Abstract

The economic vulnerability of fishermen in South Garut is a critical issue, influenced by unpredictable weather changes and fluctuations in market prices for their catch. These conditions directly impact fishermen's income and welfare, leading to prolonged economic uncertainty. The urgency of this research lies in the need for a deeper understanding of the factors influencing this vulnerability in order to formulate appropriate strategies to improve fishermen's economic resilience. This study aims to analyze the forms of economic vulnerability of fishermen and their causal factors in the South Garut region. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with fishermen, field observations, and analysis of related documents. Data analysis techniques were carried out descriptively through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that fishermen's economic vulnerability is influenced by high dependence on natural conditions, limited access to technology and weather information, and unstable market price fluctuations. Furthermore, minimal institutional support and access to capital also exacerbate these conditions. This study recommends increasing access to weather information, strengthening fishermen's institutions, and implementing price stabilization policies to improve fishermen's welfare.

Abstract

Economic interactions within local communities often face challenges such as uncertainty and high transaction costs when relying solely on rigid formal market rationality. This research is crucial as it examines how trust functions as an essential social infrastructure to maintain economic stability and efficiency at the grassroots level. The objective of this study is to analyze the transformation of trust as social capital that drives the economic wheel of local communities in Indonesia. The research method employed is a qualitative approach using the library research method. Data were collected through a comprehensive literature search of scientific journals, books, and research reports, which were then analyzed using content and thematic analysis techniques within the framework of embeddedness theory. The results indicate that trust significantly reduces transaction costs by replacing formal contracts with norms of reciprocity and reputation, while also serving as an effective social control mechanism through social sanctions. Honesty is proven to be a rational survival strategy for MSME actors to maintain access to community resources. This study recommends strengthening social capital in economic empowerment policies and suggests further field research to measure the impact of digital disruption on trust in rural areas.

Abstract

This study examines women's involvement in home industries as part of a strategy to meet family economic needs, particularly in indigenous communities that still maintain local cultural values. This study aims to analyze the role of women in the cassava processing home industry in the Cireundeu Traditional Village, including their involvement in the production process, their contribution to the family economy, and their role in maintaining local culture. The study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and purposive selection of informants. The results show that women play a dominant role in processing cassava into various marketable products, such as opak (rice crackers), chips, and kecimpring (rice crackers). This involvement not only contributes to increasing family income through diversifying economic resources but also serves as a means of empowering women through the development of business skills and experience. In addition, women play a role in the cultural sustainability of the Cireundeu community through the preservation of traditional processing techniques and cassava-based products. Thus, women occupy a strategic position as economic actors and guardians of the cultural identity of indigenous communities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the socioeconomic conditions of people working in the informal sector in Cipadung Village. The informal sector plays a crucial role in absorbing labor, especially those without access to formal employment. However, this sector also faces various challenges related to income instability, limited access to capital, and minimal social protection. This study employed a qualitative approach with library research, where data was drawn from various secondary sources such as books, scientific journals, and reports from official institutions such as the Central Bureau of Statistics, the International Labour Organization, and the World Bank. Data analysis was conducted through content analysis to identify patterns and relationships between relevant concepts. The results indicate that the economic conditions of people in the informal sector tend to be vulnerable, characterized by low and unstable incomes and limited access to economic resources. Socially, people in the informal sector generally have low levels of education and limited access to health and education services, despite having strong social ties within their communities. Furthermore, people's socioeconomic conditions are influenced by various factors, such as education level, access to capital, social environment, and government policies. Thus, comprehensive efforts are needed through inclusive policies and empowerment of people to improve the welfare of informal sector workers in a sustainable manner.

This study aims to determine the relationship between time management and learning motivation in grade XI students at MAN 5 Ciamis. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlation method. The population in this study was 101 students, with a sampling technique using purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire with a Likert scale to measure time management variables and learning motivation. The results of the study showed that students' time management and learning motivation were in the medium category. The research instrument used was qualified to be valid and reliable, with a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.822 for time management and 0.86 for learning motivation. In addition, the research data is also distributed normally based on the normality test. The results of Pearson's product moment correlation test showed a correlation coefficient value of 0.741 with a significance of 0.000 < 0.05. This shows that there is a positive and significant relationship between time management and learning motivation, with a strong level of relationship. Thus, the better the time management that students have, the higher their motivation to learn.

This approach used a quantitative approach using the associative method. The population of 130 class X students of MAN 5 Ciamis was determined at 98 students using the Slovin formula and simple random sampling techniques. The instrument used was a questionnaire using a Likert scale scoring. Data analysis uses validity test, reliability test, descriptive analysis, linearity test, Person Product Moment correlation, and simple linear regression. Based on the results of the data analysis that has been done, the average score of student self-control is 46.94. The average discipline score is 49.11. The correlation results show a strong relationship between self-control and learning discipline with a value of r = 0.6808 and a significance of 0.000. The results of simple linear regression show the equation Y = 18.236 + 0.584X with an R Square value of 0.4635, which means the influence of self-control is 46.35% on student learning discipline. Based on these results, it is concluded that self-control has a positive and significant effect on learning discipline in class X students of MAN 5 Ciamis.

Abstract

This study aims to reduce the increasing rate of early marriage in Ciamis Regency. The research employs a qualitative method, conducting interviews at the Ciamis Religious Court with prospective brides and grooms applying for marriage dispensations. Data analysis was performed to understand the mental readiness of adolescents regarding early marriage. The findings indicate that the mental readiness of marriage dispensation applicants is at a threshold between ready and unready. Many young couples are still trapped in the adolescent developmental phase, where the need for immediate gratification outweighs long-term planning. This is evident from the reasons for marriage, which are often triggered by economic factors, education, and unintended pregnancy, without due consideration for the mental and emotional preparedness required to face domestic conflicts. These findings support the understanding that marriage is not merely about the solemnization of the ijab Kabul but necessitates comprehensive mental and financial readiness.
