to the device. There is a delay of approximately 15-30 seconds when activating the alarm. Messages are sent to Telegram at three (3) times.
