Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the cooperative learning model Talking Stick in enhancing students' learning interest in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SMK Negeri 7 Bandar Lampung. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest approach involving 24 students. The learning-interest questionnaire instrument was validated, resulting in 12 valid items with a reliability coefficient of 0.861. The learning process was implemented through several sessions following the structured stages of the Talking Stick model and subsequently analyzed using statistical tests to examine significant differences between pretest and posttest scores. The findings indicate an increase in learning interest, particularly in student engagement, confidence in answering questions, and interest in PAI content. The novelty of this research lies in the application of the Talking Stick model to strengthen religious learning interest at the vocational high school level, as well as in improving the previously weak indicator of learning interest, namely “interest.” These findings contribute to the development of more engaging, collaborative activity-based instructional strategies for PAI that align with the characteristics of vocational students and effectively support the formation of religious attitudes and understanding.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of implementing Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) in strengthening the internalization of moral values in Akidah Akhlak instruction at a Madrasah Tsanawiyah. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with one teacher and three students from different grade levels, and document analysis. Data validity was ensured through triangulation to enhance the consistency and credibility of the findings. The results indicate that CTL is effective in linking moral content to students’ everyday experiences, thereby enhancing moral understanding through case studies, modelling, and value-based dialogue. However, the reinforcement of values achieved remains largely at the level of basic behavioral expression and has not yet fully developed into stable moral internalization. This limitation is influenced by the lack of structured opportunities for moral reflection, the impact of the broader social environment, and the absence of digital moral literacy integration in the learning process. This study affirms that while CTL makes a significant contribution to moral education, the expansion of pedagogical strategies and the integration of contemporary moral issues are necessary to further advance the internalization of values toward the formation of a mature and sustainable Islamic character.

Abstract

Learning in Islamic Cultural History (ICH) should develop students’ higher-order thinking skills, particularly at the C5 level, which involves evaluative and argumentative judgment of historical events. At Darul Huffaz Islamic Boarding School, Lampung, ICH instruction remains teacher-centered with limited analytical activities, resulting in low evaluative skills. This study examines the effectiveness of the Predict, Observe, Explain (POE) model with Self Cards in improving ICH learning outcomes at the C5 level. A quasi-experimental method with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design was employed, involving two eleventh-grade classes: an experimental group receiving POE-based instruction with Self Cards and a control group taught using conventional methods. The instrument was a validated and reliable C5-level achievement test (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.87). Data were collected through pretests and posttests and analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests, the Mann–Whitney U test, and an independent samples t-test. The results revealed homogeneous variances and a significant difference in learning outcomes (p = 0.048 < 0.05), indicating that the POE model with Self Cards effectively enhances students’ evaluative skills through structured prediction, observation, explanation, and self-reflection.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) learning model on the learning outcomes of eighth-grade students in the subject of Islamic Cultural History (SKI) at MTs At-Tholbin in North Lampung. The approach used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental research design that includes a pre- and post-test. The study sample consists of two classes: Class VIII A as the experimental group, in which the TGT model was applied, and Class VIII B as the control group, in which conventional teaching took place. An essay test, whose validity and reliability had been verified, was used as the measurement instrument. Data analysis was performed using a t-test for independent samples. The result of the study yielded a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a clear and significant difference in learning outcomes between the experimental group and the control group. This proved that the Team Games Tournament (TGT) learning model has a positive influence on students' learning outcomes in the subject of Islamic cultural history.
